  1. QUOTE(Bullard @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Poor, You must have seen me pitch at the end of this past season because I was indeed throwing slop! But then again I had about 60% of arm strength and truthfully I was just trying to survive. Pitching with a f***ed up elbow and back is not fun and as a result my stuff suffered immensely. I hope you get to see me next year when I am at full strength. I wont be throwing 95 but then again I wont be throwing 80-85 either! I saw you in Durham...maybe August? You pitched well enough to win, but the bullpen couldn't hold it for you. Hopefully having to pitch with that stuff will make you a better pitcher when the arm gets back to full strength. Either way there were tons of successful lefties that couldn't break 90. Sox had a couple of soft tossers that come to mind, Ricky Horton and Dave LaPoint. God, I don't think Horton could hit 85.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) If orton is better than grossman they both suck balls. i'll second that
  3. dude throws some serious slop. his control would have to be near perfect in the majors.
  4. jesus you watch orton and then manning and wonder if they are the same species.
  5. Cool. I never liked Rooney, though I suppose if you grew up with him you might have an attachment.
  6. that dude could f***ing rake when he played for the sox.
  7. jesus, borchard can't play in the majors. gload is hitting about .370 in AAA though.
  8. just got back from the charlotte/durum game. they lost 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth. the charlotte SS who's name escapes me at the moment, put the winning run on with an error. then allowed him to score on a liner off his glove. bullard pitched pretty well. consistently between 74-84 mph. man does he throw some slop up there. he could pitch in the majors if his control is pinpoint. borch hit a homer to center. didn't hit it well and it went about 415 feet. he had another rbi on a hard grounder and got a single into center. the bulls got another cheap run when bullard picked a runner off first but rosie brown threw it into center. jim bullinger looked pathetic out there. gave up a walk and a double w/o getting an out.
  9. jones is good enough if he stays healthy.
  10. anyone old enough to remember jay schroeder of the raiders? he sucked, but they put him in an offense that ran and threw tons of deep passes. i'd like to see the bears do something like that with hutchinson. he's got a strong enough arm. the bears have recievers that can stretch the field.
  11. no way the bears finish with the worst record.
  12. it's ridiculous to argue without knowing what he's going to cost. might be something like 5 years $55 mil. i dunno.
  13. he wasn't that bad. fired larussa, which was a mistake. picked up bonilla as a rule 5 and dealt him for deleon.
  14. lance dickson of the cubs. late 80s.
  15. Bears quarterback Rex Grossman, who missed the final 13 games of last season with a knee injury, broke his left ankle in Friday night's preseason game at St. Louis, an injury that will require surgery and sideline the 2003 first-round pick 3-4 months.
  16. anyone remember another guy named lance drafted in the first round by a chicago team who was a college curveball lefty and dominated in the minors?
  17. ugh. bmac and gofer balls.
