  1. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:35 AM) Heyward Age 26 Cespedes Age 30 and upton is 28. but cespedes will not cost the sox a draft pick.... just thinking. heyward may want a option at 3 yr to leave. that will be a win win
  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:30 AM) So sign Heyward! would it be better to get Yoenis Cespedes for no lost of draft pick??
  3. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:29 AM) Thnking of it this way, you can replenish what you lost in the upcoming draft. and it kinda of thins out some of the cluster in the 3-5 yr range... start another wave of pitchers coming in.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:25 AM) Highly doubt Upton signs until Heyward does that is for sure.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) This is the best thing the Peavy trade has given us yet. and if the baseball gods are with the sox, maybe a possible extension if he proves he is worth it.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:12 AM) For reference, Wendelken was ranked #28 in the FutureSox prospect rankings, Zach Erwin was #16 if you use that as a ref, and it is a valid ref. the need of the team is now. what the value of the sp, esp after last nite trade between the braves and dback, sp are at a premium.
  7. if there was a hold up on the prospects involve, i wonder which prospects were involve org.
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:07 AM) Some were saying Shuck... wow, even if shuck is involve, that is a nice deal for the sox.
  9. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:01 AM) Oh duh, Juan Uribe! Geez guys, do I have to think of everything? for how many yrs??? it might just come to that.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:59 AM) This if this bother you, then don't visit it.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:51 AM) Where's a juicy 3-way trade when you need one? she had to work tonight.
  12. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:57 AM) Dodgers have some pieces available I would think. Enrique Hernandez, Jose Peraza, and Alex Guerrero all seemingly don't have a starting spot. None are great obviously, but all are interesting in their own right at different values. I'd imagine the Dodgers would like to unload Guerrero at this point, but he has a decent price tag and can opt out after being traded. We'd have to get him to agree not to do that before acquiring him. i would start with these two and then see who else is avail.
  13. QUOTE (spiderman @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:38 AM) One option is Saladino and Ramirez, keep the draft picks, and focus on improving elsewhere. then that will be sanchez at 2b remirez at ss saladino at 3b. if remirez doesn't hit, that is a weak infield.
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:21 AM) murphy with a QO being attached, i rather not. if i am to loose a pick, i would it be for Heyward, upton. i think a bigger pkg will need to be explore like in a trade.
  15. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:29 AM) Davis was totally worth $25M a year last season, EASILY. The problem is, what if he has another year like 2014, where he was awful? He would scare me to sign for a long term. i was on davis bandwagon for a long time until yesterday when someone mention his stats and it may not be lasting... 6 yrs at 25 mil is steep and will take him til what, 36-37
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:26 AM) He's doing his job. The man would be my agent if I were in MLB and you do have a point. my point is i am sooo negative on the sox FO as a whole and that agent, that i am sure many are tired of my recurring mention of putting the blame on them. so i been trying to refrain from mentioning them by name or negativity .
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:22 AM) It's Boras. Gonna be awhile. exactly, i wasn't going to go there. since my ummm hatred may have cloud my opinion.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:17 AM) Freese, Murphy murphy with a QO being attached, i rather not. if i am to loose a pick, i would it be for Heyward, upton.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:15 AM) I guess. Didn't realize he hit 47 last season with 117 RBIs and a .262 avg. and is that worth 25 mil per which Davis group turned down???
  20. with the Lawrie rumor taking a rest, so to speak, what other viable option can the sox pursue?? any stopgap options ??
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:10 AM) @JonHeymanCBS: Orioles are now OVER $150M on Davis bid. There's a gap but situation is "fluid." story on @CBSSports Uhh...am I the only one that thinks this is crazy? big time, a hitter getting 25 mil per and now more.
  22. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:50 AM) Oh man, that article has it all! Atrocious writing, comical grammar, a complete lack of insightful commentary plus laughable projections. It reads like a string of semi-coherent Yogi Berra-isms. Some of my favorites: Chicago needs a catcher and Collins is right there with Okey as a College Bat that could be in the mix with Chris Okey and Nick Banks to be the top College bat selected in June's 2016 MLB Draft. (sic, all of it) Polak can play catcher, first base, second base, shortstop, or infield. Drake Fellows should have gone 10 picks earlier. I didn't know where to put him in this mock so he fell 10 picks. Pint also displays an 82 mile per hour knuckle curveball and an 85 mile per hour changeup that is 30 miles faster than the 55 mile per hour fastball by Alec Hansen. Robert Tyler's 2016 draft stock will be defined by Tyler's progress in 2016 next Spring. Right now Robert Tyler is a top 5 pick in our secon 2016 MLB Mock Draft after being a top 5 pick in our first round pick in our previous mock. Garrett had Tommy John's Surgery... what is your opinion on Bobby Dalbec, 3B, Arizona and Mike Shawaryn, P, Maryland , i know it is early, i was wondering. but yeah, Garrett is a pitcher i was keeping on the back burner to keep an eye on to see how he does as well as Shawaryn who i believe had a forearm surgery of some sorts.
  23. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:51 AM) Oh God...after last night's trade I'm picturing Quintana for Trea Turner and like 4-5 other guys (mix of position players and pitchers). exactly. it still works for me.
  24. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:44 AM) Nationals need a pitcher and the Sox could use a SS * cough* Trea Turner *cough*. that works for me.
  25. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:41 AM) Everyone's backing off Leake now @Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Nationals cooling on Leake. Pursuing other pitchers. Agreement with Leake now considered unlikely. leake should look for a 1 or 2 yr contract with no QO being attached with a salary for 8-10 mil. just to reestablish his value.
