  1. I think you are correct. Bannister’s last year with the Giants was 2023. Hicks joined the Giants in 2024.
  2. Technically, the Sox are spending $3 million over what was left from Robert trade, which was about $5 million. Hicks is $8 million a year. 🤣
  3. Also, $8 million a year for the next 2 years is a drop in the bucket for the White Sox anyways considering their payroll.
  4. It’s a good trade with the money included as well. But Hicks at $8 million a year could still be bad, haha. Hopefully he turns it around and gets back to his St. Louis days of performance.
  5. The original rumor was that the Boston pitching prospect coming back would be 10-15 and the White Sox prospect was around the back-end of their top 30. Sandlin is at 8 and Ziehl is at 14 on MLB Pipeline for 2025.
  6. I never said it would be most of what is remaining. I did think that there’s no way the White Sox make the trade without getting money back. Everyone else said they wouldn’t get any cash in the deal because they were getting the better prospect back. Edit: Apparently it’s $8 million, $4 million a year.
  7. Yeah, so I was right. Boston sending cash. I was told that the White Sox wouldn’t be getting cash back in the deal because they were also getting the better prospect back. But Hicks’ contract (2/$24, plus incentives based on IP) is bad for his performance. No way were the Sox taking on Hicks without getting some of his contract paid.
  8. He’s the pitching prospect the Sox got from the Yankees in the Austin Slater trade last year.
  9. It’s profiling Dick Allen in 1972 and that he was the first White Sox player to win the AL MVP. It also mentions that Frank won back-to-back AL MVP awards in 1993-1994. However, there still is no individual profile for Frank.
  10. Agreed, but I just don’t think Sosa by himself has enough value for a decent starter in a trade.

With the Hays signing, does Sosa even have a role/spot now or do you think he will be traded? He is poor defensively at 2B and the Sox seem to want Meidroth as their starting 2B. I thought he could try out LF and alternate with Benintendi there and DH, but you also want Quero getting at bats at DH. The Hays signing and Baldwin complicate the situation even further. What will the Sox do with Sosa? I don’t really want the Sox to trade Quero but trading Sosa seems like a no brainer.
  12. Ahhh, I didn’t see where you were going with it. 🤣
  13. Eh, it’s literally history under the current owner.
  14. Mullins probably would have been a better signing for just $1.5 million more, but it seems like Getz wants Acuna to get a chance at CF.
  15. Because we are used to bad vet signings who are on their last leg. These are actually good mid-range signings.
  16. Exactly. Hicks doesn’t have any value. Bello does, and a lot of it.
  17. If I read the rumor correctly, it sounded like there was a higher rated prospect in the 10-15 range on the Red Sox side and a lesser rated prospect on the White Sox side at the back end of their top 30. I know they need a starter but I have a hard time believing the Sox would take on a bad contract like Hicks’ for a prospect but wouldn’t eat any of Roberts’ salary to improve the return. In any case, this Hicks trade didn’t happen.
  18. Yep, seems like it would have been the perfect time to do it, especially in a trade with the Reds, and they still didn’t.
  19. I read that the Red Sox were including a pitching prospect in the 10-15 range. The White Sox were taking on a bad contract that Boston wants to dump and including a top 30 pitching prospect a well.
  20. To be fair, the Sox were 3.5 games behind the Indians at the time. 🤣
