  1. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 10:29 PM) He needs to go into full rebuilding mode and see what package he can get for Dirk and Kidd as well. I wonder if pax would be interested in a trade for Dirk, the Bulls have the pieces for a trade...

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 12:00 PM) Really enjoyed role models. Good movie to take your girlfriend too (assuming she can take a few crude jokes) because its a comedy with a solid story. Wow Jason, seems like you should perhaps cite my review... i pretty much said the same thing. Im filing a plagiarism complaint against you to the review board (me). I find you guilty.
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) LMAO! Well, I never heard that. So, I cant confirm or deny that. But you get the idea of what I meant. I thought Bebe was such a great wife?
  4. I like the idea, KW seemingly wants to reformat this lineup over the next couple years.... I'm just surprised that Swish had such little value.
  5. Awesome. Im sure TCQ is somewhere right now with no expression on his face... waiting.
  6. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) The exit you're referring to is Tower, it looks like it's the Skokie Lagoons, somewhere between a little south of Tower to about halfway between Tower and Dundee. says shes from Kansas City.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) Gonna see Quantum of Solace on Friday also. Really am looking forward to it (will miss Eva Green though). Rent the 2003 film "the dreamers." Watch. Thank me.
  8. How great would it be if "Pappyland" was foreclosed upon... its mean but I would laugh pretty hard.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) I don't understand how anyone couldn't see the movie would come down to being about Zack and Miri getting together (not sexual but relationship) I knew that was coming before I even saw it I'm confused, im not sure if you were asking me how i didn't know that they were going to get together (i did) or if you are asking the question generally. The argument I was trying to make is that... I knew they were going to get together, but the movie didn't get me to actually care if they did or didn't get together. I take the position that I didn't care because the story didn't develop the characters or their relationship enough to make me care at all about their chances of getting together.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) I disagree, I think she looked unreal. Its amazing those boobs are natural, and even in that loose dress I could see how phenomenal her ass is. Those boobs are natural? [citation required] Ari's Speech at the luncheon secured Jeremy Piven another Emmy win... unreal. Alas, it was the only good part of the episode... the thing with Seth Green was kinda lame, but it was only there to set up E and Sloane getting back together (presumably). The whole thing with Vince and the director could have been a good way to develop vince as an actor (learning to act rather than just being a star) but it looks like its going to be another Hollywood storyline, Ari fighting the director for vince. I guess thats ok because the show is more about being in hollywood than general character development, but it still leaves something to be desired.

QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Role Models was great and it was one of those times when I went in to it saying god I hope this movie makes me laugh because I really need one and it came through even with my bad mood.Bobbe Thompson the little black kid in the movie is soooo talented and funny he stole the show. Role Models was probably the funniest movie of the year thus far. Why? because the actors took a really clever story and made characters you actually gave two s***s about. It probably revives Sean William Scott's career. Paul Rudd showed that he could carry a movie in addition to his usual "im the quikry sidekick role" (in comedy's anyway). Bobbe Thompson was great, and actually the only actor that dissapointed somewhat was Christopher Mint-Plasse (McLovin) who didn't add much to the role. The actor who stole the show for me was Jane Lynch, who delivered such an off the wall reform drug addict performance that I was rolling in the aisle a couple of times. This film worked, because it didn't rely specifically on the circumstance to generate laughs. The premise has been done before many times, but "role models" developed the characters enough to where the jokes seemed to flow easily from the story, and didnt seem forced. At the end of the day, a well developed story with dick jokes trumps a story where extra dick jokes are needed to justify a s***ty story (see zack and miri). This is a must see in my opinion... 3.5/4
  12. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) For me, it's specific scenes in certain films. Anyone remember 'Awakenings' with DeNiro and Robin Williams? The scene where DeNiro finally 'awakes' and greets his mom. I'm the same way, but the movies that get to me are usually kind of odd... V for Vendetta for example had a scene that really moved me. When Natalie Portman walks out into the rain after being "tortured" it sent a chill down my spine, I didn't cry but the way it was filmed really had an effect on me. I know, odd.
  13. QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) No, he's not gone but thankfully that show is easily avoided. And avoid it I will. He's gone... a weekday morning show on CSN? who is going to sit down and watch that? I can't imagine they are paying him much. Then there is his "webio" show which I'm sure nobody listens to, and I'm guessing he has paid for out of his own pocket. Mike North is as gone as gone can be, thankfully.
  14. I got a chance to see Robin Lopez start for the suns last night... he looks like a legit big man, very active around the rim, pretty athletic. Derrick Rose will be an NBA all-star... that's the first time I've said that about a Bulls player (since MJ), and wasn't being overly optimistic.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) my gf went in with the same attitude of "I'm going to walk out if I don't like it, and I'm going to try my best to not like it" and she ended up liking the movie more than I did. I thought the ending sucked (didn't stay around the credits long enough apparently) and it was a sappy-love story. The movie had its moments for sure, but I think that it lacked character development. i really didnt care if Zack and Miri got together in the end. Justing Long (Mac) made a great appearance... Brandon Routh looked out of place, bad cameo
  16. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 11:26 AM) Armageddon makes me feel sad for what has become of Aerosmith. It very nearly brings me to tears. Armageddon makes me cry because its Michael Bay, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and the incomparable Steve Buscemi at their worst. Armageddon is exhibit B (Pearl Harbor is Exhibit A) on why a lot of film buff's hate Michael Bay. Armageddon was so re-god-damn-diculous that I expected Bruce Willis to be projected by the bomb into the air where he then grabbed onto the ship, rode it home, while screaming "yippie-kie-a-motherf***er"
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) From IGN. What a great review it got, I might have to rent this bad boy. This is one game you actually want to buy... there is a ton of replay value, you can spend hours just walking around, f***ing up ghouls.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) for someone who couldn't get into oblivion, is fallout 3 worth picking up? I hear that even if you aren't into the main story element that it's still a decent FPS. I would say no. Its BARELY a FPS, the best part of the game is the ability to explore a gigantic map, build a character, and finish subquests. The FPS system is not great, and most of the attacking you do is in a turn-based-system.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) I had about 60 hours into Oblivion (Bethesda's previous game that uses the same engine) and had barely touched the main quest. It was seriously addicting. The same sort of thing is happening to me with this game. Even if I only have 10 or 15 minutes to kill before I have to leave, I'll take the chance to play. I was humming "bongo, bongo, bongo, I dont wanna leave the congo, no, no, no, no.... whatever free time I have (not much) I've found myself scouring the wastelands looking for 10 mole rats to kill with my repellant stick, its sad really.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 12:54 PM) Fallout 3 is awesome. Worst decision I've ever made... I bought this while trying to go to law school. The game is the best thing I've ever laid my hands on!
  21. QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) Because you're a fiscally conservative (and at the moment slightly disenchanted) Republican who believes the government should not be involved in legislating "morality." But, um, that's just a guess. That sums it up for me too... well put.
  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 11:31 AM) All depends on the $$$ of course. The top 2 lines are working pretty well ATM, although you could easily move Brouwer down to the 3rd line and Byfueglien back to a D-Man. Byfuglien is not a NHL D-man.... he's barely making it as poor-skating, third-line power forward. I think Brouwer has a lot more upside than Bubba does.
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 11:09 AM) Troops out of Iraq and into Afghanistan. And he's going to ask America's Allies (Australia definitely) for a troop increase in Afghanistan also. We do need to reinforce our presence in Afghanistan, and it will come from troops deployed in Iraq, but I don't see this happening within the first 100 days of Obama taking office. I think when President Obama takes office, he'll get the briefings of what's actually transpiring on the ground and make a decision based off of that. While things looks promising at the moment, I would say that the peace that exists in Iraq is due to our ability to keep the warring parties separate -- because our troop levels there are so high. we'll see though, it would be nice to see the international community step up and realize what a stable Iraq means to the world/region.
