  1. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) In a heartbeat. This team needs a true power pitcher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Garcia? Contreras? Politte? Marte? Jenks? Wood can't throw f***ing strikes or stay healthy, and he is overpaid.
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Is this a joke? Jamie Moyer should be Plan A... At least his career isn't over like Schmidts is. I'd be willing to bet he has much more in the tank. KW needs to go after him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Moyer: 7-3 4.57 ERA 1.48 WHIP .80 GO/AO How exactly is this an improvement over what we have now and what we are willing to give up for him?
  3. I thought this was interesting from the MLB.com board:
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) How'd that pick ahead of MB turn out? You know the one related to RS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [anthraxfan] well how many of KW's picks appiered on CBS's "Survivor"? Yeah thats what I thought. Once again im right and your wrong. [/anthraxfan]
  5. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) yes we all know its maddux, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Too bad it's Curt Schilling. Or was KW hacking the baseball-reference site just so you could f*** up the facts....again?
  6. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) This trade thread has degenerated into oblivion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a trademark of Anthrax's. Hey Anthrax, I really got a kick out of you saying Detroit's payroll is "greatly less" than ours considering their payroll this year is $69,092,000 (15th in the MLB,) compared to the Sox's $75,178,000 (13th.) http://www.onestopbaseball.com/TeamPayroll.asp Once again you have a hard time using FACTS to make a point.
  7. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) No, My point was that KC started out great only to fail to make the playoffs... So my saying, Its not how you start its how you finish.. Now explained for the slow minded here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In 2003 KC was 43-38 after 81 games. The Sox can play .500 or even play at a lesser winning percentage then what they are play at now, and still make the playoffs. How's that for your "It's how you finish" bulls***? I love how you scream and yell how the simple solution were just "sign Cabrera," "sign Colon after we traded for him," or "sign Lowe (a Boras client mind you) or Clement (who chose the Red Sox over the White Sox because he wanted his family to see him pitch in historic Fenway Park)" without even thinking about how the Sox operate on a budget. I suppose you want to blame KW for ripping down Old Comiskey too? I'm sure Clement wouldn't mind pitching in that historic park. :rolly
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Do you actually have to keep putting in your email, zip code, and birth date every time you vote? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you wait a couple of seconds, the info should pop right back in.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) Bastards, this should have been Baj's call up. :fyou What more does the guy need to do to get a chance at the bigs? Hopefully he gets included in one of the deadline deals so that he can go somewhere that is willing to give him a real chance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't want to see him traded. I want him in the BP next year after Vizcaino is non-tendered or traded.

I asked the Marlins fans to, but they seem hellbent that Crawford is more deserving. :headshake
  11. Joe Nathan an All-Star? Dannys Baez over Jorge Cantu? Wickman over Sizemore? I-roid has 5 walks this year (2 are intentional) and has a pathetic OBP of .308. Carl Crawford is overrated too with his .314 OBP, Hunter has a .267 BA, and hopefully Matsui and Jeter can split the Yankee votes like Thomas and Konerko last year. Who decides who is going to final 5 for the 25th spot?
  12. AS probably the biggest supporter of getting Randy Johnson to the Sox during the offseason, I'll tell you how I remember it. -KW says the Sox will no longer try to trade for RJ because his sources tell him he doesn't want to come to Chicago. -Johnson's agent Alan Nero talks to the Arizona brass during the winter meetings and tells MLB.com that Randy never denied wanting to go to the Sox because he was never asked. -Acouple days later after the meeting between the Arizona bosses and Johnson's agent, USA Today (sports Weekly) reports that RJ is willing to come to Chicago if the D'Backs and SOx agree on a trade.
  13. Haven't seen it mentioned, but thanks to Foulke, Timlin gave up 2 ER so his ERA is now 1.64.
  14. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) a guy who closes games for a living is more deserving than a guy who holds leads in the 7th and 8th for a living. i really don't understand how you don't get this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. Wickman almosts always comes in with nobody on base and the lead, whereas a guy like Politte comes in with runners on base and possibly a tied ballgame. Hell, Wickman has inherited 4 runners this year and 3 of them have scored.. Saves can be the most misleading stat IMO. Farmer talked about how he heard Mike Timlin as an All-Star and argue the case for Politte. BTW, I can't believe how big this thread has blown up.
  15. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) damn it I usually have a lot of respect for what Gammons says, but sometimes he is just too enthralled with the BoSox. click here to send him the stats, it's from his website, maybe he'll have to address it on air. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks. Using my 93 characters, I asked him why Timlin is an ALl-Star over Cliff Politte considering Cliff has a much better BAA, WHIP, and K/9.
  16. Wildboyz is f***ing terrible. Steve-o does the same s*** he did in some Jackass episode. What the f*** is so humorous about sticking balls of s*** in your mouth and spitting them out? I like Viva La Bam however.
  17. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) no, he won't..... he's 1-9 in 16 starts. He will get many more no decisions or maybe even a win or two.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you kidding me? He plays for the Royals, and doesn't get run support. That's a horrible combination.
  18. Anyone else see Peter Gammons mention how Timlin should be an all-star last night? Anyone know his e-mail address so I can show him the stats?
  19. I haven't seen this guy post in awhile............ QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Dec 8, 2004 -> 02:52 PM) Terrible move!!! Dustin Hermanson? How in the hell is this guy gonna get paid over 2 million dollars a year. Maybe as a long reliever or sport starter, but nothing else, and that title isn't worth over 2 million a year, especially when your name is Dustin Hermanson. I swear if he's the closer over Shingo or someone else, KW can go f**k off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He was also yelling all offseason to sign Eric Milton too. :puke
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) I found a classic thread. You have Santo=Dorf freaking out about a rumor that has the Sox trading for Pierzinski in November of 04. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I was right about the Sox being weary of signing Pierzynski before KW did a second background check.
  21. This guy is worse than Vizcaino and makes more money. What's the point?
  22. I thought Chavez was on the market because Beane was looking to dump salary and Oakland wasn't going anywhere.
  23. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) you need to be otherworldly to get the nod as a middle reliever. politte's not going. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who else strikes you as being a better middle reliever? Jesse Crain? Crain: IP: 34.2 W-L: 6-0 ERA: 1.04 WHIP: .865 OPP BA: .183 OPS against: .462 K/9: 3.38 Inherited runners-Inherited runners scored: 19-5 Politte: IP: 29.1 W-L: 5-0 ERA: 1.23 WHIP: .716 OPP BA: .135 OPS against: .412 K/9: 9.51 Inherited runners-Inherited runners scored: 24-4
  24. Cliff Politte is worthy of an all-star consideration, but I'm afraid Francona is going to be too biased when selecting set-up men. I have seen both Yankee and Blow Sox fans say Mike Timlin is worthy of an All-Star selection. Why no love for Politte? Timlin: IP: 37.1 W-L: 2-1 ERA: 1.21 WHIP: 1.21 OPP BA: .261 OPS against: .648 K/9: 6.03 Inherited runners-Inherited runners scored: 14-9 Politte: IP: 29.1 W-L: 5-0 ERA: 1.23 WHIP: .716 OPP BA: .135 OPS against: .412 K/9: 9.51 Inherited runners-Inherited runners scored: 24-4
