  1. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) If Iguchi was the #1 target, the sox wouldn't haggle w/ him for over a month for a few 1000K. Could be KW "flying under the radar" on the trade front. Few FA's are left better than willie. But many via trade <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Beck, Levine said that earlier report of the Sox being $600,000 apart from Icughi was BS. His agent was looking for "Matsui" money the entire time, but now he might have to settle for "Matt Suey" money.
  2. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Nelson would be okay. But whats the latest with Urbina? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guillen said he will be ready for the Season regardless of what happens with his mother. Why would Detroit trade within the Division? Why would we want another (expensive) closer? Home: 3.77 ERA 1.12 WHIP Away: 5.33 ERA 1.50 WHIP I used to be big on him before the 2004 season, but I wouldn't want him now.
  3. What do we do if Carl tears it up while Frank is gone? Do we trade him when Frank comes back, or does he become a $4 million bat off of the bench? It should also be noted that Carl has a team option for $5.5 million next season. So we could pick it up and trade him after the 2005 season.
  4. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) I think I answered those questions on the first page <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry Beck, I scrolled too quicklly and thought your second post was the first post of the thread. Carl Everett, Neal Cotts and Harris for Castillo and a prospect I don't think the Marlins will do that, and we'd be dumping more power, a switch hitter (we need lefties too,) a couple of young players whom have showed signs of being quality major leaguers for an overpaid singles hitter and a prospect? No thanks. Why should the Sox strap themselves with yet another large contract for the next 2-3 years?
  5. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Marte hasn't been mentioned in this thread. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well his name has been tossed around the most with these total speculation Castillo trade threads. Whom should we give to the Marlins for him, and why would the Marlins want these players?
  6. I'm sick of seeing us forced to give up players in order to fill our holes. KW described Iguchi as "an impact" player. Look at Castillo's contract: 2005: 5.33 million 2006: 5.33 million 2007: 5.25 million team option. Why should we f*** with our own payroll constraints for the next 2-3 years while we're giving up a guy like Damaso Marte? I'll pass

    I think, hands down, he is the youngest poster at Soxtalk.
  8. There's a game worn Contreras Jersey on ebay right now and it's my size. Should I wear if I were to get it? (Yes I realize how sweaty Contreras gets on the mound )
  9. Don't worry about it. I tried to get into Hockey years ago, but it reminded me of Soccer too much (which I consider a kids game. I guess the Soccer people hate me too. )

    QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) what Windows do you have? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> XP.
  11. QUOTE(Sox V2 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Great problem to have...this is probably the most excited I've ever been for the beginning of baseball...and after last year's offseason...it's a good change. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Welcome!
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) How many have there been? Five, at most? Like Krush said, if you don't like it, fine -- but can't you guys just stay out of the thread, rather than the one liners of "Hockey sucks", "I don't like hockey, so it's ok with me". Fine, you don't like hockey. Then don't even look into a thread labled "Hockey, Anyone"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're right, I forgot my manners. Next time someone asks me if I want any hockey, I'll say what my mom always told me to say; "No thank you." Jesus people, quit taking this so personal.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Portraying White Sox fans as violent criminals? Never heard this angle. I recall a friend of mine, who was one of the fans razzing Hunter, said absolutely no one threatened his life. Several other people in the group colloborated this. You'd think an allegation as severe as threatening someones life would warrant an arrest, or at the least removal from USCF. Neither occured. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not only that, Hunter started jawing back at the fans talking about what he could do with his bat . What a professional. :rolly
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) No offense, go f*** yourself guys. Some us actually want hockey. Don't even bother chiming in on these threads. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kenny, this is a baseball board (Yes I realize this the "other" Sports section.) How many more "I miss Hockey" pity threads do we need? Didn't Carolina's owner basically say the season is over and they will be offering refunds soon?
  15. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Why in the heck would you want to snort anything off a toliet lid? Especially a public toliet lid? *Shudder* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was thinking they meant people using the tank to snort s*** off of.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) I hope they dont start playing again. That way i dont have to watch the stupid highlights on sportscenter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ditto.
  17. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) maybe he needed to take a piss on the floor but not at his place <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the toilets are there for a reason.......to be overfilled with puke. :puke
  18. :rolly :rolly :rolly Seriously f*** YOU Torii!!!! :fyou :fyou :fyou
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) Goddammit, I wanted them to lose so bad. Good luck next tuesday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :headshake
  20. I can't even watch the game, I'm too nervous. :headshake:
  21. You're wasting your time arguing with him. He was the one who said he knew more about sabermetrics than 95% of the other people on this board, and said RJ for Garland would be a good deal for Arizona, and Crede for A-Rod would be a good deal for the Yanks. :headshake :banghead
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Tommy Lee Jones is a Sox fan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "I don't care!" I never knew that Steff.
  23. QUOTE(Man Of Steel @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) If your friend KNOWS he does this why does he just not? haha.. seems funny to me, you would think that if you know you do that stuff you would be able to fix that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just when you think you have all of the answers, BMAC CHANGES THE QUESTIONS!!! MUWAHAHAHAHAH!!!
  24. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) Tom Hanks is a Sox Fan. As well as the fat Guy on Cheers. And the Oak Bridge boys or whatever there name is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> George Wendt went to the same High School as my Dad for one semester (Norm got kicked out for bad grades.) Rev. Jesse Jackson goes to a good amount of Sox games. Cliff Floyd is a Sox fan, as is Mark Mulder (I see the Sox signing him after 2006.) Jenny McCarthy (who is in this month's Playboy, and she still looks great) is a Sox fan as well.
