  1. I'll add a question of my own. How do low profile tires drive in the snow on a FWD car? I am also looking for another car these days and like any other college student I am on a tight budget. I am looking at a Civic, Accord, and an Eclipse. Any other suggestions or comments on the cars I listed? QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) So after having my new car for several months I have decided that its really not fast/sporty enough for my tastes. I have a Lexus SUV, and although its a really nice car, I need something with a little more balls. My question is: Does anyone in chicago drive a rear-wheel drive coupe or car, and what are your experiences with our weather? I have only owned SUV's with 4 wheel drive and I am a little apprehensive to move to a rear wheel drive car. I have a friend who has a Mustang and had a Thunderbird both RWD and you really have to learn how to drive it in the snow and its tendencies. His Mustang has traction control which makes things a lot easier so I think once you get used to it along with the traction control it shouldn't be too bad.
  2. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) So what's up with this guy? He tears up April in 2006, then falls off the face of the earth when the Tigers sign Sean Casey. Now what is hilarious is that Shelton is a lifetime .280 hitter with very similar power numbers compared to Casey, but for some reason they like Casey over Shelton. Why would Detroit keep Casey when Shelton is a cheaper alternative? Casey is batting .180 this season with 0 HRs and 1 RBI, while Shelton is batting .302, 1 HR, and 8 RBI in AAA. Is there something about Shelton that I am missing? I know he struggled later in 2006, which made them make the move for Casey, but it looked like he was back in the groove in Spring Training when Shelton batted .388 with 2 HRs compared to Casey at .278 and 0 HRs. Even though the positions are different, this reminds me of the whole Anderson/Erstad situation, except Shelton had shown a pretty high ceiling. I don't know any more than you do, but my perception is that they because they made it to the WS last year, and want to win it this year, they want to go with someone who is proven and not take a gamble with the kid.
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:52 PM) AJ can bunt. I see.
  4. Didn't ozzie say he wasn't going to make guys bunt who couldn't?
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Its amazing there were doubts Aardsma was even going to make this team out of ST and now he is one of the best we have... He wasn't pitching like this in ST.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:13 PM) Who do we have available in the pen? Thornton is the only guy who didn't go yesterday. Boone pitched, but not much.
  7. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) Nice spot for some power Joe! Can you say, this team is on a roll, with strong pitching and clutch hitting. Seeing us comeback seems so promising right now.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) Joe OWNS at Comerica Haha he does indeed.
  9. Thames K's. Good job by Garland keeping them down. They made him throw some pitches that inning, but the important part is were still tied. woops thought that was 3 for some reason...
  10. My goodness. Aside from yesterday PK is about the best rally killer in the majors.
  11. JG has been very efficient today. Time for the offense to untie this game.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) Something I just looked up. Sox are dead last in doubles with 16, and the Twins lead with 46. Why do you need doubles when you can grind your way to first?
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) Wow....thankfully PK has two big hits this series, cause this is as bad as he's looked in a long time. Give him a day off tomorrow or Tuesday. PK could definitely use a day off. Toby can back him up at 1st...oops
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) Going to be hard to do that with a straight as an arrow 89 MPH fastball and a change he can't keep down in the zone while pitching half his games in Arlington. I still don't get why people didn't like that trade. Looked like a fleece from day 1 IMO. The only mistake this offseason was not getting more for Freddy, at least in regards to trade mistakes. Well he looked good while he was here. His changeup was a very good pitch and you'd expect him to put on a few more pounds and hopefully add a few MPH to his fastball. Besides he is a smart guy and has composure. His curve isn't that bad either. As far as keeping the ball down, every pitcher has to keep the ball down. Especially when its a change that's being left up. Like I said it's still early.
  15. Oh man... I feel bad for bmac. I really criticized KW for the trade and I admit it, but bmac cannot be be this bad... It's still the beginning of the season, but bmac has not held his own at all...
  16. I thought about it after I read about it, but don't they have some type of copyright protection on their stuff so you can't play it on anything besides an iPod? Someone mentioned that you could also download it at mlb.tv. Do they have any type of protection on it?
  17. Good job on the comeback. Aardsma just continues to impress. Great win, keep it going.
  18. Alright. Javy once again with a good performance. Offense is slowly getting better and the pitching needs to keep doing a good job. PK is in one hell of a rut. Go get em tomorrow Danks.
  19. I know some type of wallpapers will be made for Buehrle's no hitter so I am going to request if anyone can make a wallpaper with some pictures of today's game. Specifically pictures with headlines and sort of make a whole desktop with all the headlines from some web sites with like a newspaper theme or something. It might be too much and look crappy, but I know there are some people that can whip up some cool stuff. I took a bunch of screen caps of the headlines on the sites too...
  20. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I GOT HOME ONLY TO SEE "BUEHRLE NO HITS RANGERS." I didn't believe it so I looked at the box and saw zeroes!!!
