  1. 1 out of 3 is worse case scenario. 2 out of 3 is good. The bad history in Oakland has come far enough. If we expect to compete in this division we need to win. Not make excuses every time. We need to create our own breaks. Every year it's always a bad call, errors, sunlight, whatever.
  2. There are no drivers for anything and some important software doesn't work from xp to Vista. That is a huge downfall right now. Besides that, businesses don't want to upgrade because it would be a big expense with hardware upgrades. My personal opinion is it's borderline crap and okay. I don't like the fact that pretty much everything has been re-organized so stuff is not where it used to be, but I will get used to it. The security is a joke and the networking sucks no matter which version you have. The GUI is more like Mac OS. You can add me to the list of people who have a damn hard time connecting to wireless internet. Connecting to the network is different from xp so you just have to make sure you give rights to everyone and turn off password protected sharing if you want to share something easily. Oh and transfer rates from Vista to xp and down is slowed down, but Vista to Mac or vice versa is instant! Just like xp, wait until service pack 2 until everything is working how it's supposed to be.
  3. QUOTE(forrestg @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) Danks pitched well except for one pitch? Actually he pitched great but it was 3 straight pitches that they saw real well. I was at the game.. I don't know who is responsible for the pitch selection but danks was holding the twins at bay except for those 3 pitches the final one of course Morneau's home run. Each of the hits was solid the first 2 base hits were hit very hard the last morneau go under. What pitches were hit? I'm blaming AJ for calling those beach balls... I never said that.
  4. It did not look good for Danks the first few innings. He was pretty much a one pitch pitcher and still got it done. Tip my hat to the guy especially after seeing his final line of 6 K's. It's not a bad thing to lose vs. Johan so a very positive start for Danks. It isn't looking good tomorrow... Not only because we don't know what the hell is going to happen with Count, but vs Harden? 17.2 innings pitched and 29 K's for Harden in ST? Count better be on top of his game.
  5. Rooting for the big man all the way. It would have been nice to hear that 500 call from Rooney and Hawk.
  6. Lets go Danks! Hopefully Danks gives us at least a chance for the win which would mean he would have to pitch real good. Maybe we can get a few runs off their bullpen like yesterday. haha.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Anyone else excited to check out Grindhouse? YES!!
  8. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) Ah, that's what I thought. But if you kill those, don't you kill all forms of those? Yeah, anytime you try to open up some kind of configuration tool or anything like that.
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 09:29 AM) O.K., what is "User Access Control" and what happens when I disable it? Annoying dialog boxes that come up every time you try to do something asking you "are you sure you want to do this?"
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Wasn't he on Planet of the Apes?
  11. That could be wrong. He did say he wanted Zito money.
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) I kind of think blunt force trauma is better than any flavor of Windows. That said, I just bought my Wintel-loving statistically significant other a new HP Pavilion laptop with Vista pre-installed, so i know I'm just asking for trouble. It's a pain in the ass. As soon as you get it make sure to disable User Access Control. Don't worry though besides all the incompatible applications everything else is pretty much the same...even though they moved EVERYTHING around to different spots. They also made it all bubbly and colorful. At least the search tool works now.
  13. Add Nate Cornejo to that list... and his old teammate Jeremy Bonderman.
  14. If the scrubs don't re sign him and we actually talk to him, but fall short I will still be happy... Johan will be available next season. That's dreaming though.
  15. That is awesome man! Good luck! "I had an idea once..... well alright... a JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS MAT!"
  16. Yeah and that payroll flexibility would be gone if Arod were to sign.
  17. Sisco is going to be very wild at times and with Guillen's stubbornness he will leave him in there until the game is out of reach. Even then though he is still the better option after Haeger. Aaradsma better not make it. Floyd needs to start in AAA so he can work on the things Coops wants him to.
  18. I really hope he recovers and does good. He did so much for us there no way you can't root for the guy.
  19. Wow, I am really glad they went with who deserved it. I hope he pitches good enough to stay the whole year. We cannot start another roulette wheel if we are to stay in contention this year. Congrats and good luck to Danks!
  20. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) Why would he be done? He is still fairly young, and could at least add depth in the minors. Also, I hope he bounces back. My question is does he still have those wicked breaking pitches? If so, and he is healthy, watch out. I think he has tons of potential still. I also think the Bullpen might be an option for him. He's 24 and and is in AA. Still trying to come back from TJ surgery and while there is a high success rate that doesn't mean he will be his old self. He might turn out to be okay with another year or two, but he will only get older which means he has less chances of succeeding. Even if you look at it from an organizational stand point he has been passed by so many guys. Broadway, McCullough, Russel, Haeger, Sisco, Masset, Floyd, Gio and I might have missed some. This is assuming these guys have a long term plan of being starters. Even if the guys I mentioned still have a few years to go, their not as old or are recovering from injury.
  21. Here's an interesting article about what happened to Honel. I remember reading so many good things about this kid. I also remember reading about his injury and everyone hoping it wasn't serious. Link Unless he has some type of surprise great season this year he's done.
  22. Unless something happens Russel should be in AA starting. He has good tools. Especially now that he is working on arm angles. Let him harness the ability to throw strikes with different arm angles and he could turn out to be something good.
  23. Thomas Diamond from the Rangers will have TJ Surgery...ouch! Link
  24. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) I remember that Boone Logan game. Ouch. I feel bad for him; I hope he gets a second chance and makes the most of it. I have a feeling if Logan sticks with the team he will surprise a few around here. For some reason I think his second time around will be good whether its a call-up or opening day. Besides Aardsma has some control issues to work on.
