So we should be happy that our ownership doesn't have to raise the payroll to adding a player of Randy Johnson's caliber? Why do you care how much (little) money Reinsdorf and Co. spend this offseason? I would be shocked if they signed Odalis Perez or Matt Clement and didn't trade Konerko this offseason.
-
Wait a minute. I heard that Javy could demand a trade after the 2005 season because he has more than 2 years left on his deal. What happens if he demands a trade? He becomes a FA if KW decides not to trade him? f*** that. I would rather give up more to get one year (possibly two) of Randy Johnson than one year of Vazquez.

Who cares? It's Purdue, and they can lick my balls. -
How do you know KW "wanted" to give up Anderson? It was started on internet message boards, then Phil Rogers included his name in a potential deal, then an Arizona paper mention Anderson, and now Gammons is "reporting" it. I'll believe it when I hear it from KW's mouth. Would any of you be willing to part with Anderson if Arizona tossed in another prospect?
-
Ditto. Depending on how much money the Yanks would send with Javy, we would probably be investing more money in Javy than Randy.
-
Could we PLEASE give him one full year before we give up on him? What else could we have traded Esteban Loaiza for at the offseason? Does anyone know if his entire family is now in Chicago? I'll wait for the "We could've used that money to sign two free agent pitchers this offseason" post, but I don't have any faith in Reinsdorf signing one FA pitcher, let alone two.

You're right about the argument, yet you can't comprehend post. :rolly I'll break it down for you; Who has more MLB experience; Polanco, or one of these two guys you suggested? For the record, I'm not one of these posters obsessed with Polanco, I'm obsessed with trading for Randy Johnson.
-
:dips*** OMG!!! I was talking about the fact that he has been playing Japanese baseball. Where has Polanco been playing all of these years, in Latin America? :rolly Why am I even wasting my time arguing with someone who claims he is " to smart for a Demarcate?" Whatever the f*** that is supposed to mean. :headshake

I'm getting sick of this Mike Jackson and Danny Wright being on the 2004 Sox argument. Look at the Spring Training stats, and tell me whom should've made the team. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...ining_stats.jsp Marte, Schoenweis, Takatsu, and Koch had worse numbers than either Jackson or Wright. Jackson also had an ERA of 1.93 through April. Ozzie started mishandling him, and he fell apart.

Yeah, so let's bring in a japanese import to swing and miss at those curveballs instead. :rolly

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Padres signed FA lefty fatass Dennys Reyes to a one year deal. http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3199144

I've always like this guy, and I found this to be interesting. I find it interesting that Wade Miller made as much as Jon Garland will make for 2005 last year. If you look at his career stats before 2004, you'll notice that his numbers are much better than Garland's too.

Someone posted a link over at WSI, and all it asked for was your e-mail address, and phone number for 2 free issues. I came back from a bar crawl that night, so I gave them my actual phone number. :dips*** But I haven't recieved any calls yet. -

I'll ask Chewie if he's interested. What does he want for them, just face value? As I opened up my free issuse of Playboy today, I noticed that they ranked us #1! For being #1! For Playboy! -
What's the link to the contest? I can never find it on fark.com. Also, do you not know how to hot link photos? You're always attaching images, and the other day, you attached the same roulette wheel twice. Just curious.

What year did you graduate from Central?
-
Based on what? Johnson is twice the pitcher that Garland is, Clement's career numbers aren't that impressive for a career NL pitcher, and Grilli only made 8 starts for the Sox. If this team wants to win big, they need a dominating pitcher. A well rounded rotation didn't win the Cardinals a World Series because they were mowed down by TWO dominating pitchers.
-
What do you mean by "high?" Above the league average, or a raw number like 5.00? Buehrle was able to post a 3.89 ERA this season, I'm sure Johnson could post an ERA pitching like that att USCF.
-
I think we're more likely to get more quality starts from a Johnson-Grilli combo than a Garland-Clement combo. Clement can be a headcase like Garland and he is more injury prone than Johnson.
-
You really need to put the crack pipe down Jeckle. Randy won 16 games for a team that won less than 60 games this past year. Do you really think the 2005 Sox offense would be as bad as the 2004 Diamondbacks' offense if we lost Konerko?

Which is the most dramatic ending to a game?

Steve Finley's Walk-off Grand Slam to cap a ninth rally to win the division last year was better than any of that triple overtime s*** seen in the NHL playoffs. :sleep Thank God for the lockout.
