Magglio Ordonez
Fair enough. I posted several times how I thought Maggs was being greedy for wanting more than the 15 MIL the Sox were offering but thats as far as I took it.

:dips*** My my. Maggs is leaving town and all of a sudden he's a bad guy. Never mind all those homeruns and RBI he had for us over his tenure here. Tell me, does Jerry Reinsdorf whisper in your ear what to post on Soxtalk? Oh, wait, saying what you said is beneath even him.

Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
I won't believe that until I have a good reason to. KW has made all the right moves so far this off-season and I think he has 1 more left in him.

All-pro punter
What kind of a sorry ass team has a punter as their team MVP. Oh....wait. :rolly

All-pro punter
At least he didn't hurt anybody.

I *heart* Steve Stone
Steve Stone was the only guy in that organization with any integrity and they forced him out for it. Just goes to show how sorry assed the Flubbs organization is.

Clement Article
You sell yourself short. In this day and age that's still worth a couple of Mil a season.

You TOO can get involved in a MLB bidding war!!

Magglio Ordonez
Of course. Just like when someone like Wilson Alvarez pitches against us.
-
Nightmare PR possibility
That would be the best case scenario and I think its a very realistic one as well. We've got the cash for it so there's really no excuse why KW cant make this happen.

Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
You want Ross Gload to replace Konerko? Is Gload that much better defensively that you can just wave good bye to 41HR'S and 117 RBI's like that? I think not. Between Everett and Thomas I'd be surprised if the Sox can get a whole season out of the 2 of them put together as broke down as they are physically. My biggest beef with this whole idea is that it does nothing to address the 5th starter problem which is what absolutely killed us last season and costs us too much in return. I am totally thankful the Spankees grabbed him up and killed this stink-bomb of a deal.

5th Starter for the WhiteSox in 2005
Such negativity. If we make it to opening day without signing someone like Clement/Perez/Lowe/Millwood then I'll be upset and rant accordingly. All this wild speculation and none of these 4 guys have gone anywhere yet. Give it some time.

Magglio Ordonez
He was probably right to do so. This organization gets no sympathy from me if they take a well deserved bloody nose in the media.

Clement Article
I think it's important enough to get him here that we throw another MIL at him to seal the deal. We've saved a pile on the LEE trade so there's no excuse for letting this guy slip through our fingers.

Sox ink Uribe to multiyear deal
I guess we'll find out this coming season where he's truly going. One thing is for certain and that he's a defenite upgrade over Jose Valentin and he's coming at roughly half the price. Solid, SOLID move by KW.

December 2004 Quotes of the Month
SEALgep had a good one just now in the Juan Uribe thread.

Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
Yeah, lets bring him here so we lose Konerko's production and spin the roulette wheel every 5th day to see who starts for yet another season. Bring Johnson here under those terms and we'll be freekin lucky to win 88 games.
-
Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
No. No. No. Forget about RJ. Wrong pitcher at the wrong time that costs too damn much in terms of players to bring here and opens up more holes than it closes.
-
Magglio Ordonez
I'd probably still cheer. Maggs gave us a lot of good years here in Chicago and I respect that.
-
Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
I totally think its a good thing. It forces Kenny to forget about that cockamaime scheme to bring him here and to get back on task with bringing someone like Clement here who can be had without making a team-busting trade.

WSCR reports on Clement
That's a really solid rotation from top to bottom. I'll stand on that any day of the week.

WSCR reports on Clement
If you're comparing Navarro to Clement you have rocks in your head. The two aren't even close.
