  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Alright, who here did that ManDog?!? Brilliant! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did, but then found out someone else made that before me. (their quality isn't as good though.)
  2. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) So what your saying is that only 2 out of 31 teams had interest in Maggs at the start of the 2004 season, actually before the start of Spring Training? Looking at the 2004 squad what was needed more another Bat or try and trade for an actual starting pitcher? Also, let compare numbers..two and half years VS 5 years..Hmm which would I rather have? Your Right 5 years is better. Also who is better built for the long haul.. Meaning after this year I say Cleveland has a 4-5 year run ahead of them, if we are lucky we have this year and maybe next year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes that is exactly what I'm saying, after all I clearly wrote that only 2 teams were interested in Maggs, and that I would rather have 5 years of rebuilding instead of 2 and 1/2. That's why I wrote it. :rolly
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) By the way...good to see Crede's back isn't bothering him that much. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's because AJ has been stepping on it.
  4. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Rarely are things this cut and dried, but here's where we stand today. If they make the playoffs -- don't have to win the division -- he deserves a contract extension. If, on the other hand, he is the GM of a team that owns the biggest regular season collapse, he should be fired. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Based on some of your previous posts, I can tell you have some kind of connection to Reinsdorf. What exactly is KW's contract status? If the Sox win the division, how long do you extend him for? What if the Sox blow the division, but win the wild card?
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Why the f*** did williams not get this guy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anthrax ain't got nuthin' on Wealz when it comes to what KW "should've done." Wealz's offseason plans included: Trading Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko, and Jose Contreras to free up the money to sign Adrian Beltre. Make Dustin Hermanson the 5th starter. Possibly using Vizcaino as the closer.
  6. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Four years after inhereting a 2000 division winner he has zero division titles That includes a 2003 team that collapsed down the stretch. If they somehow blow this lead there will be no excuses left for Williams. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That 2000 team was broken down before the end of the 2000 season. The rotation was in shambles and one really has to wonder how much guys like Baldwin, Sirotka, and Parque all overachieved that season. 2003? Don't get me started. KW provided all of the pieces yet Jerry just couldn't motivate them. It also didn't help that Minnesota won 11 games in a row in September finishing 4 games better than the Sox. How can ou possibly say that this .500 ball the past few weeks is Williams' fault?
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Actually if my memory is working well, KW tried to deal Ordonez to the Bravos, but it didn't work out because KW wanted to get a pitcher (Russ Ortiz) back along with Jones, and the Braves weren't willing to part with both a pitcher and Jones in exchange for 1 bat. In the Boston deal...I believe we'd have wound up with Nomar. Thank God Boston screwed that up. (Nomar also btw had 1 year left on his contract at the time...the exact same duration as Ordonez had left...so it really wouldn't have helped us in terms of finding people that we can hold onto unless we got a quality prospect to go along with Nomar) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but the discussion also involved throwing in Jon Rauch along with another prospect to get BOTH Ortiz and Jones. The Braves were looking to get out of Jones' big contract, and the Sox were having a hard time resigning Maggs at the time. The Nomar deal also involved Scott Williamson, and there was talk of spinning Nomar to LA for a package involving players such as Mota, Perez, Greg Miller (was a top pitching prospect,) or Edwin Jackson. Hell I remember talk of sending Magglio to LA after the Boston-Texas trade broke down.
  8. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) I never said that, What I am saying is that their GM was able to rebuild in 2 years to contend for a divsion title. I wish we could do what Cleveland did, but alast look who we have running the player personal...We should have traded Maggs b4 last season, along with about 16000000000000000000 other moves, to make this team better for the long haul not just a chance for one year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The rehaul started in the middle of 2002, so that's two and a half years of rebuilding. Didn't KW try to trade Magglio to Boston as part of the A-Rod only to have Boston (I would love to see you try and spin that one on KW) f*** up? Didn't KW try to trade Magglio to the Braves for Andruw Jones, but it didn't go down because Maggs never recovered and the Braves went back into contention? Oh great, now I just gave you ammo how KW f***ed up a potential Jones-Ordonez deal.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) We lost Bartolo Colon for nada. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually we got two draft picks for him.
  10. How long until POPPY_HIDALGO shows up to join the party?
  11. LMFAO!!!! It took a historic run by the Cleveland Indians to bring Anthrax and Wealz out from their rocks. I take it you guys haven't been enjoying the season as much as the rest of us because you can't go about your daily lives which pretty much revolves around bashing KW.
  12. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) I'm not all that confident when any of our late inning guys come in nowadays. Bobby can be great and also bad. I feel about Viz the way some of you do marte. Viz really sucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK, I still haven't seen you make a positive post.
  13. Ozzie has been managing "by the book" too much lately. Hawk used to always kiss his ass by talking about the reason why Ozzie gets so much flack from guys like Brantley is because he doesn't do what most managers are expected to do. These lefty-righty matchups are getting extremely out of hand. Look at what RH do against Cotts, or LH do against Jenks. What ever happened to Cliff and Neal each pitching one inning no matter if an opposite handed batter was up?
  14. The Cleveland announcers have no right to talk about our attendance.
  15. Phil Margera is due to blow a save, he'll make it close.
  16. .....and that's what the dreaded walks can do to you. Thanks Marte. :rolly
  17. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Bobby is going to hit 105mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funniest post in the thread yet.
  18. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Agreed, this game still could go extra innings, we all remember the Shingo game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...but we have Adkins, Saunders, Bajenaru, McCarthy, Hermanson, and Jenks.
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Not even funny to joke about. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Timo is 8/21 against Millwood and has .933 OPS against him. Ozzie will play him tomorrow.
