QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) Based on what willie has shown full time he can hit .267 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's still your opinion, not a fact.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) I always felt Willie had a better arm and D than Gooch. So Im sorry for looking at the importance in that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Once again, that's an opinion, not a fact.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) I am not the only one who thinks that way. Everyone else is posting opinions so this s*** is rubbing off on me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You were the one who started this thread, no? You were the first to back up your thoughts with opinions and you challenged people to come with the facts and stats. Take a look at the first post! :rolly

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) Quit with this getting guys over BS. Like Fathom said we could put a pitcher in the # 2 hole with that approach. All I know is when I seen Willie Harris Healthy and starting he did a great job. The only reason rowand finally got his shot last year was because of all the injuries. WE HAD NO CHOICE. Other wise I bet Rowand= Traded <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's your opinion that Willie was not playing at fully healthy last season. It's your opinion that Rowand would have been traded. Weren't you the one asking for stats and facts to back up the arguments in this thread?

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Kind of hard to be consistent when you play 2 times a week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He doesn't deserve the playing time. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Felix Diaz, Willie Harris, and Joe Borchard. Take it or get nothing Marlins. B)

Iguchi is a much better number 2 hitter, (MY GOD, Have you already forgotten Willie's pathetic game against Oakland where he couldn't move Pods over in 3 diferent at-bats,) and Iguchi has been struggling since the end of May, not April. Harris is not worthy of being an everyday player.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Mr. T's appearance on Chicago Tribune Live? I need to record the part where he talks about wearing the spoon around his neck.

.258/.317/.395 is not worth $5.6 million. Just two weeks ago his OBP was below .300 :puke

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) I screamed "JENKS YOU ROCK!!!" and he turned, laughing and gave me a thumbs up. Among casual fans he isnt known, so when somebody calls out his name he's pretty interested. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While I was sitting in LF during the ninth today, I told him he did a good job last night and he nodded his head.

I take it you guys didn't plug the site.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) . (even though I would have said the same at the time) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I told Chisoxfn!!!

I laughed while watching the bottom line on ESPN. After showing the scores, they were advertising "Rivalry Week." So which game did they decide to show, that's right, the Yankees-Rangers game! f*** ESPN. :fyou

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) Please find me this no trade clause. I use several resources for contracts and none of them mention his ''no trade clause''... which is always mentioned on here but no one can find. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recall him having a limited no trade clause last year (to like 10 teams,) and them some people were saying there was a clause that invoke a full no trade clause for 2005 if his option was picked up. But like you said, I have never seen it in a story.

QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) 50 Cent isnt a hack <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He sucks. I saw a preview of a video game about him where he's holding a gun to the head of a S.W.A.T team member. What an ego. :headshake

Did anybody record tonights game????
santo=dorf replied to the People's Champ's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you tell me which inning he said it in, I might be able to get an audio recording of it. -
QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Well.. I wouldnt count Olivio because he was already on the major league team but Morse and Reed havent been dissapointing.. Reed: .257 2 HR's 30 RBI's 34 Runs 4 SB's Morse: .343 1 HR 11 RBI's 15 Runs 2 SB's And Reed is also making great plays in the outfield, so I wouldnt act like its no big deal what we gave up.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> GMAB We got what we needed. A strong pitcher for 3 years and we are blowing away the American League. Please tell me more about Mike Morse's defense and how exactly he would have played into the Sox's plans for the future.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Don't look now, but Oakland is only 3 games back of Minnesota for the Wild Card, and 1.5 games back of Texas for second(though still 8 back of Anaheim). Going 27-11 over a stretch of 38 games with the offense finally catching some fire didn't hurt, did it? Anyone can win with 3 aces, eh Hawk? :rolly <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL! They're on their hottest streak of the season and they're still 2 games above .500. Oakland is 3.5 games back and is behind 5 other teams for the Wild Card. Were you satisfied with the results last weekend?

QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Orson Welles was Unicron <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Leonard Nimoy was Galvatron. Robert Stack was Ultra Magnus. Judd Nelson was Hot Rod. That really fast talking guy from the Micro Machines commercials was blur. There are some other famous people in the movie that you wouldn't expect too. It was cool movie and I watch it every once in awhile, but it's time I pick it up for DVD.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Oh, and if money is all that matters, where are the Mets every year? Texas always has a good sized payroll, where are they at? As for Dunn vs. Ichiro, depends on what I needed. Leadoff man, I'll go with Ichiro. If I already got a leadoff man, I'll go with Dunn. EDIT: And Santo, I don't know what you expect out of me anymore. You want me to argue something by posing a question, even though you damn well know the stats I'm going to show you, you really don't give a damn about. And, if you don't believe in the stats I show you, only the stats that fit your argument, what the hell do you want? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You make a claim that Dunn is one of the top 15 offensive players in the game and you bash batting average (no coincidence it doesn't favor Dunn). I simply asked you if think Dunn is a better offensive player than Ichiro. You simply can't use a couple of stats to compare EVERY hitter in the MLB. As for the payroll issues, look at how they spent their money. When Texas had a huge payroll, most of it was to Park and A-Rod, who cashed in back in 2000, a market that will not likely be seen like that for a few more years. Boston spent big money on Lowe, Schilling, Pedro along with great hitters like Ortiz (who became a much better player by hitting opposite field doubles off the monster, not try to draw a walk,) and Manny Ramirez. The Dodgers had a good starting staff and excellent bullpen last season. It also didn't hurt to have Adrian Beltre slug like a monster during a contract year.
