  1. Perhaps. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help the Sox any. Of course White Sox fans are going to have a much more critical opinion of their former star player who has turned into a shell of himself while watching him play daily (when he isn’t injured of course) compared to the national viewpoint of some writer that barely watches Robert play and simply remembers that season two years ago when he was really good. This shouldn’t be a surprise to you at all. It makes sense.
  2. The bigger whiff is not having or not being able to find a better 1B option than Ryan Noda.
  3. I said he’s been “mediocre”, not bad, which he has been now for the past 1.5 seasons. And that’s when he’s not injured. And where did I ignore his handedness? Yes, I realize a righty is typically a better hitter against lefties and vice versa. Talking Robert up over and over isn’t going to improve the trade return on him no matter how much you hope and wish it will. Unfortunately, Getz didn’t trade Robert sooner, he performed even worse, and now the trade return on him will be even weaker. Time to accept the cold hard truth. It sucks, but oh well…
  4. I disagree. He knows how bad this team is and yet he still takes his kids to Sox games. It’s his own twisted form of punishment when his kids don’t get straight A’s or eat all of their vegetables.
  5. This goes to show that beating the Rockies means jack. That’s how bad they are.
  6. I think by the end of the season, we wouldn’t want either of them anyways.
  7. Not sure why you would exclude his numbers for this season. And yes, those numbers are mediocre for a supposed “star” player earning $15 million dollars. When Benintendi is outplaying you and earning more of his salary than you, that’s embarrassing. Both guys need to go bye bye.
  8. Good point. I had to check if his stats against lefties were just fluky good for this year only but he has a career line of .297/.372/.507/.879 against them. He’s just been very mediocre against righties in his career, unfortunately — .246/.292/.440/.732.
  9. “Little patience Need a little patience, yeah Just a little patience, yeah” The defense is definitely an issue but also Sosa has 64 strikeouts and only 7 walks. 😞 He could be a really good hitter if he figured that out, but I guess we could say the same thing about a ton of players.
  10. And obviously Vargas is more valuable than a guy like Andrew Vaughn due to their respective defense, but Vargas is nearing 1,000 plate appearances for his career (he’s at around 39% of Vaughn’s career PA’s) and he’s been an even worse hitter thus far. And almost everyone was excited to see Vaughn go because he can’t hit.
  11. Right quad strain. Noda is hitting .088 (3-for-34) with one homer over 16 games. Should have just released him before he got injured.
  12. If many posters here don’t think he’s a good enough long-term option for the Sox at either 3B or 1B, I doubt the Cubs would want him at 3B either.
  13. I would too but I think the Cubs will go after a better hitting 3B than Vargas who is an impending free agent, which will come cheaper than giving up Shaw.
  14. Apparently Schriffen doesn’t realize Vargas is in the middle of another slump.
  15. What an absolute crap at bat and night by Benintendi.
  16. This is a good old fashioned ass whooping.
  17. It doesn’t just feel like that. That’s what IS happening. It’s a dong fest out there tonight.
  18. I don’t remember this one either. Were you remembering him as a potential Fedde trade target?
  19. So the 24-year old is in question to be good long-term, but you have much more faith in the short hot streak of a soon-to-be 33-year old veteran starter who has been pretty much mediocre his entire career?
  20. The stupid thing is that they could’ve just given it to Houser or Vasil and avoided any of these discussions. Not a big deal either way I suppose.
  21. That’s what happens when you use AI to write your articles and social media posts.
  22. I read that they are also looking at Eugenio Suarez of the Diamondbacks as a bridge veteran 3B the rest of the way but they aren’t looking to trade Shaw.
