What time are the fights tonight?

QUOTE(Cali @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 05:15 AM) Yeah, thats not happening anytime soon... You gonna come to my side of town for the Sox/Dodgers games? Definitely.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 05:45 PM) He won't? They won 88 games last season, didn't lose much, and added Bedard and Silva to go along with Felix. There is no reason to think Seattle can't go head to head with the Halos. I'd agrue that the Mariners ridiculously over-achieved. They lost Jose Guillen too and Jone's was slated to replace him (if the rumored trade ends up going down). The Angels got better (even if it was by giving up horrid contracts) and have an improved offense as well as one of the deepest pitching staffs I've seen in a long time (they go 7 deep). Plus the Angels flat out know how to win. That said the Mariners did win 88 games and Silva should be very good in that big park, Bedard will be nasty there and King Felix (if healthy) will only be better. That is a damn solid front 3 of the rotation.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) So you're comparing the 25 year old poor defensive 1B rule 5 pick let go by the Pirates to a 23 year old plus defensive corner outfield top prospect? Who, if he wasn't injured at the time of the MLB draft, would have went off the board probably in the top 20 picks too. Quentin is a legit impact player and if he can reach his ceiling the Sox will have an perennial all star on there hands (solid average, above average obp, good power, above average defense). God I'm really excited to see some of these young Sox play, but none so more than Carlos Quentin (a guy I've loved since seeing him play back in his days at Stanford). Note: I'm not saying he will be an all star this year, but he has the tools of an all star.

Longoria is freaking awesome. I've seen him play a s***load at the Beach and he will be yet another top player to come out of LBSU (Crosby/Tulowski/Longoria/Weaver).

I f***ing love the Pads camo's and I'm a fan of the Sox wearing camo's considering its a way of respecting the troops (both current and past).

QUOTE(Cali @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) I used to not like MCR at all, but The Black Parade is a DAMN good album. I listen to it all the time... Whats next, you liking Orange County???

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) I must've deleted that part of my original post accidentally. I know I typed it and now when I saw it quoted I was like this: I thought they were really good live. I like their records (YEAH, I still call them "records", I'm an old f***, leave me alone), but live they really impressed me. I still like Face To Face so much more, but I think MCR are very good. They are excellent live. 30 Seconds to Mars on the other hand, quite possibly the worse live performance I've ever seen.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) I like that 1234 song. And I have to come clean about something. A friend gave me the last My Chemical Romance album - I have no idea what they look like, and I've never seen any of their videos, and they get a lot of s*** from posters I've seen, but this album is great. Good fast catchy songs - what more do you want? It's in major rotation on my ipod. Black Parade was a very enjoyable album.

QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) I wonder if Flogging Molly is enjoyable without drinking beer? Blasphemy. Than again the more I think about, the only times I listen to it are when I'm drinking.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) WHAT? My Mario respect-o-meter just dropped a couple of notches. Don't hate the Breaded Steak. And your respect-o-meter just dropped a couple notches simply for actually having some respect for mario before he knocked ricobenes

Call of Duty is just ridiculous. Such awesome graphics and a total blast.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 01:26 PM) It was so f***ing good. Seriously...that was f***ing amazing. Half the theatre was giving a standing ovation when that scene ended.
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 07:05 PM) Love it. I'm actually starting to get excited about this team, that scares me. So am I. I'm still scared a bit about the top of the order and the back 3 in the rotation but at the same time there are a lot of parts of this club that I really love.
-
QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Iam thinking Ricobenes tonight for dinner?Hmmm Oh god...I can't wait till I move to Chicago. That is some good s***, despit what Scalise says.

The action scene at the end of rambo was quite possibly the greatest action sequence I've ever seen. f***ing amazing.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 07:49 AM) Aardsma, M-Mac, Masset, Haeger, Prinz, Sisco, Myers, and Day posted an ERA of 7.88 in 158 IP of relief. If Dotel gives us 75 IP with a 4.50 ERA, this will be a huge upgrade. I don't disagree, plus I'm figuring between at worse you have MacDougall and Dotel who combined are able to do what a normal reliever could workload wise (assuming one or both of them have a stint on the DL) all while posting a good ERA. Mac/Dotel/Jenks all have filthy stuff, Linebrink is steady eddy, Wasserman is steady eady with a different look and than Thornton/Logan both are solid lefties. God damn, I like that pen if it works out and financially it isn't horrible, plus if you think about it, when JEnks is due a fat contract you lose a couple other contracts off your books in the pen. The Sox now have Aardsma, MMac, Sisco, Haeger who all could be valuable to some team or another. I'm not saying they will be good, but if I'm the Drays or some crap team why not buy these guys for cheap and see if a full season turns them into something.
-
I'm concerned about one major thing, his injury riddled history. He has a great arm though and when healthy I love having it in the pen, but I question the total sense of this deal. The pen, on paper, is clearly massivly improved but I still question with the Sox having so much of this money tied up to guys that may not even have a roster/starters spot (ie, Uribe/Crede/Contreras (who sucks in my book until he proves otherwise). Definitely didn't see the Sox adding another starter.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) You're the first guy I know that complains about being sexually harassed. If you've seen him, you'd know why.

Shelby will be the Sox top prospect by next year. Well, with the exception of whomever the heck they bring in between now and than. But out of the current crop, pending Poreda developing better secondary stuff I'd say Shelby is the guy with the most upside in the system (obviously the young SS and one or two other guys in the system could potentially compete with him in that regard). He's a good athlete who should project out as a solid CFer and offensively I love his tools.

I just want to say...thank you Iowa...for beating a top 10 team. It is going to be a long, ugly season, but Lickliter is getting the most out of these guys and they continue to get better, especially on the defensive side. It was also nice getting Freeman back because it gives Iowa one other offensive weapon (Justin Johnson being the other). -
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) Bears arent going to be able to afford J Jones and Benson. Plus I dont see why he would even consider the bears after how they treated his brother. Benson will be the starter and he will have to beat out Wolfe. They spent a 3rd rounder on him, so i doubt they are going to draft another first day half back this year. Actually they would. Benson's contract had numerous escalator clauses that were built on incentives that he hasn't reached and because of that they could easily bring in another back that would cost 2-4 million on the cap.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Eh I did forget about nash.... That being said this year I think Chris Paul has been better and deserves the allstar game more. Nash 2nd than Baron. I can buy the Chris Paul being a better individual player than Nash but I can't underestimate all that Nash has done for the Suns. He just makes everyone around him great and I know Paul makes his surrounding players better but I don't think he does it quite to the level that Nash does (not yet at least).
-
Rex kicks the s*** out of all those options you are discussing. If the Bears don't bring Rex back, it better be because they got some steal in the 2nd round (ie Brohm falling to that pick) or because they were able to get McNabb for a 3rd or 4th rounder (and got him to restructure the contract to make it more cap friendly). Otherwise I don't see any good, semi realistic scenarios in which this team is better off letting Rex walk.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) I think Chris Paul deserves to be an all star over all of them. My list would probably be 1. Chris Paul 2. Baron Davis 3. Deron Williams 4. Tony Parker. As far as Steven Jackson, I think he is a very important part of the Warriors but I dont think he is an all star. Is everyone forgetting about Steve Nash. He just has a few MVP's and is still pretty damn awesome. I'd probably put Nash (Paul is a very close 2nd and will soon pass Nash), Deron, Parker, Davis (I knock Davis a bit more than most due to his injuries and I will admit when healthy he is a better player than Parker). By the way, welcome to Soxtalk
