  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) I agree with all these things. That was just something I picked up on. I DEFINITELY am hoping a trade for Overbay can be made now or in the off-season but I just don't see it happening before the deadline. IN the offseason, I'd LOOVE for KW to get him here. Crede definitely will be here next year, I agree but is seems KW is looking for people to back him up or give him some time off. To me, I can care less, I like Joe. Clark was just I name I threw in because I saw it in another thread. What makes you so sure we will not get Lowell? AJ Burnett will NOT be traded, and the Sox aren't going to trade just for Mike Lowell.
  2. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) If Frank retires I would be shocked. He knows he can still hit. That lower leg area was like a toothpick. If he can build muscle to better support the bone structure while rehabbing I definitely see him giving it another shot. I just hope if he does give it another go, it's here. I'd be crushed to see him play MLB in a uniform that's not the White Sox.
  3. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) I didnt really expect to win BOTH games the cubans started against a line up with the O's offense. Jose just beat himself today. Burnett would have been nice. Burnett has NOTHING to do with today. Stop. He's NOT getting traded.
  4. Haha, I want Wagner, but not that bad. Who's playing 3B then? Ozuna? f*** that.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Yep, and he almost had himself a cheap double out of it. Sometimes, it's better to let these guys do the job themselves instead of giving up an automatic out. If it gets the job done, I'm not going to complain. Iguchi's not like all of us; he's not selfish.
  6. Viz had a 2.25 ERA in June, and currently has a 1.29 ERA for the month of July.
  7. Geez. Come on guys, please keep the trade talks in the trade forum. Every thread ends up turning into this of late. Nothing new ever comes to the table in these discussions either.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) Probably a replay from last evening? Nope it was live this morning.
  9. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Come playoff time, I look forward to seeing El Duque on the hill. ^^^ That's what he's all about. What he's doing as our 5th starter, is just icing on the cake.
  10. That's the thing. None of these teams are really out of it, and they're not going to act that way. Yes, the Giants are 45-57, 5.5 out of 1st. However, the Padres are leading the division at 51-52. Ridiculous.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) Well then I was watching a re-run of SportsCenter because that's what they were showing with Buster Olney. I saw the same thing, and I'm trying to figure out what's going on there. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=805141
  12. Is this for real or is ESPN (Buster Olney, really) just clueless? I was watching this morning, and they were mentioning prospects the Red Sox could move to look at Guardado. Kelly Shoppach's name came up; however, he's in this deal.
  13. SWEET 16: A LOOK AT FRANK THOMAS' CAREER WITH THE WHITE SOX Awards: 1993, 1994 American League Most Valuable Player. All-Star appearances: Three (selected to two others but was injured). 14. The updated version of WH's avatar.
  15. Nice job all around. Duque had a great start, and the offense had a strong night. 12.5 up!
  16. I like this one. I hate to lose BMac, but I can justify it for the addition of Wagner in the pen.
  17. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) This sucks ....how s***ty would it be if Thomas is not playing if we win our world series this year?????? It'd be bittersweet, but not s***ty at all.
  18. QUOTE(scotty22hotty @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) looks like another case of Oz playing injured players TOO EARLY Ha this isn't Ozzie's fault. Yes, he put Frank's name in the lineup, but Frank had to want to play. It's just an unfortunate situation, but Ozzie doesn't deserve blame.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) You heard wrong, I just replayed it on the Tivo and SC did say both Baez and Ramirez to the Mets. Perhaps you misheard. I have just confirmed what both Nite and I have posted is indeed what was said. Put it in the title of the thread or the subtitle, so people get the point. Because if not, we're going to have 0834084308 posts like this.
