  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) the problem as was documented, that signature by White was just window dressing, technically, and the US Senate had really no power in preventing a state gov. from electing it's senator. Well I think that Blago could compel White to sign -- as Sec of State he can't just refuse (i think). And your right about the Senate, they couldn't just expel Burris if he met the qualifications clause under Art I Sec 3. He could have held an impeachment trial and ousted him quickly... the senate holds the sole power to hear those proceedings. It would have been a pain in the ass.
  2. if he's ready to roll by opening day, and pitches decently... it also increases his trade value come the deadline win/win.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 10:53 AM) So about that special election that should have been called... i'm all in favor of reforming Illinois, and getting some political balance (how about a libertarian senator?) but since that wont happen, i was actually not in favor of the special election -- why? because it would cost too much f***ing money, aka the last thing we need right now. Now what should have happened is Harry Reid should have stuck to his guns and kept this moron out of the senate. Jesse White should have refused to sign. However, I'm sure that the Obama admin didnt want any unecessary distractions (logically) and they let him through. It was a risk, and now this s*** comes up. What do you do now? Beat the impeachment drum? I hate most Illinois Dems -- but as a country... do we really have time to deal with this?
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) The latest trade rumor just reported on 670 is Hinrich for Chris Kaman. That works for me. me too
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) Hinrich I think the Bulls would be able to trade if they want. He'd be exactly what the T-Wolves need (if they have the right expiring contracts to give up), so then they could concentrate on getting a good swingman in the draft. Like that little piece said though, I think the Bulls are stuck with Nocioni unless they want to take a bad contract back in return. dont you think that Nocioni has some value to a playoff team? I mean I can see why the t-wolves wouldn't want him, because hes not really a starter or a building block for the future, but a team like (hypothetically) Houston, Atlanta, Portland, Utah, could have interest in Noce and see him in the James Posey, Robert Horry role off the bench. Noce can hit a shot, take a charge, and play d... and his contract isn't that unreasonable. I dunno, just a thought
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) Given the salary issues and Chandler's continuing injury problems, I'd rather have Noah. At least they're trying to move the 2 right guys. I just hope Pax doesn't hold out for too much for them and takes cap space if it's offered. Are we sure that Pax is still at the helm at this point? Gar Forman had taken the lead in the Amare talks from what was reported. -- not that it really matters
  7. Suns Scored 140 tonight... and beat the Clippers by 40 in their first game under Gentry Awfully hard to trade Amare after that display. (yes, it was against the clippers).
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) If the Thunder drafted a SF/PF and was able to sign Gordon, I'd call them a playoff team for next season. Westbrook, Chandler, Durant, Gordon... and a potentially very high lottery pick? they would definitely contend for a playoff spot for sure. I hope Durant gets a chance to play on some good teams, he looks too good to go to waste.

    Why is it called

QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) Why is it called a one night stand when it is very rare to be standing? hmmmm.... I think i'm doing it wrong.
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) um...and by reported do you mean it was suggested by a columnist as a trade that he thinks should be made, but has absolutely no substance or rumor of it even being talked? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...eOptions-090217 Chill out. I understood the premise of the article. It sounds more like a deal the bulls would make, than a blockbuster like acquiring Amare. I apologize if I misled you. next time I will make sure not to label an article reported by, when its suggested by an author.
  11. Saints just dropped a Deuce.... Deuce McAllister.... I thought it was kind of a fun way to say that the saints cut Deuce McAllister. Might be a nice backup for Forte.
  12. This deal sounds more like a bulls move: NYK Tyrus Hughes Bulls Malik Allen David Lee Jared Jeffries This was reported on ESPN.com print your finals tickets now.
  13. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 09:11 AM) Paxson f'ed up when he put his eggs in the Deng/Gordon basket and is still afraid of moving any guy he drafts. Thomas may be good but I recall a few years ago when Deng was talked about as being a go to guy as well as Gordon. Paxson should give up whatever just to have the opportunity look at somethign different. It worked well for the Celtics. In regard to draft picks outside of Rose drafting highly has not working real well for the Bulls. i'm sure pax would gladly rid himself of Tyrus, Gooden et. al. the problem is, why the f*** would the Suns trade Amare for a trade centering around Tyrus? Tyrus is not good. He's not. Amare is good, he is. we're stuck with a bunch of s*** that nobody wants.
  14. QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) I don't think I can agree on that. However, Bosh is a STUD. it's arguable either way, neither are amazing defensively (again debatable who is worse), both can create their own offense, both are 6-10 (Amare is wider + weighs 20lbs more). Bosh has a higher PER 22.4-20.1 the value turns for me based on age (Bosh is a year and a half younger), injuries (amare had the microfracture surgery, and yes Bosh has missed time the past few years as well) and the talent around them -- I think Bosh has done more with less over the years. that being said... its a toss up, however, I'd still rather have Bosh probability of getting nobody? likely.
  15. New Rumor -- bigger, better rumor Amare to Bulls for Gooden, Tyrus, 1st Round Pick Amare from Bulls for Chris Bosh Bosh > Amare if this were to happen... wowzerz Source: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/basketball/...-bull17.article
  16. the last scene on the jetski was great... i love how he was riding high into the sunset after dropping the topless chick off the back. pretty fun stuff.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) This is updated as of an hr or so ago. Gooden, Tyrus, and Thabo is what the rumored package is to be. nice
  18. QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 11:58 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baske...0,6748210.story f***, why does this happen every year? Id prefer that we just sucked dick, and stayed out of trade rumors... I have honestly thought about Amare in a Bulls everyday since the rumor broke. Tyrus better keep progressing.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) Tonite at 10:30 eastern I am surprised you liked Hot Rod, I thought it was funny but I thought i was one of the few very few... i thought it was miserable. That being said, East bound and down had a nice little premiere... I see the potential.
  20. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 10:42 AM) I want to see Dwight Howard back in it next year. Nate Robinson will be back. It would be cool if Lebron James and another high profile player did it. I think bringing back vinsanity would be fun, I love MJ... be VC back in 2000 was probably the best I'd ever seen.
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 01:25 PM) Thomas and James have at least 1 if not 2 years left on their deals IIRC. ewwww... just keep hughes for next year.
  22. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) According to Rotoworld, the Wizards and Bulls were close to swapping Etan Thomas and Mike James for Larry Hughes ICK...thats crazy considering Larry Hughes was actaully pretty good on the Wizards a few years back - my how the mighty have fallen Are we getting back expiring contracts?
  23. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) entry pass to Aaron Gray, off his head and in. Cedric Simmons, Sneak Attack FTW
