Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
WhiteSox2023 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That is crazy. Made me wonder how his overall numbers are so bad, until I looked at his numbers against right-handed pitching. Mind-blowingly bad. -
If Charlotte stats were all that mattered at ages 23/24, Baldwin would be the most discussed player in the minors with his near Bondsian 1.162 OPS. Just like with Baldwin, no one is buying until they prove they can hit in the majors.

Ban bet, lol. Calm down and have a cold one. Obviously I meant that he isn’t returning anything of value. I was hoping you had me on ignore. Guess not.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

At this point, I can’t imagine a team trading for Robert unless they give up almost nothing and take on as little of his contract as possible just to see if he somehow gets hot on a team with a chance at the postseason. With this injury and now even less time to “get hot” before the trade deadline, he looks like a pure salary dump at best, and not much salary because the Sox will probably have to eat a lot of it. Keep in mind that any team that trades for Robert will be on the hook for his $2 million dollar buyout. -
Yes, it isn’t going to happen. Robert is gone via a salary dump trade or his $2 million dollar buyout at the end of the season.

I never made one post saying Vargas was a favorite of mine. That much should be obvious. Obviously, the Sox are a better team if he can hit but .229 / .722 isn’t all that promising. But it’s still way better than he was before.
-
Nah, he’s actually good. Vargas, not a believer. You declared victory a bit too soon on him. Slater too.
-
Teel a beast!
-
Except that we all know that contract was terrible money a few months into his first season as a member of the Sox.
-
Someone get Vargas some more pixie dust. Benintendi has better numbers now.

I read your link and thought it was an Onion article. I’m still not sure… 🤣

He isn’t returning a thing.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

“White Sox placed OF Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 26, with a left hamstring strain. With less than one hour remaining before first pitch on Sunday afternoon, Chicago has decided to send Robert to the injured list and extinguish any hope that he would potentially be ready for Tuesday’s series opener against the Dodgers. The 27-year-old center fielder has been battling a left hamstring issue recently and figures to miss at least a couple weeks, even if imaging only reveals a mild strain. The timing of the injury certainly complicates matters from a trade standpoint as Robert was expected to be one of the more high-profile names on the move at next month’s deadline.” -
I bet he can still play CF.
-
Sample sizes still matter. He is still OPS’ing under .700. Same goes for dick-riding guys like Vargas, Slater, and Tauchman. Those numbers are dropping fast. And Colson isn’t even doing it in the majors.

At least they got something for him. That extension was strange the minute they signed it. The Bulls just continue to tread water. ”Mired in mediocrity” could be JR’s motto for both teams, but the White Sox aren’t even good enough to be mediocre. -
Leave DeWayne Wise outta this. He made a sweet catch one time.

He needs to watch out for crazy Liver King. -
That movie was truly awful, regardless of how “woke” it was. 🤣

Yes, and then allows his stupid manager start a 29-year old bum 1B in RF. I am really failing to see how Venable is any better than Grifol, other than his “awww shucks” responses to the media for his losses. I would love to see the Getz apologists justify this ridiculous Noda move. What a clown…
