  1. Dont see that happening, he is probably there most untouchable player, first they are only a couple of games behind us, they are young, and we are in their division. What does he have almost 60 RBIS this year already?
  2. I like this deal better than the Mags for Ortiz and A. Jones deal, so if anything I hope this stopped that trade. Ben Davis, though is not much of a bat, can at least call a game, and throw as well, 44% last year is not too shabby. We have enough hitting, pitching is the key. My understanding, listening to Murphy and Huber coming in to work today, is that not too many of the pitchers on the Sox were happy pitching to Olivo, and management said that he didn't call a good game. I see them making another move for a catcher, Santiago before getting hurt, Kendall (too much $), Zaun from Toronto would be okay, Charles Johnson, would be good, Estrada would be the best, so if they would make the Mags deal, heres my deal: Mags, Rauch, 2 minor leaguers for Ortiz, Estrada and JD Drew. Or a deal with Anaheim, Mags and Valentin for Ortiz, Eckstein and someone else, bullpen help. :fthecubs
  3. At 9:50 this morning, I heard Baum and Rosenbloom on the Score, and Olken, on the update mentioned that this rumor was close to being done, he said it has been talked about for the last 24 hours. The names he mentioned was Ortiz for Rauch and two position players from the minors. After the update, either Baum or Rosenbloom mentioned that Mags would be traded for a #1 starter as well. If I can get Drew or A. Jones, Smoltz and Ortiz, I would be up for that. I don't know about Moyer, 41 years old? I think I would rather have Ben Sheets then Moyer, or the other Ortiz from Anaheim. :fthecubs
  4. Coming to work today, I was listening to the clowns on 670, (score), one of them mentioned that the Cubs should trade Patterson and someone else for Crawford. The other one, stated that Crawford can't play centerfield, any truth to this? If he could, I would make this deal as well. Also Bruce Levine reported that the Sox were close to getting Jose Contreras, but they were to give up Reed and a top AA prospect, for some reason this didn't happen. He also said that though reports say that Freddie Garcia was Yankee bound, this is not accurate, as they don't have the prospects that Seattle wants. He mentioned the Sox, though unlikely, Boston, and Minnesota, as they have alot of prospects.
  5. I couldn't of said it better, you are 100 percent correct, look what Alex did in Philly with Amonte and Roenick as his linemates, and Amonte wasn't that great, if Philly got to the Cup, Alex could of been the high scorer in this years playoffs.
  6. whats the love affair with this guy, he is slow as molasses, I don't want him.
  7. What I heard is a clip played by Boers that had Hawk and DJ talking, I am sure from a broadcast. I can't recall the exact quote that Hawk said, but it was more or less him saying that he has run into people who have never put on a uniform, but have watched baseball for forty years. He says that these people argue with him that even though they have never wore a uniform, they know some things about baseball. Hawk says that these people don't know anything at all about baseball. From the clip that I heard, Hawk sounded like an asshole.
  8. If Okafor goes to Orlando and Deng to the Clipps, then I would trade #3 (Howard) to Atlanta for Jason Terry, their #6 and their #17 picks, we could rape them, they want Howard so bad. :fthecubs
  9. This is what I would do if I was Paxson, even if I get the first pick, I would trade this pick to Atlanta for their lottery pick, whatever it is, and Stephen Jackson, I know that they want the High School player from Atlanta really bad, like the Cavs and Lebron last year, so I think we would be able to rape them in a deal. :fthecubs
  10. I was just reading six pages of this, and I am wondering why no one has mentioned the Angels as trade partners? With Glaus out for the year, Erstad out, Anderson out, they definitely need hitting and they have pitching to give up, though I don't want Sele.
  11. With Troy Glaus going down, trade Valentin to Anaheim for either Ortiz or Washburn, however, I don't think Washburn will be traded after his hot start. :fthecubs
  12. Exactly, when Alex was productive in Chicago, he had Amonte and a healthy Daze, who were his linemates this year? True he has Amonte and Roenick in Philly, but there are other goal scorers there as well, and the pressure is not on him to produce, whereas, his best game is as a 2-way player. They have Roenick, Amonte, Primeau, LeClair, Rechi, Kapanen, etc. Look at Kapanen, he was a goal producer before coming to Philly, the pressure is not on there. In Chicago, they tried to focus on defense, and they didn't have scoring "pop", that is why, when they won games they would be 2-1, 3-2, etc., and when they would get down early, and have to open up their games, they would get blown away like 8-2, etc. Finally, trust me, Alex is so much happier in Philly, and it's not just because they are in the playoffs and the Hawks aren't.
  13. Zhamnov was productive in all his stops, other than Chicago, maybe its the system and not him????
  14. I believe that he has family here, in fact, I work with his cousin.
  15. Has anyone noticed? I am in a pitchers pool and I was checking ESPN for names of all pitchers. They still have Robert Person on the White Sox, they have Kevin Tapani pitching for the Cubs, but the messed up one is Daryll Kile for the Cardinals.
  16. Yeah, your right, I'm a freak, but a freak with a shoe collection worth over 25G.
  17. I am an avid collector of Sports Memorabilia, my main interest are basketball items, especially game worn shoes. I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that has shoes for sale, or knows someone or someplace that does. Thanks.
  18. Yes, it is I who have the tickets, I actually got them for free and got $25 a ticket for them. In regards to the hats given away, I figure, they will have 8,000 left over after the game.
  19. I've got to give you some props for having any confidence in Danny Wright in the first place.
  20. I like Benson, he always kicks the Cubs asses, though he does have a bad arm. On the plus side, it's his free agent year, and he might want to go out and impress to get a big contract. I don't want to give up both pitchers mentioned, however, you haven't heard much from spring training other than Rauch. In regards to Junior Spivey, I would rather have Junior Griffey, but I don't think I want to go into the season with Willie Harris as my starting second basemen, Rowand would be better as a 4th outfielder, and I think Griff would have an outstanding season, coming back to the AL with something to prove. If Cincy would pick up most of the contract as Pittsburgh, and I don't have to give up a major prospect, then I would do both. But again, its not my $$$.
