QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) Bmac complaining of elbow pain. man, i'm starting to think KW pulled another rabbit out of the hat. Oh that sucks. I'm rooting for him.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) What does contract status have to do with who will be more effective next season? When you start comparing players their salaries are brought into account. At least thats the way I look at it.

The fact that they were banned is making me lean towards the airline telling the truth. I wouldn't doubt if the two chics were being b****es and tried to cover it up.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Robertson and Bonderman were both trending positively each year of their careers. Each year improving consistently until taking a step back last season. Last season doesn't fit in line with how their careers have gone. I would gladly substitute Willis for either Danks or Floyd this upcoming season. Gladly. I wouldn't. Willis could easily put up a 5 ERA and gets paid, what 10 million? No thanks.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) Thank you, I know who's on the team. I just don't think their pitching will be as bad as a lot of people here think. Willis, Robertson, Bonderman, and Rodney all had down years last season. If they were on the Sox, a lot of people would be proclaiming bounce-back seasons. Since they aren't on the Sox, they are considered bad players. I expect all to be much better than they were last season. If you got my point you would've known I wasn't telling you whose on the team. Willis' ERA has gone up since 05, Robertson had a bad year compared to what? His entire career besides one year? Actually if they were on the sox people would be b****ing more. No one here wants Willis or Rogers.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 12:12 AM) if they pitch well, the division is theirs. I just don't see how that lineup can fail to produce, even if a couple have off years. Who knows - they've been following the pattern of the Sox (except for blowing the WS), so maybe they'll all have off years. If they would only trade for Erstad.... I agree, If they just pitch decent the division is theirs. They have so much confidence in their offense, everyone will be going up to the plate very relaxed. Now if Robertson throws up a 5 ERA, Rogers gets injured again, etc then their offense is going to have to put up 5+ runs everyday? As good as it is, they won't win and if they do, they will get shutdown in the playoffs. The best the sox can do is hope their pitching is better than everyone else's... not good.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) I think their pitching is going to surprise a bunch of people. DTrain will be inconsistent. Roberts has had one season with an ERA under 4 and has never won more than 13 games. Rogers' arm is about to fall off and Bonderman needs to get it back together. Their bullpen has Todd Jones as their closer with Zumaya out until at least the all-star break. That doesn't include rehab. Rodney hit a bump in the road last season and is experiencing some more injuries. A lot of their big pieces have question marks. If their pitching is bad they're going to have to outslug everyone. That usually doesn't work, see yankees.

They have a damn GOOD offense, but they've got some questions surrounding their pitching.

Bartolo Colon signs with Boston
Whitewashed in '05 replied to GreatScott82's topic in The Diamond Club
It really doesn't matter. I don't think he'll be able to start more than 5-10 games to tell you the truth. We most likely won't be making the playoffs and if that's the case might as well see what Floyd has. We have other optioned if needed anyway. -
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) If he starts for the Sox at all this year, except possibly in September if the division has already been decided, you know we'll be having problems. I hope not and I doubt it. Williams and Ozzie look like they want to go with young pitchers and if their not young then their supposed to be "high-caliber" pitchers. Colon when healthy is a pretty good pitcher before anyone snaps back.

Yeah I saw that... If a girl doesn't look half decent I don't want to look at anything else. That's just me. Now if we were talking in the i'm drunk thread maybe I would agree.

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 04:08 PM) Here's your top 16, with at the bare minimum, topless pics.. 1. Lindsay Lohan 2. Alyssa Milano 3. Carmen Electra 4. Pamela Anderson 5. Mischa Barton 6. Tiffany Amber Thiessen 7. Katie Holmes 8. Angelina Jolie 9. Jennifer Anniston 10. Heather Graham 11. Eva Mendes 12. Drew Barrymore 13. Kim Kardashian 14. Anne Hathaway 15. Jenny McCarthy 16. Paris Hilton 17. Penelope Cruz add others as you see fit. Mischa Barton, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Penelope Cruz? Ugh! I don't see the big deal with Mischa, Pam... not gonna waste the keystrokes on my keyboard, Paris has nothing, and Penelope looks like a rat. Oh by the way I saw this page a little bit ago. http://omg.yahoo.com/celebs-sans-makeup/photos/1163#id=7 Some of them look horrible.

Make a wild or bold predicition for the 2008 Sox

Contreras wins 16 games. Fields has a great season 35 HRs 100 RBI's .275 AVG. Lance Broadway gets a job in the rotation and keeps it starting 17 games with a 4.30 ERA. Sox finish 6 games back of the wild card. -
Prayers go out to the families. This is really sad. I can't believe it. Why do people think this is the best way for them to leave this world? People have to worry about being safe in school now?? WTF

Another person on the A's to make the game more impossible to win vs them. Good luck to him. Everyone always says he is a great guy.
