  1. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Are you really gonna be ok with it if the next three pitchers go seven innings, give up six runs and all get losses? I mean, they save the pen. Mission number one, win the game. Mission number two, keep the team in good shape for upcoming games. If we keep failing mission number one, mission number two will become obsolete. I thought that was obvious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So I take you're willing to flame out your bullpen in the first game of the series because that win is just SO important? Seriously, If you starting pitcher is in some trouble in the third inning, are you going to go to the bullpen just so you can have a better chance to win the game? I didn't think so either. The White Sox have a better chance of winning in Texas if they have a fresh bullpen. We have a 4 game series in 3 days at one of the worst parks for pitchers to pitch. We are also throwing a rookie who has not gone 6 innings on the mound for one of these games as well.
  2. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) All that does is save the pen. He did that tonight, didnt he? And did it help us in anyway except our pen isnt worn down? No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uhhh, we have 3 games to play in 2 days. We need our pen. Sheesh, I thought that was obvious.
  3. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Any sane man would. Buehrle is well above average, but Santana is excellent. And consistent, something MB is not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah those 49 consecutive starts with 6+ innings sure don't mean s***.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Is there a way to translate them. As funny as the pictures are alone, I bet the words would be hysterical. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My south korean buddy translated the other ones for me. I'll ask when I get a chance.

    Rapper Shot

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) I was at lunch with my boss and another guy, and they asked me what the difference between rap and R&B is. I had no clue. Can someone give me a little explanation? And give me a few examples of people in each group? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> R&B is more sissy stuff like love ballads.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) but I think if most were asked around here would you'd prefer Timo or Brian on the post - season roster, they'd say Brian. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That means nothing, and most of the voters would go against Timo just because they hate Timo so much. Timo has postseason experience. That favors him. Timo can bunt. Timo is left handed. That's about it, but really, how often in the playoffs does it come down to the 25th man? It's not like we're choosing who will bat 3rd in the lineup.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Well considering the other pitchers Anderson has faced, that's a pretty harsh statement <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well it seemed like to the Dam8610 that because of Brian one successful game, he deserved a place on the playoff roster.
  8. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Brian Anderson does great, owns a phenom pitcher, and gets demoted, while Jon Adkins does horribly, has an ERA a little bit above 13, and stays on the active roster. Can someone please explain the logic and/or thought behind this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How much do you want to bet that Felix Hernandez won't be in the playoffs? That makes Anderson useless, just like Adkins.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) So you have Adkins up for the next 4 games because you might need him. Meanwhile he becomes eligeble for the playoff roster (where he is not needed) and a player like Anderson becomes ineligeble. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. What's the problem with that? Worry about the games we have in front of us, not the potential ones a month away. What good is Brian Anderson in the playoffs anyways?
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) But would you rather have Adkins or Anderson on your playoff roster? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...and when you have to play 4 games in 3 days with a rookie going against a team that rocked him do you want Brian Anderson or Jon Adkins in your bullpen? :rolly
  11. Estebomb has a road era of 4.57 this year and in the national league mind you.

  13. Atlanta is playing the Braves on TBS right now.
  14. I could see us dealing Politte in the offseason. Will his value ever be higher than it is right now?
  15. Thanks. I started off early tonight, but I don't have any classes tomorrow, so I have a long time to tap the keg and drink the case of Jaeger. :uhoh
  16. I'd rather have him start game 3. It'd be on the road. If the Sox were to sweep El Duque "Big Game pitcher" would start game 1 of the ALCS. If the Sox played a game 4 in the ALDS it would be on the road where El Duque tends to pitch better. Buehrle Garland Garcia El Duque
  17. Yes he did!!!! My favorite Damn moment was when Frank forgot there were two outs and waited for the ball to drop. "Come on Frank! DAMN!!! THERE'S TWO OUTS!!"
  18. Wow! That Cubs team is really, really bad. I never knew the Sox drafted Buddy Groom either.
  19. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) i could do that bet with ease. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go ahead and try. I thought I could do it with 1%, but the problem is when you start burping it hurts your chest and you can feel the milk trying to come up.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) I thought KW tore his bicep and Frank tore his tricep. There is a huge difference. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recall seeing the Sun-Times saying they were the same, but after looking it up, you are correct.
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) So where is Kenny Williams these days? Anyone hear or see him lately on TV ? Is he on vacation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's hurt. Remember he suffered the same injury that Frank did back in 2001?
  22. I drank 2/3 of a gallon in 20 minutes. I couldn't go on, and eventually it came back up. :puke
  23. That's f***ed up. One hour? It's supposed to be 30 minutes.
  24. :headshake Where were you when Buehrle's ERA was hovering around 2.50?
