  1. QUOTE(Felix @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) Its not Ozzie's fault that Jenks had literally nothing today. Just imagine what'll happen around here when we have an actual losing streak.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Right because this year is such a great sample size? Didn't say it was. Just saying that this year, he has faced more right handed batters than left handed batters...and done far worse.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Career BAA... RH: .225 LH: .232 Key word: "this year"
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) OBVIOUSLY Jenks f***ed up, that's completely given. He let 3 cross without getting an out, it doesn't need to be said. Why pull a guy throwing gas that is better against righties than lefties, anyway? Actually, he's been much worse against righties this year. 4.91 ERA against them.
  5. KC lineup: Robinson, CF Grudzielanek, 2B Mientkiewicz, 1B Stairs, DH Brown, LF Guiel, RF Berroa, SS Buck, C German, 3B Yuck! Not exactly Murderers Row there.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) You do know that Rolen is sick, and that Edmonds doesn't play against lefties every day. The only guy who's getting a break is Pujols, and he's played every game this year. Kinda sounds familiar... Dye is hurt, Podsednik and Pierzynski don't play against lefties very often, and Thome has played every game this year.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) I am sure Konerko got the same pitches to hit without Thome in front of him. I am sure as the game progresses with mack providing protection that they will still go after Konerko. In theory, they would be pitching him differently. But Paulie has had some good pitches to hit today, including the one that he actually got a hit off of. Either way, it doesn't make up for the fact that Buehrle has sucked today.
  8. Use the B team excuse all you want, but we are losing because our A teamers have looked like crap today.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Odds of Brian being 0-2 real quick. I'll go against the odds.
  10. I'm amazed Widger's still in. He really got clocked with that bat.
  11. Really looked like Widge was knocked out for a second there.
  12. Players who wear their hat crooked should be banned for life.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) First inning, away, away, away, hit. Seriously, how come every time widger catches, the other team scores 3+ runs? Good game calling or not, Widger did not make Buehrle throw a pitch down the heart of the plate to one of the best hitters in baseball.
  14. You're an idiot if you're blaming Widger for this. Buehrle might as well be lobbing it in there for them.
  15. Mark is throwing batting practice out there. Must be the Sunday lineups fault.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) The crowd in the background of the score sounds like 1000 screaming 10 year olds at the mall. They dont have schools in Cleveland.
  17. Grady Sizemore appears to be a hit with junior high girls.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 2, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) Interesting. That doesn't excite me at all but I assume he's going to replace Boone. Hawk said he'll be getting some work in the minors before he is called up, if he is called up at all. I'm assuming that he'll be up by the end of the month.
  19. I was thinking the exact same thing. Our bullpen savior has arrived!
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Agreed. Its hard to fathom taking out AJ who is hitting the cover off the ball right now. Its pretty standard that the backup catcher plays the day game after a night game. That goes for most teams.
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) I'd rather he rest them tomorrow against Seattle. EDIT: We saw what a crazy travel schedule did to the Angels last October. They beat us in game 1. I'd say the playoffs are a little different. You didn't see Ozzie pumping out these lineups during the postseason. And the Angels didn't necessarily look like a juggernaut that game. We just got shut down by their pitching.
  22. I learned last year not to complain about the Sunday lineup.
  23. Of course, Jimmy did the right thing and took the high road...and let Ozzie do the talking for him. Game Recap You knew Ozzie would say something. By the way, congrats to Ozzie on his 200th win as manager.
