  1. This is the kinda crap that pisses me off. "Football wouldn't be the same without the big boom at kickoff," wrote one student in a get-well card. What kind of s*** is that? Maybe the boys life might never be the same? This can make me go off, but I wont...
  2. Not a surprise, but it still gives you that "wow" feeling. Good luck to him. He was solid throughout his career all with the Twins.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) Because there's only 3 really proven guys. I'm not saying at least one of Aardsma/Logan/Sisco can turn out to be a fine reliever, but having one more solid reliever would go a long way in making our bullpen one of the best around. Also, definitely still need a back-up CF. Can't argue with that. While our bullpen should be great anything can happen. I wouldn't expect anyone important to be signed though, for the bullpen that is. What about Ben Grieve?
  4. Gload is one of my favorite players and even though I am sad to see him go I am glad that he will get consistent playing time since he's going to the Royals (I hope.) As far as Sisco, he had a terrible season in 06, but he has the tools and he has proved that he can be good. Very smart move by KW. Good luck Gload, I will keep my eye on you!
  5. Initially I thought all those homers came from hanging curves. I am sure some did, but I didn't know it was mostly from leaving the fastball up. Can anyone verify that he can pop the fastball at 95 consistently?
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) I can wait. I'm bummed I only have 1.5 semesters left. I'd switch with you any day. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) It's a very weird feeling, believe me. I bet it is considering a lot of people have been used to going to school their whole lives and then you're done.
  7. I can't wait until my final final of school period... which is still about 2 years away...
  8. Is it just me or does this seem like a bad thing from a business stand point? I mean to us, if we were to pull a Marlins restocking method then we need to do it soon. But you also have to remember the casual baseball fans and the people who have been selling out the cell the past few seasons. How are they going to view this after winning a WS now go to rebuilding?
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) I just want to comment... His full name is: Richmond Lockwood Sexson. Lol at the basis of your post.
  10. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Roto: Lol! He's not worth either pitcher? You would assume if someone were to acquire Crede it would be because they would want to keep him after 2 years.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) Pending a physical, per SI. What? You think thats a problem?
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) I love the guy and he'll always be one of my favorite players but I don't want him back on the Sox. Well put, there have been "rumors" of him coming back the day after we traded him.
  13. That's really good for Brandon. I am definitley glad to hear that.
  14. Good move even if I don't know anything about him. With Boras now representing a lot of young college players and Japanese players we need to use other resources to keep this ball club successful.
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 1, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Why does he deserve it? Because he had a handful of good-to-great outings for us in late 2005? I don't think that on merits he's especially better than any of our guys. And he was a good prospect before hand. And we need to mix in younger talent. And he is cheap. And he would be a waste in the minors. How many reasons do you need?
  16. While I think KW would go to camp with all 6, it won't happen.
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) I've never liked the, "Has to come from a playoff team" nonsense. It's not a player's fault that the rest of his team absolutely sucks. While I don't think the award HAS to go to a player on a playoff team I don't disagree with it. An MVP is the most important person on team, which he led to the playoffs. Howard did have a monster year, but Pujols should have got it.
  18. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) Fa. The article stated that Ricciardi doesn't want to resign Molina, also that the Barajas deal fell through. So Zaun appears to be it. Yeah, supposedly Barajas was a done deal with the Jays since all he had to do was the physical, but he probably got higher offers before the physical so he turned the Jays down looking for more. Riccardi seemed pretty pissed. Not many players left like JD who stands by his word.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) As some of you might remember, I'd ripped my knee apart in a post-practice accident (Soccer) and ripped everything up. Now that I'm almost at 100%, and have full diagnosis', I thought I'd share what was wrong and what's up. I cracked my femur bone, as well as the kneecap. Not fully, but slightly. (They're waiting to see if my cartilage falls off near the crack and then I'll require surgery.) I tore my menial meniscus. And I sprained every ligament in my knee. Not tore, but sprained them all combined. Not too bad, and the only one giving me substantial trouble is the cracked bone. It goes, Crrrrrrrrk all the time and if I move too fast, it aches like a bad ache. Fun with words. I'm almost fine, though, and I can run as hard as I used to and do all the things I enjoy. I find myself baseball sliding around on tile and merely enjoying my regained abilities. so thanks to everyone who'd been concerned and shared kind words. That's good to hear. Hope you get to 100% soon.
  20. Joe for Figgins is a starting point. Better involve some more names...maybe a Shields and Howie...Lol. Well if this is true then I guess Joe isn't trying to be signed long term with the sox.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) Mac can sit until he's willing to talk about the past. Nice.
  22. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) If we want a hurt, lefty, lead-off hitter for LF, how about Brad Wilkerson? He might get non-tendered by the Rangers. People were complaining about how much Pods was getting K'ed last season at the lead off spot. Imagine Wilkerson.
  23. I am not positive about this, but hasn't Durham had injury problems since he's left the sox?
  24. To me when remembering the 05 season: In no order, Crede, The Big 4 CG's, Uribe, Pods, PK. How great it was...
  25. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) I pretty much only play sports games. Thats the reason I have always liked PlayStation, I think they have better sports games. I was just curious if it is worth the extra money. Like Rock said above I could see the BluRay becoming a problem and not working after a period of time. In the WSJ today they had a clip about a team that took the PS3 apart. They said that Sony packed a lot of stuff into such a tight space and it took some special design technology or what not. That all means to me that it will break sooner or later. I have had 3 PS2s. All of them went bad with Disc Read Errors. That sucks. I finally got the nerve to open mine the other day and fix that error. It's pretty easy. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) well I dont know what you do to your systems lol, i have one ps2 and never had a problem with it lol. Also there are warranty's for a reason lol. And no the dragon game wasnt cartoonish im thinking of lol... If he has 3 that were made around the same time (I think the SCPH 30001 or something) then they all have that problem sooner of later. It has nothing to do with the owner. Mine has been immaculate like the day I took it out of the box and it gave me problems after a few years.
