  1. Getting injured running to 1B is an embarrassment. George Brett would still be playing, even after crapping his pants.
  2. That was embarrassing. Routine play.
  3. Byrd on short rest… apparently not so gouda.
  4. Hopefully the Sox have an amazing chiropractor that can keep it under control. Do players live on cortisone shots these days?
  5. Yes, they could have cut it to a one score lead but had an INT. Later, they also had a chance to stop MC on 4th down and had a PI call against them. Brutal to watch, and they never replayed the PI call there. That was a big turnaround in the game. But also, early in the game they failed to score at all on 1st and goal, and then whiffed on a safety after that. But yes, I do think this MC team could beat some college teams. Probably not D1 but likely DIII teams. I think that’s BR’s only loss of the season the rest of the way.
  6. Simply outmatched. BR is really good but MC is on another level.
  7. My younger son is a techie so he managed to install an app called SportsFire on my streaming devices that has a free live Marquee Network stream that is working as of right now. Here are the instructions if you are a techie as well. I just installed it on one last streaming device and it was pretty easy… https://troypoint.com/sportsfire/ My older son who is playing tonight just texted me that Caleb Williams and some other Bears players will be at the game tonight. I asked him where he heard this but I am still waiting for his response.
  8. TWTW is the real difference in all of those games.
  9. I would not be surprised if Montgomery has way more power than DeJong. He probably already does. Although DeJong did have a 30 HR season early in his career.
  10. I’m not disagreeing, but I would be curious to see proof that Jerry has actually not had revenue each season, even if it wasn’t the revenue that was anticipated. I really don’t think Jerry has actually “lost” money in any season due to all of the additional kickbacks for everything else outside of attendance.
  11. I’m not disagreeing. Just curious. My point is that “substantial losses in revenue” doesn’t mean no revenue at all. And that you aren’t in the green overall. That sounds like your team just didn’t earn as much revenue as was anticipated.
  12. Is this really true, when you factor in all the additional profits they make from the MLB? My guess is that they are still in the green, just not at the amount they would want to be. “Substantial losses in revenue” compared to prior years does not equal “no positive revenue”. https://www.marcnormandin.com/2024/09/16/white-sox-to-cut-payroll-in-2025-after-substantial-losses/
  13. Are you referring to Vargas’ horrific start that lasted from the second the Sox acquired him into this season, along with his sporadic extremely long slumps? No offense, but you would be a complete and utter moron to not trade Vargas for Shaw in a straight up trade, even if the Cubs front office was high enough on meth to even make the offer. Shaw is younger, has more years of control, and IMHO, is much more likely to reach his peak. Shaw is apparently a cowardly “me” guy? What evidence do you have of this? Meanwhile, did you miss the hilarious “depressed” Vargas memes from last season once the Sox acquired him because he couldn’t buy a hit with his weekly salary? Who you crappin’?!?
  14. Marquee Cubby Paid Network picked up the game…
  15. Agreed. If they move, their attendance will likely automatically improve short-term because fans will want to see the new stadium. However, attendance will only improve long-term if the Sox can actually field a good team that can make the playoffs somewhat often, which is a much bigger problem than the location of the new stadium, IMHO.
  16. Agreed. They would have been stupid to. Shaw is going to be really good. Power and defense at 3B. Just what you want in a 3B. Even some speed, but I’d tell him to chill on the SB so he doesn’t pull a hammy. Meanwhile, the aging and overpaid Alex Bregman finished the season with a 3.5 bWAR. Smartest non-signing the Cubs made this past offseason.
  17. I think it’s a bit funny that some people are mildly excited about Vargas and his 1.8 bWAR in a full season (569 PA). Meanwhile, Matt Shaw put up a 3.1 bWAR in his rookie season in 437 PA. He just started hitting in the second half. I think he’s going to be a damn good 3B. I doubt the Cubs were ever going to trade him but I would hope Getz at least tried to acquire him somehow.
  18. Yep, never used the NHL site but the MLB site works great as well.
  19. Shouldn’t this thread go in “The Diamond Club”? It doesn’t look like he ever played for the White Sox. And not to excuse the cheap teams out there, but if this guy wasn’t an absolutely terrible pitcher, some teams would have valued him more and paid him. It would be like Cam Booser complaining about the Sox being cheap to him. 🤣
  20. He was the 10th most valuable player in the entire MLB by WAR during the regular season. https://www.espn.com/mlb/war/leaders Your opinion is an interesting one to say the least…
  21. I would rather have Mr. Hankey as GM.
  22. Meidroth, the backup middle infielder. 😶
  23. New Sox fan motto — “We Don’t Believe In Them.”
  24. My buddy is a negative Cubs fan. He texted me today that he couldn’t believe how many ex-White Sox players were contributing to WC playoff teams. He mentioned how lights out Crochet was. I reminded him that Jerry has refused to pay Sale, Rodon, Cease, and Crochet. He just responded with “disgraceful”.
  25. It’s important to remember the insane season he had and playoff starts like this when analyzing the trade. All because Jerry is a cheap miser. I doubt Boston misses the four prospects they gave up for Crochet right now.
