Jerry isn’t paying $20 million to bring him back for 2026, so it’s either the Sox get some prospect(s) back no matter what the quality, or they get to pay Robert $2 million to look for a new contract. It’s truly a no-brainer.

Sox at Rays, 7/21 6:35 CDT

Seems like it’s the way to get both Vargas and Sosa in the lineup as well. -
Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

This response to Heyman’s tweet made me laugh… -
Sure doesn’t seem like a wise decision to let him face the #2 team in the MLB in runs scored, but that’s assuming a trade can be worked before the deadline.
-
And even if Robert is more than likely worth 4/$40, his recent play gives Jerry an out from spending even that much. Cuz like you said, Jerry doesn’t want to pay him. And I doubt he even wants to spend 4/$40 on any player with the way he has been cutting payroll.

I don’t want to settle for anything. However, your offer isn’t realistic. Robert changed agents to Scott Boras. He is much more likely to sign a one-year deal with a high AAV to recoup his value for a shot at a bigger long-term deal after 2026. Boras isn’t going to settle for $40 million over 4 years. Boras doesn’t short his client or his own percentage of the cut with team friendly deals.

$10 million a year is nothing these days in the MLB. Take a look at what Joc Pederson has earned since he turned 30.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale

Was it the swing change or gaining 20 mounds of muscle in the offseason, or was it Ryan Fuller? And then what is the reason he reverted back to his old bad self? -

I don’t think it means anything in the long run. It’s just funny how the minute he leaves the Sox, he gets hotter than s%*#. -

The casual fan is not running the team. Jerry is. Do you really think Jerry is going to approve Getz picking up Robert’s $20 million dollar option for next season after he has had two down years in a row? No, Robert is going the way of either Eloy or Moncada. He will likely be moved before the trade deadline. If somehow Robert is still on the Sox after the trade deadline, he will go the way of Moncada. His buyout will be picked up as soon as it can be and he will become a free agent. I mean, how can this even be in question for you?!? Just look at history.

The Future of the White Sox TV Broadcast Team

Here it is… -
Still too small of a sample size but this happens too much to be a coincidence. The Sox organization is a black hole that sucks up players’ desire to play baseball.

Was this a direct result of AJ talking about the Sox negatively on his Foul Territoy podcast? -

They are playing the third worst team in baseball. -

Who cares? They have already won a WS more recently than the Sox so what does it even matter? If they have the best offer for Sox players, deal them. It’s not like we don’t already know that the Cubs are a better organization and team than our lowly Sox. -
Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
WhiteSox2023 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No, they can’t “really use” him. The Sox are no where close to winning s%*# and Robert will be 35 by the time the Sox are competing. He will probably be out of baseball before he ever hits 35 anyways. -
Impressive. Pirates fans took it even further than the large banners that Sox fans brought to their seats. Where is this for Jerry? The Sox are even worse than the Pirates. Sox fans need to up their game to match Pirates fans. At least Jerry sort of sold, but likely only because he feels the Reaper breathing down his neck.

I think it’s worth keeping him to see what he does with more and more playing time. I wouldn’t trade him for some mediocre lottery ticket. But I agree with @Chicago White Sox that if you can get a similar type player as Sosa that plays the outfield, it would be worth it. It’s just a shame his defense is poor and he has zero plate patience.

Sorry, I mis-read your post regarding the timing of his potential release. Agreed.

Wouldn't it make more sense to DFA Rojas on around September 1st when rosters expand?
-
Dude, I already had him on Ignore and you just made me read his long whiny ass post because you quoted him. Thanks… 🤣 Nothing more hilarious than someone who complains about a message board that they don’t run or pay for, suggests that it should shut down, yet continues to post on it. I can think of a much easier solution to his problem with the board, but it looks like you beat me to it…

It all depends on Caitlin Clark’s injury status.
