and who might that be? Uribe? Fine with me, but I would rather have Cabrera at SS and Uribe at 2nd, but that is just me.
-
Maybe not, but we have to get at least one of them I think and then get someone else of high quality defensively at the other position. We can't have the type of pitching staff we currently have and have the type of defensive players we currently have. It just hasn't worked out well and it won't work out well.
-
I agree with just about everything you said, except for the part of giving up too much. I don't believe we did. Only time will tell, like you said.
-
Why are you or anyone else comparing him to Joe Borchard? Is there a reason for this? Was there an option where we could have included him in this deal instead of Reed?
-
Yes I would be changing my tune. I highly doubt he will come anywhere near those numbers. In 15 starts this year he has 8 wins. With a better team, especially better defensively, I see him getting a lot more wins and his ERA going further down. I understand you can't play defense against a home run, but I think once he gets more confidence in his defense he won't try to get everyone out by himself and thus make better pitches. How we revamp our defense up the middle in the offseason will be key. We have some quality out there in Cabrera and Beltran. We have to make a run at them both.

If what you say is true, which I have no reason not to believe as you are a very credible and knowledgable source, then I still side with Kenny with this one. If you are going to make a push for the playoffs, which we were, then you can't trade away two regulars like that. Too many unknowns. I believe he did the right thing.
-
So lets say we kept Reed and didn't get Garcia or Davis. Are we better off? Instead of getting a quality starter, which we desperately needed, we would have more added depth to a position that we have the most quality depth at in the minors. What is the sense of that? Aren't you supposed to trade from your strengths in order to make your weak areas stronger? You think that Brian Anderson or Ryan Sweeny can't develop into at least the player Jeremy Reed is? Come on now.
-
Who cares. He has played in 11 games. Whoop Dee f***in Doo! I mean, yeah good luck to a Seattle Mariner. Wonderful!!! Lets see what he does for a whole season. Come on, 39 f***ing at bats? Who really gives a rats ass. This is way too early to say he is better than anyone the Sox supposedly could have given up. Plus I don't believe it was Joe Crede INSTEAD of Reed. I believe it Was Olivo, Reed, AND Crede. So you would want to make what you call a bad deal an even worse deal? Rifukcindiculous. We are all fans here and we will never really know what this trade was being talked about. However, I never once heard that Crede or Borchard could have been suplemented for Jeremy Reed. I have only heard where Crede would have been ADDED in the deal.

Here is my team: QB Daunte Culpepper QB Rich Gannon RB Thomas Jones RB Chris Brown RB Quentin Griffin RB Lee Suggs RB Stephen Jackson RB Moe Williams WR Randy Moss WR Jevon Walker WR Ashley Lelie WR Tyrone Calico WR Anquan Boldin K Josh Brown D/ST Tennessee Titans We use a WR/TE flex spot so I didn't take a TE as WRs will usually out perform TEs. So far I am 2-0, but I am looking to get Tatum Bell because I just don't trust Quentin Griffin staying healthy for the entire year. The team with Tatum Bell looks like this: QB Peyton Manning RB Edgerrin James RB Brian Westbrook RB Michael Bennett RB Eddie George RB Lamar Gordon RB Tatum Bell RB Aaron Stecker WR Koren Robinson WR Jimmy Smith WR David Givens WR Kevin Johnson TE Randy McMichael K Ryan Longwell D/ST New York Giants At first when I asked for Tatum Bell the owner of the other team asked for Stephen Jackson, which I turned down. Since he already has Michael Bennett I offered him Moe Williams straight up for Tatum Bell as it is now being reported that Michael Bennett has some ACL damage. Michael Bennett's ACL damage along with Onterrio Smith's suspension should open the door for Moe Williams to play in just about every October game, if not more. The owner of the other team shot that trade down. He then proposed Anquan Boldin straight up for Tatum Bell. Now I found this to be a bit steep of a price to pay for a backup RB as Boldin is a 1300 yard 8 TD receiver in an offense that passes the ball a lot. He should be coming back around the 6th or 7th week. I think this is a bit steep and very lopsided in the other guy's favor. What do you think? I then countered on his trade and offered Moe Williams and Anquan Boldin for Tatum Bell and David Givens. I have yet to hear back from the other owner about that trade, but that seems fair doesn't it? Please let me know what you guys feel is fair and what you think should be a quality offer from me. Thanks in advance!

I doubt Maggs is coming back. I am having serious doubts that he comes back with anyone. This injury seems to be more career threatening than it does anything else. The injury is not improving as quickly as they had hoped and he may not even be ready at the start of next season. Who is to say he will ever play again? This injury is not normal.
-
woops!!!!! why would it be in there? I thought that was for white sox specific topics. SORRY!!!!!!!!!
-
OZONE Factor What do you guys think?
-
is it just for this season or a keeper league? Either way Roy WIlliams is absolutely awesome. I would grab that guy in a heartbeat. Stallworth, and everyone in that offense for that matter, is way too inconsistent IMO.
-
So far I make stupid ass comments and I am thin skinned. Wonderful.
-
Calling something I said a stupid ass comment has no connection to me? Jeeze have some respect old lady.
-
exactly, just waiting until 4:30.
-
I have not been told anything, however I can rationalize. I know that calling someone a bunch of losers won't set something like that off. You suck and a bunch of losers are pretty much the same thing. I don't think either one of those comments would instigate a fight such as what happened at Oakland. Then again that is just using a bit of rationaliztion.
-
Hmm, personal attacks? It's a damn shame. Not many people do this on this board. This is usually for the WSI board. hatever floats your boat I guess. :rolly
-
Ok then, I can't believe that someone, such as yourself, that can rationalize would honestly believe that calling players "a bunch of losers" could instigate something like that. They hear much worse than that every single day.
-
your not? :rolly
-
What is Jackie going to do? Not even most of the players playing with or against him wanted him there? Are you seriously comparing the two? If he ever did anything other than what he did he would have been killed. All he could do was sit back and take it. That doesn't make it right, but there was absolutely nothing else he could do. Don't ever compare the two. That was ridiculous.
-
What facts do you have? Whatever the lawyers have stated? Whatever the OAKLAND fans around them have stated? NICE! Like I said, it was JMO. :rolly
-
So you honestly believe that? You honestly believe that some fans called a couple players "a bunch of losers" and that would make someone throw a chair at another person? Did you see Brocail's face? He was going completely nuts. There is no way that someone calling you "a bunch of losers" instigates that. I don't think you believe for one second that that is ALL that was said.
-
Maybe you should find out what they said first. What if I found out all of your children's names and your wife's name and said some horrible s*** that I was going to do to them. Then what would you do? You don't know whether to take theses psycho fans, who know every little piece of information about you, seriously or not. Who knows how far some of these fans will go and who knows what you can believe about what they say. Didn't the Cleveland fans make David Wells cry when his mother passed away? I believe they said such horrible s*** about his mother that just died the day before that he couldn't even take it. He had to leave the field and go back in the locker room to contain himself. Certain fans go way to far and to be honest with you I never understood the point of heckling.

I believe you are right. This is a big problem with this country, we are so sue happy. It is like the new American dream. The new quickest way to riches. The new easiest way to make money. She and her husband were the cause of the whole incident. She and her husband were the instigators. They don't deserve the money that is coming their way. She may or may not have deserved a chair in the face, but she definately doesn't deserve the money she will make from this incident.
