  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Think she said first sweep at home since 83? I thought Hawk said first four game sweep against Angels since 83, when they did it x2
  2. Awesome win and performance by Danks!!! so 7-3, including 6-1 against a hot Texas team and a 2nd place Angels team since all the pundits said the White Sox would fade starting back the AL schedule, up all of their asses. Huge thing for Danks to go 9 today, pen is fully rested for the weekend series. Get even a slightly better than average bat and Hudson is OK, this team will be tough to beat, Cliff Lee or no Cliff Lee in Minny.
  3. well at the beginning of the process I would have never thought Miami, but trying to look at it from a neutral position, he's taking less money for what gives him the best chance to win.
  4. FWIW, Alan Houston via Twitter is shooting down rumors the press conference is at his house tomorrow in CT, he said he had to tell his communities security in case people tried to camp out.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) Cap will be at $58 million. Looks like we have two more million to play with than expected. well, so does the Heat, NYK and everyone else, in the end it will probably drive up the other salaries about the same so guys will make a little more, but I don't see it drastically changing the landscape
  6. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:56 PM) just a thought, if lebron comes to the bulls to join the current roster, wins 6 rings and plays for the same amount of games as Jordan did, while average stats to his career average, who would you say as the greatest of all time? everything being equal in separate eras, I would go with Jordan the defensive rules have been reduced since when Jordan played, go back and look at the D played in the bulls 6 titles, especially the first 3, it is a lot more physical.
  7. Cavs insider via twitter is saying it sounds like all teams in the running are in the dark and LBJ likely won't let the losers know
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) He gained legitimacy with me for landing the Boozer news. I also think this whole thing has been a lot more fluid than anyone expected... if you believe Chad Ford the Bulls could have had Bosh/Wade but decided to wait on LBJ instead, and I honestly think Wade was heavily leaning towards Miami on July 1, but things change.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) The Bulls tried but there's no way he ever was coming to Chicago. Michael Jordan is Chicago. He's staying in Cleveland for two more years, then he'll do this again. He wouldn't do a big TV thing if it wasn't Cleveland. It's too much a snub to his home state to do that to Cleveland. I say 3 years, but yes, that is an extremely realistic scenario
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Our boy Bucher saying Cleveland or Chicago again. This is ridiculous. Shares of MSG went up 6% today. Bucher has been all over the place! I would imagine the 6% is based only on speculation, the government would and has nailed people if there's insider stuff going on.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) Let's face it, winning titles in NY is the #1 legacy builder for any sports professional. Let's just hope he sees it as much more realistic to win them in Chitown. yeah, but it's not like it's the only way, MJ did a good job in Chi, as did Kobe and Magic in LA, same as Bird and crew in Bos... also in the NFL the Steelers and Cowboys are more legendary than the Giants.... but I do agree with your general point in that ESPN would knob him from now until the cows come home if he's in NY
  12. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) really, he hasn't accomplish much, much of their success is due to Dwill, they played just as well when he was hurt and Milsap subbed in. He got flamed I think in the 09 postseason for being too soft and not hustling and attacking the basket during a playoff game. he's a 2 time all star there and his overall postseason numbers are 20/12, in the west that is good. Also he's a power forward, he needs a good PG to make the most out of him offensively, not comparing Deron Williams and D Rose, but Rose is a good PG
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) The Knicks are claiming they have no idea what LeBron is doing, and that his camp is telling them nothing, according to Rachel Nichols. George Smith is claiming Boozer will attempt to recruit LeBron. Goff retweeted a NY reporter saying only that the Knicks believe they are in the top 3, but doesn't say who other 2 are
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) I was just thinking that the best thing really for LBJ's legacy would be to be the guy who eventually gets the knicks a couple rings. I agree, that's why I could see him with the Knicks, they would still have a lot of work to do IMO
  15. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) boozer wasn't the reason why USA won the medal. he was only a small part of it. Boozer just appears to me as a guy who doesn't work hard on defense, doesn't come through when it matters, and sometimes loses interest to the game. Let's say if Boozer calls up Lebron and say, hey Bron come join me in Chicago, I am committed to winning just as you are, I will help you get that ring! Lebron would be like bulls***, you are about the money more than anything. I hope it's not the case, but it could be in Lebron's mind. Boozer has accomplished a lot in the Western Conference which has been much tougher than the East on a night in and night out basis.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) Amare and Lebron is good enough to make the playoffs. Add in the fact that they have a couple other pieces and would probably have some left-over money to add in another guy or two and well, you never know. A year from now they'll be much better too. They are in as good of shape as the Heat, if not better, imo. Plsu they technically still have a huge asset in David Lee. They could sign and trade him somewhere else using his bird rights, or at least I believe they could. Strongly disagree with you on this, if not just because having LBJ, Wade and Bosh will make it easier to get a few ring hunter vets to come in for a little cheaper. I could see someone giving Lee a full boat, but no S & T at this point, it would be an all time historically bad contract
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) So, Freddy will pitch on 3 days rest on Sunday? I think Marquez has options, just swap him and Hudson
  18. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) they could be good friends off the court, but I think Boozer lost some of his credibility to Lebron when it comes to basketball. If I am Lebron, I can't fully trust Boozer's commitment to the team again. well he's on the Bulls for 5 years and they played on the redeem team on the same court 2 years ago
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) No team with LeBron on it is irrelevant, especially if they also have Amare. irrelevant is a strong word I used, but I couldn't see them contending for a championship, even with those two, not even mentioning health questions with Amar'e
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) they also had been teammates on the Cavs in 2003, then Boozer left Lebron hanging by bolting for the Jazz. Would Lebron really take Boozer serious on free agency matters again? I've seen reports that they actually stayed good friends despite that incident.
  21. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) Well I just read every single page I missed today and the mood swing in this thread was incredible. So low this morning, to extremely high right after Boozer, and its slowly falling now. f*** it I predit Lebron James signs with the Bulls tomorrow. I'll call my shot, I'm going with the Knicks, it makes LBJ irrelevant for the foreseeable future, but the lure of NY with LBJ's ego is too much for him.
  22. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:15 PM) I find it amusing that Broussard says the Bulls aren't out of it but certainly not the favorite for LeBron.. yet the f***in Knicks are?? The Knicks have noone and they will suck for years to come even with LeBron. his ego might be too big to believe that, even if it's the truth
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:12 PM) if the bulls didnt go to Lebron and say that him winning 7 championships would make people in Chicago say, Jordan who, then they are far worse than I could have possibly imagined. I mean thats just common sense. You tell the new guy he is the best thing ever, even if you dont believe it. the Lakers and Celtics have been multi-generational elite franchises, Kobe is accepted in LAL and the big three in Bos were accepted in Bos
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) Broussard just said on ESPN he thinks the Bulls are still alive. and KC Johnson confirms that, so JA's report sounds weird and stale
  25. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Once again I'm just passing along information, damn people not taking it out on you, just responding to what seems to me a weird report... like I said, it's not like the details of many of those meetings were airtight, I just think it would have come out and ultimately the Bulls have a very attractive roster
