I think they will spend - just not day 1. Poles literally said he likes B/C and that means waiting for the market to set itself and than trusting your scouting of those remaining targets. With that said - Browns cut a vet center who could be a nice fit and obviously Armstead is still out there (he's real good - but can Bears actually keep him healthy). JuJu is still out there - who I would love, especially if you could get him on the shorter term (i.e., 3 year dealing). Myles Jack is also interesting - pair him next to Roquan and presume you probably can get him for a reasonable price (given he's cut as teams cap spaced is already dissapearing).

James Daniels went for 3YR 8M per with Steelers. Reasonable price but I presume Poles is setting the bar that I'm not going to just run the same guys or something close to the same out there and/or must have had a different view of Daniels. Chark signing for a reasonable 1YR deal with Lions is interesting. I am presuming Bears are going to sit around and see who they can get on shorter-term deals while they obviously target the draft. I am curious who the Bears are in-on / what we will see happen here. I have a feeling we'll see a ton of moves from Bears, especially as we pivot into next week.

Ok - That isn't actually as bad as I thought, because a bunch of money was spent today so available cap space is shrinking so maybe they can get someone for not as bad as I though (knowing they to also address in draft).

So are Juju, Valdez, Landry and Arob the main wideouts still out there at this point? Am I missing anyone? Is Armstead the main olineman out there (some rumors bears are in on him)?

Golladay was awful with Giants last year (injured), but if Giants structured it right, I would have interest in acquiring him if I were Bears (and i presume Giants have good reasons to move away now). He's from Chicago.

Its what the Jaguars do. They have the cap space though and I can't argue with how they have focused things around building around their young QB. Kirk was too much money but given where they were, I don't know what else I would have done (other than acquire Cooper...i mean who didn't see this coming).

4th highest paid wideout in the league I believe. Crazy money. Sounds like Robinson might be headed to Chiefs on a 3yr deal. I liked Kirk a lot - but not $18M a year good. That said - they need a wideout. Landry to me (if you can get him for less guarantee / less years) isn't such a bad play. Curious to see what Bears do here.

Yeah - I was bummed when I saw a bunch of guards / Rams tackle sign right before free agency. I thought Bears were going to be able to make some big splashes there. I also wanted Cooper (cause I figured a 6th rounder would have been worth it to lock him in on a very LT flexible/cap friendly deal that keeps you out of the bidding wars of FA). I don't think Cooper is worth his contract (from a pure $ perspective) but relative to what you'd pay in free agency and given fact I would prioritize this whole off-season around Fields...it would have just made everything else easier.

Yeah - I have started to come around on this. Reality was if they didn't address in FA, they would have to address in draft and relatively early so this frees up resources to better target best available within draft. And 3 years is nice, not too long, and therefor doesn't do a lot for long-term flexibility. Would like if they structured this to be creative and take biggest burden a year from now when they have MASSIVE cap space so that they can be more opportunistic this year and in '24 (knowing they will have more than enough in '23 regardless).

A total head scratcher from me. I have to read more but I don't like where they are spending the money (not necessarily knocking the player). I also was less excited after I saw some good oline options sign pretty quickly. That said - if I frame it another way - this is kind of them replacing Goldman with someone they find as a much better fit in a key role for the defense.

Legal tampering window is now open. By the way - I think Bears now have 4th or 5th most cap space of all NFL teams.

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
Yep - Pods issue was his arm - not the range and his ability to make plays in left. Same with Pierre - arm was weak but rest of him was above average defensively in left.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I don’t like TLR as a manager but I do think he is the one person who will get JR to empty his wallet.

Seriously - big time. Was so nice to have him back out there.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I think they are going to spend the money. Maybe not up to luxury tax as I presume they want some wiggle room but TLR has JR ear and he wants to win it all one more time.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Sox are asking a lot for Kimbrel. They want to move him but don’t expect them to just give him away ((based upon what I heard they were asking). With that said - will be interesting if they don’t get what they want what they will do cause I think we will see Kimbrel move closely followed/aligned with a sizeable free agent signing.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
The player I was referring to who the club was interested but couldn’t agree on was Kimbrel. Sox and the other team had pretty big difference in value (the Kimbrel bit was when I talked to him in person this morning…but I won’t / can’t mention other team… But the recent post I made with the on fire quote was from a text chain I have going on with him (so is fresh).

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I didn’t say anything was done - he just said they are reportedly close on a few things but wouldn’t tell me who (but he did say they are one of most active teams in MLB right now). Might be because it has to do with his club (if it did that would be great but last I heard his club and Sox didn’t align on asking price for one of Sox players).

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
So I just got a text from a buddy of mine who is very connected (to MLB not necessarily Sox). Said Sox are on fire right now and close on a couple sizeable moves.

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
Yep - he may not be the upside you want from a guy picked that high - but dude can hit and for a high average. But Jack thinks he’s garbage…smh.

White Sox Sign RP Joe Kelly (2yrs with a club option; $17m)
Does it matter at this point? Presume MLB is going way of other leagues and things are just going to be more open? Side note - I don’t love all the money they spend on the pen, but Kelly is a good reliever and has tons of experience on good ball clubs. I also presume LaRussa is going to get JR to spend so I am more confident now they make one big signing.

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
I am just saying - if you could get something real good maybe it isn’t a bad thing In terms of this year. Don’t think Sox will do it and I love Hendricks.

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
As long as they spend / make some good moves between now and start of season it doesn’t matter but if they go cheap - than they really have managed some of these moves really bad. Like 5.5 for Harrison is just not a good use of money for a team that plays things tight. I would rather use Burger and spend that extra money to get Bryant (and whatever scrub contract they will keep giving over the life of that Bryant deal).

Wrong. Madrigal is good.
