QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) god, you guys are nuts. i can't wait to go back. Same...It's just the classes I'm not looking forward to.- Would you vote Palmeiro into the HoF?
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Four of the best players of this era, hell possibly ever, not in the Hall? That would be incredible. Pete Rose isn't in the HOF either because he didn't follow one of the few rules MLB players have to follow. If those players can't follow them either, they don't deserve to be there.- Reebok-adidas merger a blockbuster
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...rren&id=2123332- Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) And I wouldn't expect anything less from the best GM on the board. Also, KW changed his views on Frank of late... http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/media/...ms0729_16x9.wmv- Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.
In the past, Griffey said he never wanted to play in NY. He's got his no-trade to fall back on too.- Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Now that this is out, I don't think NY or Boston would let Griffey get through waivers. Would Griffey's no-trade play any part in this though?- Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.
And we kind of went blind over a couple tidbits in that first post.... End of the Timo era?- Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) Reds are horrible. Anyway, never know what else would've went down had this trade gone down. Maybe Carl or Paul would've been moved. ^That.^ Griffey would've been huge; I love what KW does. I wish the "seller" teams were able to go about business the right way this deadline. Maybe we'll get him off waivers.- How'd you find this place?
Soxnet. I used to frequent that a lot. I found the boards, and I lurked for a decent amount of time before I ever posted.- Do the Sox need to look over their shoulders
I know this wasn't the entire intention of this thread, BUT.... If you need to find the negative in something, call a Sox fan.- Would you vote Palmeiro into the HoF?
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:11 AM) He without a doubt deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Bonds, Sosa, McGwire will all be inducted and all are just as guilty as Palmiero, if not more. Should these four guys, quite possibly four of the best players in this generation, not be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Not if they're cheating, which you think they are by saying they're just as guilty.- 3 hole hitter
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) We might all think a change should be made.....but Ozzie isn't changing s***, as long as we're winning games. I'm not sure I want either Rowand or Everett batting 3rd. Rowand hasn't shown me much of an ability at all this season to knock in runs. How long before someone brings up Huff in this thread? Post 12.- McCarthy rolling with it
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Bobby Jenks. Ah good call. I'd love to see B-Mac on the expanded roster until the Sox are done just for the sake of experience though.- McCarthy rolling with it
The White Sox' K-Rod in the playoffs?- 3 hole hitter
Everett should be moved down; I agree with that. This is going to end up turning into a tweak the lineup thread, and I just have to say one thing. Pods and Gooch should be the 1-2 in every lineup that is going to be written out in the rest of this thread. Yes, Gooch could have better numbers in a different spot in the lineup, but he's the only one that's going to have the success rate and patience to do what he's done behind Pods this year.- New info on Raffy
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2123113- Dead arm period?
With the exception of JG tonight and the Count against Baltimore, their numbers look the same has they have all year. It's just one night, no reason to overreact yet.- New info on Raffy
As he should be.- Back Home Again Thread 8-2-05
f***ing A, we're always getting drilled. And now we can't retaliate. :fyou Toronto!- Back Home Again Thread 8-2-05
Blue Jays broadcast suggests Ozzie's trying to get the team and crowd fired up. Sounds good to me.- Back Home Again Thread 8-2-05
