  1. No doubt..if a quantity trade is the way Getz goes, NY is definitely in the mix.
  2. The Yankees aren’t going to trade him though.
  3. Well first of all, I highly doubt Cease is fetching a prospect rated as high as Crow-Armstrong. It’s just not likely at all. Secondly, Madrigal doesn’t solve any need for anyone. You can get guys like Madrigal on the waiver wire all the time. The Os could send you Ramon Urias, who won a GG at third in 2022 and can play all 4 IF positions. He has a little pop in his bat in his bat, will take a walk and was worth 2.7 fWAR in 2022. But even if he was a player the WS got back, he doesn’t solve a need and he’s way better than Madrigal has been.
  4. They love him because Elias has told them to love him because he made him a priority in the deal. There is no lack of lollipoppers and sheep on that site. Great discussion and some really good posters who I enjoy interacting with but a lot of people who don’t think for themselves and allow what the Os to do to dictate their thoughts. But it’s a fan site and you will get that anywhere. The enthusiasm is great but it’s just not grounded at times.
  5. I don’t disagree. I was just commenting that he was actually a little more useful than I thought he was. I don’t disagree that it’s an odd stance to take. Hell, I pulled a Madrigal auto out of a topps pack years ago. I wish he was good so I could sell it. Maybe the poster here will pay up for it! ?
  6. The playoffs are a crap shoot, so they could get 2 starters like Cease and still get spanked…just ask Atlanta and LA. I actually tend to agree that the Os will screw things up and either not get a starter or will end up with another Kyle Gibson/Jordan Lyles type guy. The Os will likely be adding a bunch of elite position prospects to the team this year. The ceiling for the team will be higher than 2023. It’s not easy to win 100 games but I think there’s a good chance the Os could win 90 games in 2024 and be a better team. But without adding a true starter, I won’t feel great about their chances in the playoffs heading into the season. If a young pitcher emerges during the year, like Bradish did and has, that would change things for me.
  7. It is but I will say that I was surprised that his BA/OBp combo hasn’t been bad and OAA likes his defense some. He has zero power though and that’s a problem
  8. Well, some of the guys I mentioned have tremendous upside too. The difference is they haven’t shown it at this level yet. That said, value is many things…salary, service time, upside, ceiling, floor, etc…most of the guys I listed encompass all of that. Despite what you guys think, cease isn’t the only guy out there and despite what he was in 2022, he is a giant question mark moving forward in terms of how much can you trust him in October and really, that’s all that matters to us right now.
  9. Lots of guys listed are better or equal values. They don’t all have the upside though.
  10. Didn’t say I was..someone questioned me saying it though.
  11. Yea they do. And btw, the cost doesn’t have to be lower. People would gladly trade for a better player and trade more for him.
  12. Well, I’m not as convinced about #2..in just saying I don’t see him trading multiple OF prospects in the same deal. The truth is, no Os fan really knows what Elias is thinking. There are no insiders for the Os. They are extremely tight lipped. We know what Elias has said publicly, which some of it is worth listening to and others is GM talk and we know what he has actually done but the climate for the Os is different now. They are now in the go for it mode. Brandon Hyde said he is now only focused on winning a WS and they need to operate that way. But yea, we just don’t know what the current thought process is. All we know is Elias has an owner that doesn’t want to spend much on the ML product right now, so focusing on guys making lesser money is where we tend to look. There was a report the other day that said Seattle may have to trade a starter and it said even Castillo. The Os wouldn’t be in on Castillo, even though his contract isn’t bad. Just using that as an example.
  13. So? Do you follow these things? All of the guys I mentioned have been said to be available or potentially available all offseason.
  14. They are in position to do it…it’s just a matter of how much they want to do it.
  15. No it’s not. It’s the truth. Your organization is garbage. The Os had a garbage org for like 25 years. I know what garbage organizations look like. The good news for you guys is that you were at least good recently and recognize that you suck, so maybe you won’t be as moronic as the Os were and wait multiple decades before realizing you need to get with the times.
  16. I have been saying that the whole time..you guys have this obsession with top 100 guys and you are wrong for having it. I have this discussion on my board a lot too. And btw, we know that some of those guys are available as much as we know Cease is available.
  17. What does 1983 have to do with the post you quoted?
  18. Whose obsession? Mine? I don’t love Povich at all. High upside arm but I’m much more down on him than most Os fans. you guys are the ones who have mentioned Povich a lot. I’d happily include him in a trade.
  19. Well to be fair, your horrendous org is the one who drafted and developed those guys.
  20. Saying Ortiz is all glove shows your lack of Knowledge of him as a player. Beavers and Povich are far more a sure thing than 17 year Dominicans. I think you just lack knowledge of the players.
  21. Valdez, Luzardo, Bieber, Burnes, Peralta, Woo, Miller, Cabrera…maybe other names we don’t know about it.
