  1. I’m thinking they are done after seeing this. Bruce says the cash from Boston is all for 2026, which means that pretty much the exact amount of the “Louis” Robert money freed up has now been spent. Seems like too big a coincidence how that worked out.
  2. I’m shocked anyone wanted him, but yeah it won’t be much.
  3. Venable said that Newcomb would at least get a crack at the rotation in ST… https://www.mlb.com/news/sean-newcomb-to-compete-for-white-sox-rotation-spot
  4. Yep, seems like they wanted Sandlin badly and think he’s a better investment for a future and long-term starter option than spending $10+ million a year on a short-term free agent starter option.
  5. Yep, Romo has been claimed three times off of waivers by the Orioles, Mets, and White Sox, so he’s most likely gone. A 24-year old catcher that has shown he can hit in the minors is desirable. Wish they chose someone else.
  6. Yep, 2 PTBNL for the White Sox and 1 PTBNL for the Red Sox. From our boy Merkin… https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/jordan-hicks-trade-white-sox-red-sox
  7. Not a fan of this DFA. Would have rather seen it be someone like Tristan Peters or Bryan Hudson
  8. Yep, whenever a Sox/Sox trade is discussed, people either need to explicitly add the color or use cities.
  9. I thought he was saying that the Red Sox save $16 million by moving Hicks, even after sending $8 million to the White Sox. Hicks was owed $24 million over the next two years.
  10. I think you are correct. Bannister’s last year with the Giants was 2023. Hicks joined the Giants in 2024.
  11. Technically, the Sox are spending $3 million over what was left from Robert trade, which was about $5 million. Hicks is $8 million a year. 🤣
  12. Also, $8 million a year for the next 2 years is a drop in the bucket for the White Sox anyways considering their payroll.
  13. It’s a good trade with the money included as well. But Hicks at $8 million a year could still be bad, haha. Hopefully he turns it around and gets back to his St. Louis days of performance.
  14. The original rumor was that the Boston pitching prospect coming back would be 10-15 and the White Sox prospect was around the back-end of their top 30. Sandlin is at 8 and Ziehl is at 14 on MLB Pipeline for 2025.
  15. I never said it would be most of what is remaining. I did think that there’s no way the White Sox make the trade without getting money back. Everyone else said they wouldn’t get any cash in the deal because they were getting the better prospect back. Edit: Apparently it’s $8 million, $4 million a year.
  16. Yeah, so I was right. Boston sending cash. I was told that the White Sox wouldn’t be getting cash back in the deal because they were also getting the better prospect back. But Hicks’ contract (2/$24, plus incentives based on IP) is bad for his performance. No way were the Sox taking on Hicks without getting some of his contract paid.
  17. He’s the pitching prospect the Sox got from the Yankees in the Austin Slater trade last year.
  18. It’s profiling Dick Allen in 1972 and that he was the first White Sox player to win the AL MVP. It also mentions that Frank won back-to-back AL MVP awards in 1993-1994. However, there still is no individual profile for Frank.
  19. Agreed, but I just don’t think Sosa by himself has enough value for a decent starter in a trade.
