  1. I didn't know NIck Johnson failed in Montreal. That is news to me!
  2. What is your point? Polanco would be hitting in front of Thomas and Lee for the White Sox. ARe you making this comment to give us an example of how well Polanco will fit in our line up?
  3. You have show us exactly ZERO that would back up your statement of him being a productive #2 hitter. ZERO!!!!! When you do that let me know. I have shown you how wrong you were time and time again. You know that he did not last long as Boston's # 2 hitter becuase he sucked and you know that Montreal, f***ING MONTREAL, moved him out of the 2 hole because he sucked there. One he was moved to bat 7, 8, or 9 in Boston is when he began to hit. Do you understand this or no? Come on now. If he is a not a # 2 hitter then he does not fit with this team. It is that simple!
  4. I would be all for getting Nick Johnson. He is only 26, or 4 years younger than Antrax boy Cabrera, with a ton of potential. Anthrax, Nick Johnson was a big part of why Javier Vazquez was sent to the Yanks, it has nothing to do with his ability. He also had no where to go with Jason Giambi playing first and Bernie Williams being moved to DH. Do you even think about things before you type? Anyways, here is what scouts inc. says about him: Hitting Johnson is one of the most patient hitters in the league. This had gotten him into trouble at times during his rookie campaign, when pitchers came right at him and often put him behind in the count. But the balance shifted last year as he began to earn greater respect. Not a classic power hitter by any stretch, he hits a lot of line drives and will use the whole field. He may mature into a .300 hitter, or he may develop into a consistent 25-homer guy, but even if he does neither, he'll remain a fine-if somewhat unconventional-No. 2 hitter because of his ability to get on base. Baserunning & Defense Johnson has been used as a DH at times, but that isn't due to any defensive deficiencies. He's a good first baseman with decent range around the bag, and three of his five errors came in a disastrous September game against Detroit. He runs deceptively well, and it can't be taken for granted he'll always stay put.
  5. Either that or he is a complete moron. He has yet to prove to anyone that Cabrera fits with our team or that he was ever a good #2 hitter. I think he was clueless and ignorant to what Cabrera actually was and is and now has nothing more to add to the discussion. Now he is just trying to be a clown about it.
  6. No he wasn't. I think you are thinking of Kent Mercker or Moises Alou. I never heard Walker crying about being criticized. If anything Stone and Caray wanted him in there instead of Grudz.
  7. How many times does it have to be proven to you that he just does not fit in our lineup. We need a #2 hitter and Polanco fits that need as well as playing a very good 2B. Cabrera would be a great fit for this team if we wanted to start collecting middle infielders that play great defense that bat 7, 8, or 9 in the lineup. Get that through your head! He just doesn't fit this team. I have tried to show you that he is not a #2 hitter and everytime he was given that chance he failed miserably. He failed hitting in that spot with both the expos and red sox. You are not looking at the big picture. I will agree with you that Cabrera is a slick fielding shortstop that would be a great #7,8, or 9 hitter. WE NEED A #2 HITTER!!! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD!!
  8. Please, I hope there is no way that we are interested in Clement.
  9. pheew! for a second there I thought we agreed. I was about to have my head examined. Bring Walker in! His defense isn't the greatest but it isn't horrible. I would not mind him as our #2 hitter at all.
  10. he was not in the #2 hole for Boston the whole time he was there. They moved him out of there becuase he was doing so poorly. They were even trying Bellhorn there because Cabrera was so awful. Cabrera batted 7th, 8th, or 9th, which is where he should be. In Montreal he was moved to 6th because he couldn't hit high in the order. Now you want me to believe he will all of a sudden change and become the ideal #2 hitter for the White Sox? Idiotic! Go to MLB.com and check out the box scores and tell me where he was hitting. Don't make up crap as you go along.
  11. There is now way Cabrera is a #2 hitter. Montreal tried him there and he failed. Boston tried him there and he failed. He is a 7-9 hitter, that is all. Polanco is a prototypical #2 hitter. He gets on base, moves the runner over, and can bunt. His 2B defense is very good as well. You are a strange dude.
  12. Ritchie was not KW's move, it was Schuler's. What is wrong with Carl Everett? THere is nothing wrong with Sandy Alomar if you are not expecting him to be an everyday catcher, which we weren't. What are you? 12 years old? allot = a lot! Damnit!
  13. KW does not have a hard on for the guy. He has tried to replace him before with Royce Clayton. Did you forget that? KW is all about SS being a defensive position first. He only signed him the that deal last year because there was not a better value at that position. Where do you get that KW has a hard on for Valentin?
  14. You would have to worry about Reyes and his hamstring problems which is why the Mets are trying to trade him. Many in the organization think that these hamstring problems are chronic. That would not be good.
  15. Wow, forget it. Cabrera is not a top of the lineup type of hitter. Polanco is and that is why he is the better fit. Many others have also said the same thing on this board. It is frightening to me that you can't see that. I am done arguing with you as you seem to know very little about what you are speaking about. I am certainly glad you will not be the GM of my favorite team as it would be a very ugly team that you would build.
  16. Polanco is the perfect #2 hitter 2nd baseman. He is a perfect fit for this team that should not cost a lot of money. I don't believe Cabrera is woth the money he is going to get. Renteria would be great, but there will be a lot of competition for him, which usually leads to overpaying or signing with a team that has the best chance to win now.
  17. What did you expect to get back for Rauch. Please just give me an example of what you expected in returrn. Please also tell me what purpose Jon Rauch served or could currently server on this team. Carl Everett fills a whole as a much needed left handed hitter in a very right handed dominant lineup. He should help us a great deal next year. I don't see Rauch ever helping out anyone.
  18. Then you must be in love with a guy like Jeremy Burnitz or Preston Wilson. We can have either of those guys pretty cheaply. Why haven't you recommended them?
  19. damnit. At least learn how to write. Use too and to correctly please. It is getting very annoying.
  20. I think he will too. KW always goes out and gets that one big acquisition in the offseason. I think this is it.
  21. From what I read at a couple different places it is Jon Garland, Paul Konerko, and Brian Anderson. Do you still do it?
  22. We were lucky to get anything for Rauch. This trade is the least of KWs worries. He is lucky he got more than a bag of balls for the jamoke.
