  1. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who did he start for? Ortiz.
  2. Some of you guys are complete f***ing morons. The Sox were the best team BAR NONE in 2005. They have always been a competitive team since 1990, and the team has never finished below .500 with KW as GM. Ortiz signed as a free agent in 2005, so the Sox would not have had him during that season because Kenny was after him in 2002 and 2004. There is little evidence, if any, that the Sox were close to acquiring Jason Kendall like they were to Erstad. I also find it hypocritical to bring up his name when people were clamoring for him in 2004 and before 2005 and when Beane's rear was kissed because he "only" gave up Redman and Rhodes. Give it a rest. Even as loyal as JR is to his employees, he's not going to dump a GM who is showing the most frustration of any coaches or front office and knows when to make a move. I also doubt ANY team would dump their GM if the team was .500 a week before the minor league draft. Compare the current reactions to the team's play so far: Baines: Nothing. Walker: "You know we'll hit sooner or later. Just look at the back of these guys' baseball cards." Guillen: "Maybe they should fire me." KW: "Yes I am frustrated right now. We are underachieving." (told that to Ken Rosenthal. But hey, let's just keep ripping the guy and try to take away his accomplishments because we're all better armchair GM's. Somehow KW looks more foolish for showing interest in Kendall when we had people here hammering out their own trades to get the guy.
  3. So are we 0-47 or 0-50 against relievers right now? I know we didn't get a hit after the third inning today.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the 0-50 should have Walker finding his own way home from Toronto. I am interested to see Owens swing in one week. He has a slap leadoff style swing, which he needs to use, if he's lifting and pulling in one week he should sue Walker for attempting to ruin his career The Score reports Walker isn't in Toronto with the team. He's back in Chicago, maybe out of a job??? Nah, just his kid's graduation
  5. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After the initial altercation, Zambrano was shown walking tothe clubhouse and Barrett remained in the dugout. If they went at it again in the locker room, Barrett went down there to either start something again or apologize and settle him down. Who knows. Yeah, let's continue to truck Vazquez out there every 5th day. I feel comfortable with that. Say, how did Javy do tonight? Better than Zambrano I take it?
  6. Cleveland looking to make a huge comeback off of Todd Jones. 11-10 in the bottom of the 9th.
  7. Trade AJ for Cain, Lincecum, and Brad Hennessey
  8. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hell of it is only 1 win! ...and must be tearing you up inside.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> $50 says Barrett went down to talk more s***. Well from the flubs' board: Also funny from the board: Barrett, with his eyes closed, sucker punches AJ for the wrong reason and he's a badass tough guy, now one year later he gets a bloody lip and should file a lawsuit. LMAO!!! Dumbest sheep in baseball.
  10. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> better or worse that Soriano? I think he's getting $1 million less per year, but at least Vernon Wells plays good defense. I'd take him over Soriano, but I think they are both overpaid and overrated.
  11. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Vernon Wells' contract is going to turn out badly.
  12. Drop Willy Taveras for Owens? I need me some steals!
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is DJ stoned?Isn't weed legal in Canada as long as you aren't pushing it?
  14. Stick with a degree that will get you $$$. You can always open up your own blog if you want to write so much.
  15. "Mister body massage machine GO!!!!"
  16. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who is our back up first baseman? Thome?? Toby Hall Seriously, anybody can be our back up first baseman.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW should be on the phone right now. We could then swing someone for a bat. Zambrano sucks this year and has never been good in AL parks. I'll pass.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Their fans are running onto the field. LOL Really? This just give the Tribune more excuses and ammo to bring up the Ligues and Dybas again.
  19. Paul Sullivan did a hack job piece on how the Sox might be tired of AJ's act and quoted Buehrle's tounge in cheek comments as serious material. I'm betting he's going to dance around this story and make at least one reference to Buehrle hating AJ. Zambrano is a total tool, but I think Barrett is more a distraction in the clubhouse. Oh yeah, Zambrano is nowhere near Johan Santana's league, and he's not a "proven ace."
  20. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW has had the highest payroll in the AL central every year since 2001 and has won one division. He needs to go, its his time. Clean out the organization, its clear we are not headed in a great direction. Our minor leagues are horrible and our major league team is old and slow, worst possible combo. Promote Rick Hahn who is a more numbers guy and not a feel guy and lets see where he takes us. And Ozzie just needs to go, plain and simple. Bulls***. BTW, "your" =/= "you are. Why are Kenny and Ozzie the only options here? KW puts the pieces in place, and it's Ozzie's and the coaches' jobs to motivate an ensure the players play to the best of their abilities. Is it KW's fault Konerko, Crede, Iguchi, and Dye aren't hitting? No. How could have KW improve this situation before the season started? He should've traded Crede at his peak value along with his slimy agent and back concerns. I'm holding that against him. You could argue Iguchi and Dye as well, but they are cheap, soon to be free agents who can net us draft picks. Crede can't do that after this season. Is it KW's fault Erstad is a below average hitter? No, but he should not have signed him. Ozzie would have never had the chance to overplay him (Guillen's fault) and let him make a ton of outs if KW never signed the guy. I'm holding them both accountable. Molina being an automatic out for a month and a half? That's Guillen's fault. Bullpen? Mostly KW getting too young and cheap, but Ozzie certainly has not been managing them to the best of his abilities. There is no cut and dry answer (well, maybe Walker if they want to send a message) at this point in the season.
  21. The Sox have a zero percent chance of signing any Boras client to an extension. Hell, no team except for maybe the Red Sox or Yankees can afford one of his guys because he wants them to test the market. So let's push out our much more productive DH, along with some minor league talent to get a guy whose agent won't let him sign for longer making it a lock he'll walk after less than two seasons. Oh yeah, he's going to cost a TON of money and he is a product of a hitter's ballpark. OKAY? It makes zero sense. Garcia was close to Guillen before coming to the Sox. Boras is on the other side of the universe when it comes to his relationship with the Sox.
  22. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is plate appearances? dammit. To Erstad there really is no difference between an at-bat and plate appearance. His walk rate has always been below average.
