I got a kick from reading this.
-
To those saying Washington; I remember reading something that said Washington wants to move Wilkerson to first base. I don't think Washington is an option. IMO, only LA, Arizona, and both New York teams would have an interest in PK.
-
Knuckle, you said you don't want Randy.
-
Shuts down Cleveland? Give me a f***ing break. 5 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 4K's. He got bailed out in the sixth when the game was still close at 3-1 by Cliff Politte and some amazing defense by Rowand prevented the game from being tied in the fifth. Link Shuts down Cleveland? To quote Lee Elia, MY f***ING ASS!!!

Says who? I think Randy could dominate all of the young hitters on the Tigers, Indians, and Royals.

I am getting so sick and f***ing tired of this pathetic argument. The Sox don't have $16 million to spend on free agents, so people think we can't afford Randy. The deal for Randy would most likely include Konerko (making $8.75 million for the Sox in 2005) and Jon Garland ($3.4 million in 2005.) This means the Sox would less than $4 million to the payroll. Who could we sign for $4 million that would improve our pitching staff?
-
Aw man. I went to High School with him and he is cousins with one of my friends.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf went on the Score and said Guzman's numbers away from the Metrodome were "pathetic." Why do you have to be an asshole about everything?
-
At that point in time, these critics of KW would be too busy ripping on him for not making any moves to put us over the hump back in 2003, and could care less whom would be filling out our bullpen for 2004. :rolly Hell, looking at Frankie's splits, he didn't even pitch in the majors in April, and his ERA in May was 6.14. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...7911&statType=2

LOL!!!! "great prospects?" Please tell me what good "great prospects" are a team is in a pennant chase. They are only good for trading. Edwin Almonte has been released by the Mets, "Our future closer" Royce Ring couldn't cut it in the Mets AAA organization, and is now with their AA team, and I can't find anything on the where-abouts of Andrew Salvo. Frankie Francisco had a pretty good year with the Rangers, but will forever be remembered as the guy who threw a chair into the stands at Oakland. Anthony Webster is with the Stockton Ports (A), and Josh Rupe is with the Frisco RoughRiders (AA) putting up unimpressive numbers. I ask you, how many of these six "great" players would've helped the White Sox in 2003 and 2004?
-
How is Garland "guarunteed" to put up those mediocre numbers for 2005? Cory Lidle just signed a 2 year $6.2 million with the Phillies. I would take him over Garland. Get off of Garland's nuts already. He isn't anything special. :headshake

:dips*** Konerko is half of our offense?? :headshake

Better than the flub fans and Dodgers fight back in 2000 too.
-
From your list, the only one I like is sideshowapu.
-
:dips*** Is it KW's fault that Wunsch, Eldred, Baldwin, Thomas, and Parque were all hurt in 2001? Those guys all had HUGE roles in 2000, and they weren't around for all of 2001. What the f*** did you expect from a team that was decimated from injuries?
-
Is there going to be an ignore feature when the boards are updated?
-
Jon Rauch went on the DL for Montreal too, and he may have made MORE than the league minimum. Quit Crying.
-
This might be a start. Neighbor?
-
He can't stay healthy, he lost velocity on his fastball, and he only goes 2/3 of inning per outing. I don't understand the big deal with Wunsch. It must be due to his huge role back in 2000.
-
Frankie Francisco is not the closer for the Texas Rangers, Francisco Cordero is. And if you think we would've given Frankie a shot at the Closer's role before Shingo, or Marte, you're either nuts, or yet another 14 year old poster. The Sox needed his bat back in 2003, there's no point in playing the "hindsight 20/20" game.

My junior high had a program where a select number of kids would go to the high school and take algebra 1 the first hour of high school, and come back late to junior high. I skipped Algebra 2 freshman year and took Honors Geometry instead, then I took Honors College Algebra, then Trig/Analytical geometry, and then Calculus my senior year with 6 other people. I thought I was special until I met some kids here at U of I who took Calc III in high school.
-
Wunsch is worthless. He cleared waivers when he was taken off of the 40 man roster last August.
-
They are? We paid Carl Everett the minimum for 2004, and they got damaged goods in Jon Rauch, and Gary "The Cat" Majewski. (I call him the cat because he kept ending up in the Sox organization.)
-
How was that first Carl Everett trade bad? We traded three prospects for an All-Star and CASH. Two of the them are still in the minors, and the other one tossed a chair at a fan.
