  1. Hermie! I posted a couple of link to stories on the White Sox main site where they spell it that way.
  2. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) OK Final effort (FINAL spelling) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now that is a work of art.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Ahem <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Looking at it more, it should be "Hermie." http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  4. I remember hearing the same s*** last year when Timo started against him, and he hit a homer off of the Ol' spitball.
  5. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:13 PM) Do you need it re-sized for your avatar? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I'll leave it in my sig. DePloderer, that's f***ing badass. but what would it look like with "Hermey" instead of "Hermy?"
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) Ok... This? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) Like this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah that looks good, but what would it look like with solid letters like on the Bruce Lee shirt?
  8. Could somebody please make a "Hermey is my Homeboy" (this was the sign I held up in San Diego) graphic design? I would like to look something like this: Is there a way to get a trace of Hermanson's mugshot to be like the Bruce Lee picture?
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Also...you say that the Cubs haven't developed an All Star player since Grace. While that is true, they've also found several via trades (Ramierez, Lee), and they've done a dynamite job of developing pitching. Even if the guys they kept were the wrong guys...think about the guys they've traded as well - Garland, Willis, etc. If they're not developing position players, there's no reason not to trade for them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both of those trades were salary dumps by smaller market teams. The Cubs, Red Sox, and Yankees feast on teams with payroll issuses. Is Cashman considered brilliant because he "only" gave up Soriano for 7 years worth of A-Rod?
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:28 AM) This article makes more sense. The Cubs would be giving up prospects for Kotsay, not Patterson. "Yanks, Cubs, Red Sox all after Kotsay" http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3708736 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't recall many saying the Cubs have one of the best farm systems in the game considering they haven't developed an All-Star positional player since Marc Grace, and their overrated pitchers can't stay healthy. And was Mark Prior really considered a prospect considering how long he was in college?
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) When the season's over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This reminds of the old joke "How far can a Dog run into the woods?" Halfway. Because then he is running out of the woods. I would guess the White Sox's start would be up to the 82nd game of the season, because after that they would be finishing the rest of the season.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) And IIRC 3 of those losses were put on the Kitties by our beloved southsiders... But that is neither here nor there, this thread is all about basking in the glory that has been our first 70 games. B) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, they lost to KC to go 9-1. Then they lost Cleveland to go 16-2. Boston beat them two days in a row to "drop" them to 19-4, and then a loss to California made them 26-5. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/DET/1984_sched.shtml For the other 90% of the posters here who aren't old farts ( ) 2001 Mariners after 70 games: 53-17 1998 Yankees after 70 games: 51-19
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Nearly every single time he has had a chance to throw someone out or hold a runner etc... he over throws it by alot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He prevented a run from scoring on the Dodgers game Sunday. Sheesh
  14. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) Torii is also spelled Torri so why don't you just shut up. Your not the grammar police <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's "you're," not "your."
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Dempster's a closer now. So we could. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't hold your breath. That would actually required the Cubs taking a lead into the 9th inning against us.
  16. If the Sox go to the playoffs and do some damage, I couldn't give less of a s*** what El Duque might do next season.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Didn't you say that Chavez was overrated and not worth trading for because he was slumping early in the season? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nice try. I said Chavez was overrated and overpaid based on his career numbers. Remember the "never having a season with an OPS of .900 despite being paid like a slugger" argument? :rolly Speaking of Chavez:
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) Weren't people saying pena is nothing but a young sammy sosa that k's too much with bad defense this past off-season? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about people saying that Oakland would actually compete for the AL West crown. :rolly
  19. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) St. Paul Pioneer Press columnist Charley Walters "Don't be surprised if the Chicago White Sox sign recently released Giants pitcher Jim Brower within a couple of days. The Atlanta Braves are among a half-dozen teams also interested in signing the former Gopher from Minnetonka." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The same guy also said that the Sox were going to trade AJ because of his attitude before this season started. :rolly
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's cool.
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Were you wearing a black white sox jersey? If so, then I saw you with your "He gone" sign a few times. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, that may have been Hangar18 on Friday or Saturday night. I've been watching the 8th and 9th innings from Saturday's game, but I still haven't seen it. Was it Saturday's game for sure? Otherwise I may have held it up on Sunday after Rowand's 3-R homer thinking they would bring him in for the save.
  22. I made this reference when the pictures were first released, can someone PLEASE photoshop him onto a Bobby Hill body? (King of the Hill, not the s***ty Pirates player.)
  23. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) was willie hitting on any teenage girls? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, he had a pretty hot chick with him who just smiled the entire time I was marking out for Everett. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) I don't recall HE GONE, or the whose your padre but I'm 97.84% sure I say the Hermey one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cool. I held that one up on saturday night, and consenquently I caught A TON of s*** for it at the end of the game. :banghead
  24. For those of you who watched every minute of the Sox series in San Diego, can you tell me if you recall seeing Sox fans on TV holding up a "HE GONE," "Hermey is my Homeboy," or "Who's Your Padre Now?" signs? I met Carl and Willie at the mall on Saturday afternoon. They ate as the same restaurant as my friend and I. Carl is f***ing awesome, Willie was OK, but he was willing to take a picture of Everett and I.
