  1. I would have to imagine that Iguchi, Garland, Buerhle and Hermy (if he continues to pitch amazing-even if he is in a closer by committee.) Possibly even El-Duque if he keeps it up and Freddy and Jose might have a shot if they get some more wins. Basically, Hermy and the starters all derserve to go, but we know that would never happen.
  2. http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/index.jsp It's on the top of the page right now, Brian sounds like a really good guy.
  3. So far Donn Paul is terrible. Maybe a little early jitters and he will be better but so far all "uh's" and "ands." Not good right now.
  4. http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/r...ses/?id=3154432 That sucks, let's hope Gio is ok and this start won't cost him the Minor League Strikeout lead.
  5. The guy I want, who I wanted a couple of months ago when we were talking draft is Craig Hansen. He has a 1.21 era, 37 innings, 53 K, and only 18 hits. He is a closer from St. Johns, and I know a lot of you don't want a reliever in the first, but we have been without consistency at the closer's role for many years. He has got 3 pitches, fastball mid to upper 90's, big slider and developing change. I think he is one of the best pitchers in the draft, period and would be great for the Sox. He would be easy to sign and would allow us to in the 3rd or 4th take a guy who was considered hard to sign and give him the $ that we save from Hansen and the 2nd round pick that we don't have.
  6. Reiner was added when Deng went down. So no more roster spots
  7. We are screwed this series, Jose will blow the game and we will have no bullpen for Tuesday. Why can't he pitch like he was supposed to and why do we have to pay $8 million for this s***?
  8. Huge Momentum boost for Jose, look for him to settle down and us to get on a roll
  9. At least Jose looks like he is throwing really hard, but his splitter isn't being commanded so far
  10. If any of you are interested, I know there was a thread a little while back about Jermaine being on MTV's Cribs. Well, at about 9:40 CT, he will be on. Just giving everybody a late heads up if they are interested.
  11. Reading the live box scores, B-Mac went 7 innings with 2 hits allowed, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and 10 strikeouts. Unfortunately, a no-decision, but a very strong outing nonetheless.
  12. I look at the Indians roster and it doesn't look like a strong offensive club as Hafner and Martinez are the only real great hitters, but somehow Eric Wedge gets them to play well. I still don't think they will be as good offensive this year, some of thier guys had career years and will not repeat them with the exception of Hafner and Martinez. However, where they might regress in hitting, the rotation is solid and they got a better bullpen. All in all, it's going to be a great competitive year.
  13. Rush has been compared to McGrady with a better shot and less altheticism at the same age by his high school coach--coincidentally at Mt. Zion HS, the same school T-Mac went to. I heard the Rush really likes Dee Brown game, so his decision could be swayed based on Dee's decision to go pro or not to go pro. Although 2005 class looks weak and will be moved up to solid if Rush comes, 2006 looks real good and so does 2007. 2006: Sherron Collins (Dee Brown like), Scheyer, Thaddeus Young, Mike Conley. They will hopefully get 2 of the 4. And in 2007: Simeon's Derrick Rose who is the 4th rated soph. in the country and Eric Gordon from I think Indiana is high on the list. The next few classes look promising, so hopefully all the recognition will get the Illini these big time recruits.
  14. Do it: Perez>>Halladay & Pods/Rowand > Carbrera However, if you can't use Rowand and Pods, and one will go to the bench--maybe not. But right now, you get the better deal
  15. I am liking Hawk and Farmio, interesting conversation, but some I can't understand because it's like you have to know him or have been there stuff. But, Farms is much better than D.J., overall good combo.
  16. Widger numbers have shown he sucks, Burke has done nothing but hit in the majors with the Sox. The only reason Burke goes down instead of Widger is because Widger can hit for much more power than Burke.
  17. How bout Davis for Ginter. I would rather have Matt Ginter back as a middle reliever instead of Cliff "oops I gave up another homerun" Politte.
  18. Kruk, Reynolds Hitting Tigers, Indians Fielding Twins, Twins Starters Indians, Indians Bullpen Twins, Twins Team Twins, Indians -Also there was no mention at all of the Sox or Royals. Ozzie should really show these guys some of this stuff and use all the preview crap as bulletin board material. I like the fact that we are under-the-radar and not mentioned, much less pressure. BTW, the fielding issue bothers me, Torri Hunter is awesome, but the Twins are average at best everywhere else, with Cuddyer and Morneau are pretty bad. The sources for the preview are bad too, Kruk and Reynolds are morons.
