  1. I am glad Boozer didn't primordially scream on that dunk. I hate when he does that so much.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Really that's not why the bulls are behind at all. The Bulls defense has been fine this series, they just can't score in the fourth quarter and at other critical times during the game. This IS the reason they are behind.
  3. When you have only one scorer, you simply can't win. Bulls are really good, but will not be able to beat the Heat in any 7-game series without a better secondary scoring option.
  4. Dayan smoking the ball. Three doubles, 3/4 overall.
  5. Up 8 to down 3 in five minutes. God this team needs a secondary scorer so bad.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) If only we had a prospect in our system that could mash lefty pitching!! .900 OPS against 'em and a 8/10 BB/K ratio.
  7. Here's a guy who I think could be the perfect fit for the Bulls in the draft. http://www.wsucougars.com/sports/m-baskbl/...son_klay00.html Unfortunately, he probably won't slip to the Bulls pick even if they package both first-round picks to move up. Ironically, Klay Thompson is Trayce's brother. Klay would be the perfect 2-guard for the Bulls.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:43 AM) That never, ever happens on the Sox. I just realized how many grammatical errors were made in my last post. That was uglier than Dunn's swing.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) Um, I care. We're paying the guy a lot of money. I expect him to put up his career numbers, not his worst season by far. I envy the optimism, but when is this supposed to start? To me he is the opposite of Jose Bautista who re-invented his swing and is a god now (maybe there are other factors, too, but whatever). Meanwhile Dunn has a horrible swing mechanically that is prevented him from making consistent contract. He just doesn't even look like he has a chance when he goes to the plate.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) It was in poor taste mags Oh, I fully admit that. And in hindsight, that is one I should have probably kept inside.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) There are jokes and then there are statements that cause the person making them to look horrible. OK, I look horrible. And I don't care.
  12. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) Really dude? QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Clearly we've decided to make Juan look good in comparison by making complete fools of ourselves. It's a joke. Don't be so high strung.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) The other thing I noted about our team is we seem to give up alot of firsts to the opposig players. 1st win, 1t homerun of their career, now Hamilton got his first of the year We also have a lot of firsts, too, like the first Major League Baseball player with a vagina (Juan Pierre).
  14. Can we please score some runs now? 2-3-4 and hopefully a whole lot more!!! **That has an awesome ring to it, Hawk should use it.
  15. I know I am late to the party, but I f***ING HATE JUAN PIERRE.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) But he's been benched for a string of games after having a breakout game. What gives? It's called Mother f***ing Ozzie Ball!!! Get on board or miss the train!
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ May 23, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) You can't evaluate a trade until down the line unless the player acquired goes on to win a championship right when you get him. So if Edwin Jackson went on to win a championship with the Sox last year, you could automatically call it a good trade, and whatever Hudson did in his career would still make the trade worth it. Or even if they win this year with Jackson in the rotation, fine, good trade. However, without actually making the playoffs, the trade hasn't been worth it so far. And as far as Hudson beating the Padres or Twins or whomever, who cares? They're major league teams, and he beat them. Mark Buehrle has made a career on beating bad teams. Nothing against Buehrle, but he's just doing what he's supposed to. Not this debate again.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) The Yankees are going to trade for at least one more starter. I can't see anyway around that. If Santos hadn't been as good as he has been in the pen, I would be interested in seeing him close. He could be lights out with the stuff he has, and not having to worry about throwing 100 pitches. On the other hand, I am still a bit nervous about counting on Humber in a pennant race. Yeah, Humber very well could fall apart (and we have no options in the minor leagues), so likely Humber will be moved out of the rotation and become the swing man -- something I will be vehemently against when it happens since he has been our best starter all year. I honestly think that happens unless Jackson completely implodes.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2011 -> 08:14 AM) I see Jackson as a guy that is probably giving Cooper fits at night. One day he is absolutely unhittable, the next he can't find the strike zone with google maps. I have no problem believing the Sox would deal him to get some pieces for this run, or even prospects to fill up the system. Yeah, he ain't coming back either, so makes sense. I think he would make a great arm for the pen during the stretch run if not traded. Obviously this six-man deal is coming to an end soon (according to KW), so somehow has to be moved from the rotation, and it should be E-Jax despite having the best stuff on the staff in all likelihood (at least when he is on). Do we dare offer him up to the Yankees? Maybe the Cubs? The latter is especially intriguing; they are in the race and need starters.
  20. @ Texas (3; 24-23) @ Toronto (4; 23-23) @ Boston (3; 24-21) vs. Detroit (3; 23-23) vs. Seattle (3; 22-24) vs. Oakland (4; 22-25) @ Minnesota (3; 15-30) @ Arizona (3; 23-23) vs. Cubs (3; 20-24) vs. Washington (3; 21-25) @ Colorado (3; 23-22) @ Cubs (3; 20-24) vs. Kansas City (3; 22-24) vs. Minnesota (4; 15-30) I mean seriously, that's incredible. We play no one that is really good. That Toronto series really scares me however since we suck in that dome. But we should seriously kick some ass based on how we are playing. So currently the Sox are 22-26, and we have 45 games til the All-Star break. Where do you think the Sox are at the break? I will go with 48-45 (26-19 til the break).
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2011 -> 12:07 AM) Before trying to trade for a third baseman, the Rockies probably will see what they can get from Josh Fields. The former White Sox player entered the weekend hitting .363 with seven homers and 30 RBIs for Triple-A Colorado Springs. from Phil Rogers' "Whispers" at www.chicagotribune.com/sports Well I already know what they will see from Fields: a lot of swing and misses with the occasional glimpse of power.
  22. With that mod statement above, this site is probably the best with the mods/administrators not being dicks. Go to WSI or RealGM and they all have this arrogance to them. Here it ain't that way.
  23. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Yeah, and I try to keep up the routine on the road with the bands. But when I've got a 6AM flight, then drive straight to the plant and don't get back to the hotel until 8 or 9 at night, it's a little hard to get motivated for an hour+ (with abX) workout. Those are awful. Can't even really do a run before the plane and with the travel + work, no way you wanna move afterward.
  24. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 19, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) Why will he hit better here? That makes no sense to me at all actually that sounds assinine. I read that too and laughed. I cannot take KW seriously when he talks about our prospects.
  25. The people I would ignore (there are almost none), I wouldn't want to because I like seeing their idiotic posts and snidely rebutting them.
