QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) the cubs need alot more than a leadoff man to make a run. More toothpicks.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Yes and Bryan Dolgin is now Refering to Ryan Meaux as Ryan Moh! :puke Anyways thumbs up to KW for not making any moves just to make a move. He made a good pick up with Blum and i think we will like Blum a lot. I'd figure he'd be saying it right then. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Dec 27, 2004 -> 10:50 PM) Meaux........how is that pronounced? QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 27, 2004 -> 10:51 PM) Mow.... Like mowing the lawn

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Kenny has said he isn't willing to trade away the farm for a rental player. I trust his judgement that we wouldn't be able to get someone decent without giving up too much. Look around the league too, how many blockbuster trades were there? It looks to me like the deals weren't there to be made. Just enjoy this season, seriously, some people on here would find a way to complain if we won the division by 10 games instead of 20.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) is that you anthrax? Nope. Anthrax likes the move.

Content. I still think KW gets another plug-in through waivers.

Here's a perfect thread for you bud to get good evidence of what you're saying, if it's even there. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?ac...=40&t=37950&st=

Are they going to be in uniform tonight?

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) No it is not your fault. However, sometimes posting etiquette or dare I say common sense says to say something like the following: "The sportscenter guy just said Tracey to the White Sox ... from the Padres ... something is messed up here ... maybe I will just wait until they announce it again and report back to the thread." OR Maybe wait to post until you know the whole story. The last I checked, there is no SoxTalk Door Prize for being the first one to post stuff. Maybe it's better to accurate than speedy ... Josh is getting the short end of the stick here. It was on WSI too. He probably didn't say anything about the Padres the first time he said it, from the looks of it. If anyone deserves to be ripped, it's the guys at the station. Josh deserves an apology.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) Why the hell do that to Ross???? Can Blum play 1st base or something? Yep. He can play second base, third base, shortstop, first base and the outfield.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) About what!?!? What he heard.
-
Also for the people that are deciding to ream Kenny since there wasn't a deal. Name a team that made a deal you're jealous of. I'm not impressed with any of the deals.
-
And think about this, for the most part, all the teams are going to stay exactly the same. We've gotten this far against these teams with these guys. I like our chances.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) When did he say this? This has to help Thomas' chance at being a 1st ballot guy. It was on the Sun-Times site today. So I assume it was in today's paper and was said sometime this weekend. -
QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Trade WINDS?, more like a fart. How many teams made big moves? Do you HONESTLY think KW just did not even try. Teams aren't budging, and the teams that were sellers overpriced what they had.

QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I hope he deals with losing as well as he deals with winning. I don't think we'll have to worry about that. -

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 08:00 AM) You too? I have a bunch of Fisk cards. Probably 2 or 3 hundred of them, all different. I'm the same with Frank. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) theres alot i got a hat with a bunch of sigs, ozzie, wimpy, minoso, thiggy and don pall. i also took some good pics at spring training 2004. but man.....ill tlel you what, those old little league frank thomas cleats that have the zebra stripes on the side, and on the back it says "35 big hurt" they had a pic in the trib of frank wearin em that reminded me i still had em. those are sweet I had those. I used to get all the Frank shoes when he was with Reebok. -
Bests to Allen Thomas and his family. It sounds like he's had a rough year. Very cool what Ozzie's trying to do. This will all turn out right.

Sox wondering about Franks future
greasywheels121 replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) that's it. Frank would have 500 HR now if he hadn't been so patient at the plate. That's what made him such a great hitter. He'd have 500 HRs if didn't lose so much time to injury in the new century. -
Sox wondering about Franks future
greasywheels121 replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) yes. Especially with all the steroid stuff that has gone down. Like him or not, Frank never took steroids and even voters who hate frank have to look at that. He accomplished all of that stuff without steroids unlike some other players(McGwire and Sosa). Also i believe he is the only player besides Babe Ruth and I believe Lou Gehrig to hit .300 with 30+ HR, 100 RBI, and 100 walks for at least 5 seasons in a row. I might be wrong on this but i'm pretty sure i'm this is correct. Frank's the only one to hit .300, have 100+ RBIs, 100+ BBs, 100+ Rs, and 20+HR in 7 straight years. Ted Williams did it in 6 IIRC. -
QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) Reading the paper the other day, I realized that if Ryne Sandberg is a Hall of Famer, Thomas will no doubt be in there, and definetly should be in on the first ballot. I hope so. Like I said in a thread a while back, I forget where, but it seems outside of White Sox fandom, Frank's just a 50/50 at even being there. This from an ESPN.com poll: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...g?event_id=1506

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) Did you know Joe Crede has no middle name? True story. Hopefully he can pull an Aaron Boone to an opposing team in the fall, and he'll get a middle name.
