  1. who else is in the Renteria race? If Angels go for Cabrera (cheaper saves more $$ for Beltran) and Cubs resigning Nomar.... that leaves Red Sox and St. Louis, anyone else think of teams who he has been linked with?
  2. On the Rumors Thread page 28, somebody posted that Levine was on with Mariotti today and said this
  3. Maybe not, it was mentioned in the rumor thread that Levine is talkig about the Sox being close to signing Wright and involved in a 3-way trade scenario with D'Backs and NY involving Vazquez coming to the Sox...
  4. I wouldn't be suprised if it opened more payroll, since I bet the Yankees will be eating some of Vazquez's contract
  5. A rotation of MB, Garcia, Vazquez, Wright, and Contreras (SP?) would be OK with me!!! (This is assuming that Garland would probably be traded in a three way)
  6. For what it's worth Gammons new column says that the Wright signing will probably get done quickly and has the White Sox listed as the team with Seattle as a maybe.
  7. Like someone else posted, it helps hide a huge bulk -up.... also any steroid helps muscle recovery, thus better workouts
  8. Right, it's easy to see the guys who are using THG or steroids like Decca that blow you up, but then there's steroids like Winstrall that won't give you huge popeye muscles, but will make you leaner. There's probably a ton of guys who did this type of steroid, and those guys look slimmer sometimes
  9. Boers and Bernstein just read a Newsday article saying at the Mets organizational meeting yesterday they basically realized they don't want the possibility of a Bonds/Giambi like fallout around their team if they got Sosa. They're having major doubts about pursuing a trade.
  10. I think with all the Giambi s*** the Yankees are going to have to make a huge positive splash, they've cooled off on RJ (for now, I still feel he will end up there though), so I think they're going to push hard for Beltran
  11. Howard's producers are also great at picking good guests for Howard to play off of, and Anna was perfect for this. He obviously thought she was hot, but Howard spent like a half hour with her and most of it was making fun of how important she thought she was. If it's on the E! show I suggest watching it, it's funny.
  12. It could be that KW said he would be on, but then had to back out due to some other commitment or meeting (Maybe with an agent or another GM!)
  13. yeah, during lunch I listened and they said nothing about KW, just that Morten Anderson is going to be on
  14. I'm 99% sure it's not available on the internet.... this should be interesting because B and B won't soft-shoe him I've been waiting to hear what KW has to say!
  15. I know the D Backs got raked over the coals localy for trading Schilling for basically nothing and trading a ton for Sexson. I think they may be willing to tell RJ if we don't get what we want for you we'll just have you pitch here next year and honor your contract.
  16. I think all of the teams offers to Beltran will be low ball because they want to force Boras to come back with a number. Teams don't want to outbid themselves like the Rangers did with A-Rod. It seems the Angels are gearing up to make a run, so I think their offer will probably be a fair gauge of his market
  17. This could revolve around the Giambi thing too, The Yanks may realize that they have to dump Giambi to another team, even if that means eating a ton of his contract, and now they'll have to heavily pursue Beltran to replace the bat. Also, RJ's position may change on the White Sox if his only other option is staying in Arizona. (White Sox optimisim talking here)
  18. did the Tribune actually mention this too? If so that is insanity! This is how it earns the name the "Cubune" This just tells me the Cubs are hitting walls in their off-season moves, ie Nomar is not crawling back to them for nothing, closers aren't signing here for less to play with Dusty, Beltran isn't rolling out the red carpet for them.... and of course they can't move Sosa Now this s***..... unreal, it makes me sick. I know columnists have free reign, but this has zero chance of happening unless KW smokes a ton of pot
  19. Damn, I miss ECW. I have the fan cam show from the first ECW show at the Odeum when a guy threw a chair at Bubba... it is classic. Being at the Anarchy Rulz show before Taz left for WWE was incredible as well... They also tore up the Aragon Ballroom, I think it was Sandmans first appearance in Chicago... I went to every damn ECW show in Chicago... I could go on all night!!
  20. Yup, JimH is a good poster, and I think it was a good post. He didn't post something like, "hey did anyone else hear anything about the Sox trading Jon Adkins for Barry Bonds straight up?" He posted a legitimate question and trade rumor. There is some real good conversation about it.... Keep it up!!
  21. Sorry if this was posted already, but ESPN 1000 had nothing about Wright in their update, and 670 the Score said something along the lines of "despite reports the Sox aren't close to signing Wright, but the sides have talked." Take it for what it's worth!
  22. don't mean to be a prick, but can someone who is not stuck at work summarize the source of the Wright discussion... I know it's Gammons, but was it in print or on TV?
  23. If that's true, and the Sox really are pushing the payroll to 75m that would still give them about 7m to spend if they don't move Konerko or Lee... I guess with the price of pitching going up this is a good move in my opinion if the numbers are really 5-6m
