  1. QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Yeah, I thought Paxon was on the second set of championship teams. That was early on in my sports life! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The short White guy in that series was Steve Kerr.
  2. QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) oh wow, I thought Paxon played at ND in the early 90s, not the early 80s. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't remember the 3-pointer against the Suns? :headshake The Bulls Radio call of that gives me chills every time I hear it.
  3. That's news to me. There's going to be a game 4 in this NLDS?
  4. He called us the worst fans in baseball back in 2003 because we booed Jerry Manuel at the All-Star Game. What about back in 1999 when the Red Sox faithful booed Roger Clemens? I don't even think redandwhite will be able to spin that one. The Astros fans did the same thing when they booed Jimy Williams back in 2004. Berman also made a comment during Tuesday's game about how USCF will never be a ballpark near the top, but then follow it up with "but they have made improvements."
  5. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) I commonly read Hardball Times and Baseball Prospectus for insight--and frequently a good laugh. I wonder how their win-probabilty scale would have predicted Boston's 0-3 comeback last year? Or Florida's improbable rally off Mark Prior in 2003 NLCS? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recall seeing a Red Sox poster on another site post the BP "calculated" odds of the Red Sox winning the ALCS being down 3-0 at 8% and winning the WS 1.95%. I'll try and find it.
  6. at this analysis. Lefty of Love nailed it on the head. Baseball is not a sequence of random events.
  7. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) I'm getting confused over the start time again. I see both 3pm and 4pm quoted as the start time. I think its 11 am in Chicago now, so is it 4 or 5 hours to start of play? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 3:09 Chicago time 4:09 Boston Time
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) Hav a good one Keith!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Matt Clement has only pitched once against us in 2005. He pitched 6 innings, gave up 4 runs, 3 to the long ball, with 2 BB's and 5 K's, for an ERA of 6. He's had a 5.72 ERA since the All Star Break. His K/BB ratio has dropped significantly from pre ASB 97/35 to 49/33. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He was also fortunate enough to have mother nature wash away another s***ty outing against the Sox.
  10. I don't think so. The Red Sox are the defending champs.
  11. Their starting pitching f***ing sucks.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I think R&W started the fight picking. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know, but I had a debate on whether or not I should've put my comments in green. Redandwhite, it all started with you calling yet another post you didin't agree with "stupid."
  13. How did I know this thread would lead other posters into picking a fight with redandwhite? :rolly
  14. I don't smoke, and after going to San Diego I have to say I like the idea of banning indoor smoking because I didn't smell like s*** the next day.
  15. YES!!!!!! Can somebody make my avatar into an AIM buddy Icon?
  16. Everett has more triples than Pods this year.
  17. I hearing Sox fans in othe team's parks.
  18. I can't complain if we win a pennant. I will be disapointed if we lost in the series, but it's still a great accomplishment. Still trying to come up with an excuse to fire KW after this season Anthrax? :rolly
  19. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) actually no...i would love the rules explanation. We win our magic number is still 1, help <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the Sox win tomorrow and Cleveland wins out, both teams finish the season with the same record. Because both Boston and New York can NOT finish with records better than Cleveland or the Sox in this situation, a one game playoff would not be necessary. The Sox would be considered the AL Central champs, and the Indians would be considered the Wild Card winners due to the Sox having the better head to head season record. It happened with the Cards and Astros a few years ago.
  20. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Jose >>>> God <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sox4lifeinPA is not going to like that post.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Baez is in for Tampa. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...and gives up a hit. I never understood the fascination with this guy.
  22. LOL. The one time Cliff Lee actually pitches well, he doesn't get much run support. Maybe he should go back to walking 5 guys and giving up 6 runs so the Indians can give him 10 runs of support.
