  1. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) The Twins will be so loose tomorrow. I thoroughly expect a sweep. That said, they are pitching a hack so maybe we'll erupt. The weird thing for me tonight, Dye hits that homer and it was so awesome but after Paulie popped out on the first pitch I had a sinking feeling we'd still lose. I'm not blaming him. It's impossible to expect back to back bombs, but it just seemed like we were destined to lose to those bastards just as last year we were destined to win all those postseason games. Horrible at bat by Paulie, but obviously I'm not blaming him. He did hit a dinger in the game. The Twins should not own us like this. They are not that good. Geezus. Well when Bartlett and Punto are not only getting base hits, but blasting our pitchers for game deciding homers then what can we expect. Also Torii has been hot lately and he does have power, but god damn they are giving up bombs to him like if he's Hafner or Ortiz.
  2. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) Rationally, it is possible to still make the playoffs, and even take over the Tigers. With the way the Tigers are going, they could be in big trouble. The problem is that the Sox can't put wins together and there is nothing about this team that tells me things will change. We cannot "hope" that Detroit falls out of contention though. If the sox take care of business like they should have yesterday and today there wouldn't be a problem. Hell even IF the Twins overtake Detroit we still have to win in order to get past Detroit.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) The more I think about it, there is still hope if we can pull it out tomorrow. .5 is doable, 2.5 seems like a ton If they have ANY chance at making the playoffs, tomorrow is a must win.
  4. Ozzie says it didn't get real bad until the second inning and they need a little winning streak and hopefully they can play a little better. The sox took some good swings vs their pitchers, but we still lost. We cannot continue to give up bases because we cannot afford to do that and we need to get better. He expects Contreras to do better and he's worried about him. He says he needs to step it up.
  5. LOL once again Rongey sets a new bar for stupid remarks, " I don't think Contreras had a terrible start, yes a bad one, but not terrible."
  6. They blow, plain and simple. This team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs. Hats off to Dye though because it seems like he's the only one that can do something to help win a game.
  7. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Has anyone started fireozzie.com yet. You should know already GOD.
  8. Lets go sox you guys need to pull this one off. Step it up.
  9. Well I'm sure as hell glad I didn't take my nephew to the game today.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) The Sox have won 5 games all year scoring 3 or less runs. Its also a cardinal rule of baseball not to make the 2nd out of an inning at home plate. I now believe the White Sox will get swept. The Twins seem more into it. They were much more emotional when they scored, and really appreciated the win. I think they may overtake Detroit. They have a much better chance of doing that than the White Sox I'm afraid. The Twins were definitley alive over there. Hunter really pissed me off acting like he just hit a walk off shot to win the WS. It's really sad that when it matters, the Twins kick our ass year after year.
  11. Wow Rongey is just making himself look more like a moron. "Its going to be tough to win tomorrow since we probably won't score more than 3 or 4 runs." "Ross Gload being sent and thrown out looked like it wasn't a bad decision at the time."
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) Cotts should ask Politte his theory on what happens to guys who cant get people out. They end up needing surgery?
  13. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Swear to god, it came out of his mouth...I almost laughed myself out of the chair. He did. This team needs Cotts to succeed to be strong and bringing him in vs the Twins in a close game is perfect!
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Well, when I don't throw for a few years, the next time I pitch, my shoulder is a little sore.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) The score will be 1-1 in the 8th inning and Ozzie will use Cotts out of the pen with a man on third because the batter is Jason Tyner and he is a lefty. Bmac and Brian are playing cards in the bowels of the stadium in Ozzie detention. Let me finish it for you, we all know what happens and you ask Rongey (I butchered his name last time) how he's going to spin that decision.
  16. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) We got no chance tomorrow, but they still have to play the game. Hope for Santana to sprain his wrist while he's shaving or something. We got no clue how to hit this guy. They sure as hell better not be saying they have no chance vs Santana tomorrow because if they don't win this series were in deep s***.
  17. "There was nothing wrong with the decisions in the 6th." - Rongi, sure thing Chris.
  18. QUOTE(shoota @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) This sounds bad, but I'm looking forward to the end of this season. I hate this team's inconsistency, failure to win important games, and worst, the manager's use of personnel. Ron Gardenhire is a better manager than Ozzie Guillen. What a surprise that you think someone on the sox sucks and needs to go. The season can end the minute you stop paying attention if you really are looking forward to it.
  19. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) Except of course this idiot reached way into the field of play and banged into Morneau. Wait until he's close to the stands before you go after him. He turned a difficult play for Morneau into an out. Gee thanks, idiot fan for making out #27. Don't blame this on the fan, please don't. Morneau as very good at getting catching those balls and he would've caught that one. No excuses for this loss.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) 1. Cora shouldnt be waving anybody in that situation unless he is darn near %100 especially with less than 2 outs. 2. OZ shoulve definitely pulled JV after the 5th no questions asked. 3. OZ shoulda made Jenks pitch 9th...you make them beat your best...especially in a nonsave situation. other than that "what new?" MacDougal has closer experience and he should've gotten the job done. He didn't wave a runner home who had no chance and he didn't bring in the worse reliever we have to face one of their best hitters. In a situation like that we had a luxary of using MacDougal to get us through until we score and Jenks to slam the door. Unfortunately it didn't work out.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) Fire Ozzie Guillen. You know what players choked? NOT OUR BEST ONES, BECAUSE THE MANAGER WON'T GIVE THEM A SHOT. The people that choked tonight were Cotts, Riske, Cora, Guillen, and Podsednik (in the 7th I believe it was). I refuse to blame Eminem since he got nickel dimed and has been great for us, but hell I'd have had Jenks in in that spot personally. Fire Ozzie. How about firing the 3rd base coach first because he sure as hell has come up big for us, a big f***ing joke.
  22. 2 Things that really piss me off about this game. Number one being another s***TY call by Cora sending the runner home to get thrown out yet again. Number two is why the hell did Ozzie bring in our worse bullpen arm to face their best all around hitter? Another thing that irks me is why the f*** do we keep getting beat by homers from guys who barely have warning track power. GOD DAMNIT!
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Do Tiger fans like the announcing crew? I really have not heard that much of them, but what I have heard, I kinda like them. For the Tiger fans that do listen to the two of them, are they any good? I am neither a Tiger fan nor do I listen to their commentators, but I do notice whenever I do hear them that they give credit when credit is due. Their not too bad thats for sure.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) Fogg was even worse than the crap we threw out there in 2002, however your right about Wells. Wells only went 12-14 in 2002, but he had a very solid 3.58 ERA in 198 innings, and damn that woulda helped out the rotation. Nah not really, he could've been better than Ritchie and his 6 ERA. Either way with Garland and Wright in 02 that team wasn't going too far.
