QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) Yeah, the Genius album from 1991 and some of his verses on the Wu Tang debut are amazing, but otherwise, it's for the kiddies. I can't figure out who is more pathetic: Raekwon or Ghostface Killah? All of their lyrics were inspired by mafia movies. They suck hard. But RZA is a legendary producer, so maybe you like the beats first and foremost. I have the instrumental LP for their first album (limited to only 100 copies I think), and it's unbelievably good. What?? You didn't like Ironman and Supreme Clientele? What about Only Built 4 Cuban Linx?? Enter the 36 chambers?? I am assuming you are talking about all solo joints and the wu albums.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Dude, why are you even bothering with hip hop from this year? The genre has been dead since the late 90s. Do you have the Krown Rulers repress from 1988? I tracked down their album on cassette back in the mid-90s, and I eventually got the original wax (appeared to be mint but with pops and clicks everywhere and s***ty sound due to tracks truncated on a single record). It has finally been repressed! That is the one you want, man. Seriously, run (don't walk) to sandbox automatic and pick that up. If Rakim is your favorite, you'll want to give me oral sex after hearing the "Paper Chase" LP. You can still find good hip hop around. I guess you're not really excited about some of the albums that should come out this year. For example Madvillain 2, Ghost, Nas, Can Ox, PUTS...just to name some.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) Slightly off-topic, but I had to do a slideshow on why drugs are bad, and I picked up one of those books on marijuana in my school library, and on one of the pages it showed a picture of Wu-Tang Clan on stage and the caption said, "many rap groups, like the Wu-Tang Clan, use marijuana." That was it, and the funny part about it, it was in a "how does marijuana affect the body" section. At least I thought it was funny. Maybe they really meant that for ODB...haha. RIP.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) just wait man, i swear cee lo and danger mouse will be great....like half the songs have leaked and the gnarls barkley album are gonna be pretty solid. What about Lil Wayne? I don't consider "back that thang up" and "go dj" hip hop classics...

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) I am very confused by you, bmags. That Wu Tang/Goodie Mob crap is cool if you're like 12 years old.....maybe. I'd be interested in seeing a Top 10 list of your favorite hip hop artists/albums from 1983 to 2000. You know, just so I could see where your head is at. Wu Tang is not only for 12 year olds. Wu Tang is highly respected by anyone who knows their hip hop not just 12 year olds.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 05:17 AM) I still think i'm right either way he's a gimmick hey i'm a hasidic jew rapping in a dialect that i'sn't my own to gain record sales in the likes of other fake rappers like sean paul and shaggy god damn guys ... listen to lil wayne, ghostface, and cee lo this yaer if you want to hear hip hop I agree with ghost, but definitley not lil wayne and not really cee lo...but that's my opinion.

Everett takes jab -- moves too disruptive?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
"Counted out all year, all of em can shut up now, shut up, shut ya mouthes" Sound familiar Carl? The guys on the Phillies board think that MB's comment about not missing anyone from last year was directed at Arow. Definitley not the case. I also happened to see that Gio and Haigwood aren't doing too well this ST, but then again it doesn't mean anything really. -

Haha good ole Crazy Carl. I wonder what was said with the "animated" talk he had with KW. I won't hate Carl for what he said, he stepped it up for us early last season when everyone was cold...even though he was almost worthless the rest of the way. Anyway, good luck to him, that's all I have to say. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) I know this might sound bad, but I'm actually happy some of these crappy pitchers we brought in are doing bad. I don't think any of them should be on the roster of a World Series contender. Thus, maybe their poor performances will help persuade KW to make a move for a reliever. I agree, but to an extent. You don't want to be so desperate to overpay for a mediocre reliever. Besides making these small attempts of finding a diamond in a rough is sorta the sox way. I don't think it will ever change. Not only that, but you never know, one of those reliever can take the place of a faultering Politte or Hermy. Politte was getting saved at the end of last year and Hermy is questionable with his back. Even then if hes 100% healthy I don't see him being as good as he was 1st half of last season. I'll tell you guys this much, the bullpen has me a little worried this season.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) This is why I love Kenny. I seriously can't think of any gm that cares more than he does. Yeah I am very very proud of Kenny, I can't say how much I appreciate what he does here, but I just hate his mouth. What he said towards Frank really disappointed me. I mean yeah you have to defend the organization, but he went too far. That wasn't the only time he should have shut his mouth either.

Lou Malnati's is at the top of deep dish. Anyone ever tried Beggars Pizza? I don't think its in Chicago, but it's in the south burbs. The original Pizza Uno's are great... at least that's what I thought a few years ago. I don't know about now.

Kelvim Escobar not a fan of Pierzynski
Whitewashed in '05 replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Nah I am sure he's still glad he threw that meatball to Crede and tagged AJ with the wrong hand. It's all AJ's fault though. Haha, I am sure he's going to love facing us the rest of his career, I mean Crede and AJ. -
Everybody needs to shut the f*** up in my opinion. Frank should have never opened his big ass mouth and KW should have kept his mouth shut as a GM. Ugh.

Waiting a little longer is a good idea. It allows the team to really see if he turned the corner or is the same ole Joe. Besides the back issue at least. I hope he is able to hit a little higher than .250 consistently, if that happens and he's healthy then I'm all for offering him a multi year contract.

LOL! A bartender threw ice cubes at Jenks' head? What a dick... still hilarious though.

Thats her! The other day I was eating dinner and was channel surfing when I saw her singing. She doesn't look good in that maxim picture, but damn was she fine on American Idol.

Cubs, White Sox, & Red Sox scouting Juan Gone
Whitewashed in '05 replied to SSH2005's topic in The Diamond Club
Aren't players always "in the best shape of their career" after a major injury? In Juan Gone's case, after how many injury plagued seasons? Stick a fork in him. He's just trying to get a free 400k for the last time. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Healthy Pods = 70-80 steals. Add a few more to that since Chan Ho Park is out of the AL haha. Didn't he pick pods off like 3 times in one game?

Never been to any of these, but I don't believe this sort of stuff...

Shocked, but Rowand just keeps on truckin'
Whitewashed in '05 replied to SSH2005's topic in The Diamond Club
It seems as if Rowand was just as attached to the sox as we are to them. Good luck to him in Philly...
