QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Ahh yeah, that's right. One of the dudes was just on ESPNEWS, and he basically made it sound like Wade is not even thinking about leaving, and he's doing the extra meetings to be nice. all these Heat guys who are saying he isn't leaving better start connecting some dots on other players going there, because he isn't going to stay if they don't get another quality player. JJ looks like he's staying in ATL and Amare likely to NYK, I could easily see Bosh telling Wade he's not going with him to Miami for less money if the Raptors and Bulls can work out a sign and trade and he can get max money with the Bulls, then Wade is stuck on a depleted roster.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) they share the same agent, so there could be a possibility both of them meet with the bulls together. looks like it gonna be Bosh and Wade in Chicago and Lebron staying in Cleveland. that's getting way ahead of ourselves IMO... I think what happened was Wade realized today that Miami may not get anyone else to go there, he met with the Bulls, it went well just reinforcing that the Bulls roster is already good and he would have a good supporting cast with zero extra moves being made, the Bulls asked for a second meeting and he agreed. I can't see anything bad coming from the second meeting, say tomorrow Lebron tells JR that he's staying with Cle and Bosh tells Wade he doesn't think Miami with just him and Wade can build a great roster... then maybe you get Bosh and Wade early next week.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) ChiTribuneLive We know that Bulls had a 5pm meeting with Wade, that Bosh arrived approx 630 with Wade still there, Bosh left approx 715 to likely have a meeting with at the United Center with Bulls well that's interesting, sounds like maybe Bosh was trying to stir it up and see if he could get something with Wade locked down
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) I thought Wade wanted Lebron and Bosh. Why would missing out on Amare cause him to flee? Heat meeting with David Lee tonight. Even before today many reports had that as not happening and Wojo from Yahoo said today on B & B that LBJ is unlikely to go to Miami at this point... Again, I think Wade realized there is no guarantee a good scenario is going to play out in Miami and he is exploring his options.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:21 PM) Why the hell would an agent randomly text a reporter that. Sounds f***ing ridiculous and would irritate me if true. That is what you are doing while in the midst of a meeting with the Bulls. Makes me think we are getting played. how much can the Bulls really be getting played? It can't be about money, everyone knows what they're going to make depending on where they sign, and it's not like it's helping Wade improve his situation if he intends to stay in Miami by talking to other teams. I think Wade was floored that Amare didn't sign with the heat and suddenly realized he could be in a situation where he is on a bad Heat team with zero supporting cast and is exploring his options... it's not like it's costing the Bulls anything with other players to meet with Wade a second time, get him in there let him hear your pitch again and see what happens, Wade was here, it didn't really cost him anything other than an hour.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:12 PM) On SunSports tomorrow, they're playing 12 hours of D. Wade's greatest Heat highlights. LET'S MAKE IT A TOUGH 12 HOURS FOR ALL 5 HEAT FANS a lot of empty yellow seats will have a tear in their eye!! If this goes down Riley and the Heat did something major to piss off Wade

QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) Given the nature of the story I hope he would check his own sources. Goff has been pretty on top of things. agree with you 100% Goff has been so good at developing his role on the Score and he wouldn't piggy back off someone's report with out giving them credit and saying something like "for what it is worth"
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Depending on where they all go, if the Bulls don't land anyone, they won't be contenders for a while. if they would have kept the status quo they really wouldn't have been contenders anyway, sure 6-8 seed getting bounced every year, maybe a fluke upset of a 2 or a 3 but that was the ceiling
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) What will the Bulls have lost? Hinrich's bad contract and maybe Deng's bad contract as well? Not much to lose. I agree 100%, the team as is wasn't going anywhere, so burn it all down and if it fails, being 10-72 might put you in a better position, certainly won't be worse.
-
QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) if this whole thing blows up in our face idk if i could take it well it was either blow it all up and go balls to the wall and if you whiff the team sucks or be stuck in NBA mediocrity hell and not try and go for it, at least they are going for it

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:05 PM) I meant "not in the picture" for other big free agents. Wade might still return, but doesnt it seem like no one else is going there? If Amare was the guy, that pretty much means they didnt think Bosh was ever coming... ah ok, yeah I think you're right, basically Riley and the Heat may have been to cocky and once Wade saw that they couldn't get Amare to come he realized he may be stuck there with nobody
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) No one knows for sure, but it seems like something happened that makes Miami not in the picture and maybe Wade is worried if he doesnt leave Miami, he goes back with no other superstar and will be stuck there for 5-6 years in a s***ty sports town on a s***ty sports team. That would have to change his perspective. It probably also helps that he has been in Chicago this week and maybe has realized how much easier his life will be if he lives here. I mean just Wade to the Bulls is a hell of a lot better for him than going back to Miami alone. I don't know about out of the picture for Wade, but he certainly isn't happy with the Heat as of right now. Wojo from yahoo did say on B & B that it looks like LBJ won't be going to Miami, he really didn't expand on that, but did say it

Bulls trying to trade Deng to Utah for Okur now

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5348670 Damn things are changing quick. there's a ton of conflicting reports on this meeting, I've heard the bulls made the initial contact for the 2nd meeting, this says Wade did and heard he's doing it out of courtesy and heard he's enthusiastic about it... If he doesn't leave the Berto center signed he will likely go back to Miami, but wow what an intriguing option to have tonight
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) Reports say Amar'e is trying to talk to a FA player to join him in New York. Don't know who though, but it isn't the big 3 supposedly. that's the Knick's best option at this point, not a great one, but they need to see if they can scrounge something out of this, because it looks like they are out of contention for any of the other impact guys

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Just saw this at realgm. Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_a.../#ixzz0sZHLMAoU not a shock, the reports of their two "options" were really a complete joke, this is why I think they moved so strongly on Amare, they are going to get screwed, but at least they can have a press conference with a guy... may sound silly, but that's really the point it got to for them
-
now there's conflicting reports about the Wade meeting, it is confirmed, but Casey Johnson said the contact was received by Wade enthusiastically and B & B just reported a conflicting report, sorry didn't catch the name, but a veteran NBA guy said Wade's is doing is at courtesy, it fits wouldn't fit his personality to turn a request like that down.

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) I'm in the same boat as you stuck in a wedding down state this weekend. However, looks like a solid card and it should be a lot of fun to watch on Sunday. yeah, luckily for me it should be an awesome wedding, it's a luau theme so flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) Blake? What did I miss? just announced, 4/16

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) No, Rose can develop into a true PG, similar to Rondo. (except actually make a jump shot when counted on) I'm sure Rose would have no problem going 15/15 a night. yeah, I was kind of quick on typing that, I don't think they SHOULD trade Rose, but if for some reason they really don't think it can work they're not stuck
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) lol. I know what positions they would play. But how the hell would they be able to share the rock? Lebron/Wade are two of the most ball-dominant players in the league. And last I checked Rose handled the rock quite a bit. Again, they could trade Rose at that point
-
Wade could easily get over the what he's going through with the Heat now, but I really think with Amare "down the road" with the Knicks is he realized all the talk about what teams can or will do down the line means nothing and the Bulls right now have the most attractive roster
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Will somebody explain to me how on earth Wade/Lebron/Rose would work together? you make it work, I am usually not that type of person when it comes to looking at sports, but you make it work, or you trade Rose for another piece
-
Wade, Bosh and their agent are all in Chicago, Wade and Bosh for a nike camp I believe and Wade's agent is based here, I could easily see them trying to secure themselves with the Bulls tonight and forcing the Bulls hand
