  2. We need a guy that would do the same thing as we had Bobby Howry do in 2000-2002. He was the heat throwing set up man, too bad he resigned with Cleveland because I would have liked him in the pen this year. Anyways, I agree with most people here that we need a 8th inning right-handed guy.
  3. He was endorsed by both Ozzie and Tim Raines, and we have both of them. Seems like a reasonable fit, why not try and get him? He has a cannon of an arm and plays great defense according to the article. I say we should try and get him.
  4. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writ...tove/index.html We are now becoming the laughing stock of the league more and more each year.
  5. Why get Randy when you can get a Matt Clement or Russ Ortiz? Sure Randy is better, but will be more than double the salary of both and Randy is 10 years older than both. Finally, the gain of Ortiz or Clement while still having Garland and Konerko is way better than Losing Garland and Konerko while obtaining Randy.
  6. The Sox apparently offered a 2-year, $4 million to Walker--comes source at http://mb3.scout.com/fchicagocubsfrm1.show...cID=18929.topic -This one doesn't seem like a made up rumor, it actually seems true as evident by the Sox lowballing an offer to him And on ESPN Radio 1000, Harry of Mac, Jurko and Harry said the Kenny Williams has jumped into the Edgar Renteria contest. Not the best sources, but both seem accurate
  7. I would be willing to deal a Jon Adkins or or some lower level minor leaguers. If he were to come to the Sox, the whole AL would have really never seen him and armed with his stuff, he could be very successful.
  8. Could someone post a summary at the end for those of us that can't listen. Obviously, 3 hours will be hard to do, but could someone just post the important Sox stuff. Thanks.
  9. http://www.nj.com/yankees/ledger/index.ssf...80952144860.xml If you don't care to read, it mentions the Sox are possible suitors for: pavano, nomar and Renteria. Take it for what it's worth
  10. Was this taken from the Whitesox.com board because I saw the same rumor. I don't trust anything at Whitesox.com. However, the deal makes sense for both teams, and Hudson makes us the AL Central Favorites easliy.
  11. He just exercised his 2005 player option for $4.5 million, so he ain't coming here.
  12. I would try and sign Gabe Kapler and Doug Mirabelli, both are cheap and "grinders" who play they game hard. Mirabelli would instantly become our best catcher and we all know that Ozzie loves 3 catchers. Any thoughts on these guys?
  13. $ 4 million dollars for a still great fielding SS and a great leader with a solid average/OPB, is a good deal. However, in the article, Gammons says "The White Sox have little money, and Ken Williams is starting at shortstop and trying to find a starter and an outfielder ... " I hope he is wrong about the money part, but I think after we get Visquel we will go after Dye or Hidalgo and a solid starter. I don't think this is raising payroll that much, but I don't know for a fact.
  14. My guess is our opening day payroll will be around $72 million, I don't think Reinsdorf will greatly raise the payroll, but $5-7 million is a good bet.
  15. I would never (unless this is 5 years ago) pay $13 million dollars a year for Pedro. You could spend this money combined on J.D. and Glendon Rusch or any number of other combinations. At $13 million dollars, he is too much of an inconsistent headcase, we would be wise to spend the money elsewhere. Or even you could use this money for a combination of Derek Lowe and Glendon Rusch would make us better becasue, we not only would have both of them, but we could trade Garland to an NL team for some relief help, or to Baltimore or Texas for a prospect and cap room.
  16. Even if the Yanks pay $1o million, I would get him; what do you think they would want a Willie Harris, if that? Kenny call Cashman, if the Yankees are serious about paying all of his salary, it's basically a no risk situation. Go Do It KENNY!!!!
  17. Also Borchard is moving farther away from any major league job with a .074 average in the Mexican League.
  18. Anderson is batting .304, with 1 homer and 5 RBI's. More inpressively he has a .452 OBP. It looks like he will be in Spring Training fighting Borchard and Everett for a job. Also, Pedro lopez is batting .333 with 5 RBI's and Casey Rogowski is batting .400
  19. http://rotoworld.com --It's on the baseball part
  20. I know he can play RF, even though his main position is LF. Ozzie probably would be able to get him straightened out and his $3 million dollar for the last year of his contract. That would give Anderson a good amount of time in AA and AAA, so he can be ready for 2006. Plus, what would we have to give up for Guillen, Harris and somebody else. He is wanted in Anaheim and the Sox could give him a good home with all their latin players and coaches. Any thought?

  22. Felix deserves to start the rest of the year, in fact I would venture to say even if Freddy comes back that we go with a 6-man rotation. Buerhle, Garcia, Contreras, Garland, Diaz and Grilli. There is no sense in hurting any of their arms because there is no chance for the postseason for us. Just let Freddy take his time and let Felix get 6 Major League starts in a row.
  23. Maybe we can trade Garland for Santana, seeing as the Twins would like pay Garland $1.5 million as opposed to Santana at probably $5 million through arbitration
  24. Could I have one with Garcia, Buerhle and Contreras with my name somewhere. Thanks
