  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) We all know what Joe brings to the table. All the GG does is add more $$$ to contract negotiations... That is a good point. EDIT: or bigger trade value
  2. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) No the Twins picked up Hunter's option He wasn't the same this year, we'll see if he's back in 07 after the injury from 06.
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 05:27 PM) Okay Hawk. lol
  4. Aww man, he will be missed. Where did this info come from?
  5. QUOTE(BainesHOF @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) Perhaps he's trying to find Buehrle to take him back to Chicago by the ear. Lol that's actually pretty funny. I can just picture it.
  6. Not too bad... Even though he is older, it doesn't mean that guys like this can't contribute to the major league squad at some point or even hold decent trade value. I'd like to see the sox sign some more young guys, that are too old to be prospects, but have good attributes.
  7. I am happy about it and I'll take my chances with Razor over Cora. I definitley think he'll be a great addition because of the young guys on our squad.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) You're absolutely correct, putting up 4 months with an ERA below 4 just absolutely sucks balls. We've argued about this before. There's no use in wasting more time.
  9. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 21, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) That says alot to me. Not with last years rotation without a starter that has an ERA less than 4 and pretty much no pitcher that allowed less hits than innings pitched. Contreras had a whopping 2 hits less than innings pitched.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 21, 2006 -> 07:23 AM) I wouldn't say it's a given Soriano hits 40HR's for whoever he plays for next season. He screams out Adrian Beltre v2.0 all over again IMHO, so I'd be wary for whoever gets him that they don't put unrealistic expectations on him. Maybe not to Beltre's extreme, but I see your point. He will get paid like Beltre though.
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) And everyone's love child(including mine), Jon Garland, had 4 months with an ERA of 4.50 or higher. Vazquez was our second best starter all year, and I'm not going to buy any argument against that statement. That's not saying much...
  12. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2629616 Now that some details have been released its more than just Uribe saying he didn't do it. He says he has witnesses, his gun won't match the one that was fired, the blackmail. Knowing people, especially in other countries, I believe him.
  13. I had to turn to another radio station because I kept hearing "If the Cubs are serious about winning NOW, then they will hire Pinella." Isn't that pretty much what they said about Dusty? "Baker's the manager, they want to win!" In order to win they have A LOT of work to do.
  14. The good thing is that everyone is okay. Now I hope Juan Uribe and his brother didn't do something stupid we don't know about. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) Yes!!! Hopefully it wasn't self-defense, and he gets hauled away. Why do I feel like I am going to get banned for saying that? Oh well. That's a really stupid ass remark.
  15. Not too hard to believe a lot of us would like to be involved with something in baseball. Successful MLB baseball player or commentator for baseball.
  16. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) You guys are too easily impressed. Good film, great? Nope. And unless you know and have seen every film in the running, there is no way to say anyone is getting ripped off by the academy. Kinda. It's part 'Internal Affairs' part 'Donny Brasco' part 'State of Grace' wanna be. Now 'State of Grace', THAT was a great Irish/American mob film. Easily impressed? It seems like you are underrating the movie. There are some great qualities about it, but that's you're opinion.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) I don't know if this has to to with the hacking or anything, but I keep getting security warnings when I click into certain threads( like Page 64 of the White Sox Catch-All thread). I've never seen them on this site before so I don't really know why they are appearing. Yup... same here.
  18. Wow...omg... I can't believe it... RIP Lidle and prayers go out to his family.
  19. 4 DP's for Detroit. A's being as unclutch as possible.
  20. Sucks for the Twins. 3 up 3 down. As for Radke, he probably threw his last pitch. I am sure some of that emotion was mixed with the sweep.
  21. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) I bet if it were Cubs news, you'd be all on it. lol
  22. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) thanks. I didnt want to post anything for fear of 'rubbing it in' I gotta be honest. I didnt think the Twins would be in the playoffs around the all star break. I mean they went on that long win streak and gained just about nothing and I was just hoping for a decent 3rd place finish No one on this board gave the Twins any credit at any point before they started winning. I was actually surprised of the people saying they had no chance even though you guys have some solid players. Anyway, you guys deserve to be there. Good manager and you play hard. Congrats, and once again we have a good rivalry to look forward to.
  23. No. A lot of people have given up on bmac, I haven't. While Crawford would be great we need some young starters. We can't just deal every decent cheap option we have.
  24. I don't see how companies can market "light" cigarettes. A cigarette is a cigarette. Not only is it damaging the health of those smoking, but people breathing in the smoke.
  25. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) wow, a two page game thread. Thats not surprising. Flash's sig is though lol.
