  1. Why is Cintron playing the rest of the weekend?
  2. QUOTE(Shadows @ May 3, 2007 -> 12:16 AM) Ide still hit it either way I wub Ashley. Definitely one of my favorite female celebrities.
  3. One thing for certain the guy has a power arm and thats always a major plus coming out of the pen.
  4. 24 and 6ft
  5. I'm 99% sure the sports bar you are talking about is National Sports Bar. Is the parking lot you are referring to the one right next to the stadium (its behind this factory and you can than walk into the stadium parking lot directly from there??). 15 seems steap though cause Its 10 bucks in th stadium and you can grill (gas) and drink. Actually after looking at that map that is the lot I'm talking about and I should point out its 8 bucks to park there (back in the day it was 5, but they've raised the prices a couple times and its a great lot to park in). I'll definitely try to swing by on Saturday and say hey.
  6. Nah...I just realized Greg Walker has forgotten to set the alarm so I did it for him and the bats will finally be awaken and come out of there slumber
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 1, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) This sucks, KW needs to step up here. Ben Broussard is another interesting name. I know he's not playing much on the Mariners but he can play the corner OF positions and at one time was a pretty solid player for the Tribe. I don't follow the Mariners much but I wouldn't think it would cost too much to get him considering he doesn't play a ton anymore (and again, I realize this is a lefty bat and most would prefer the club acquire a righty but I just think this is the type of guy that could be picked up and maybe get hot and be pretty solid).
  8. Ya, I think I'm the odd man out this week. As always thanks for the feedback. I'm also working on getting an email address set up for listeners to start sending us questions throughout the week that we'll answer. And Dan I just want to say...fantastic job, I definitely look forward getting you on for some more shows and segments throughout the season. Although I may surprise Scalise and whoever the 2nd is (maybe Ernst) and do a call in from the Sox/Angels game.
  9. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ May 1, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) You may think I'm overreacting, but I'm not. You have 3 VERY good competitive clubs in front of you. If we continue to hit like we are this week, we are in a deep hole with only two weeks into May. I'm not saying it's going to happen, I'm saying it COULD happen. I'd rather not take that chance. I'll take things because this team has played better than pretty much every one of those teams ahead of them aside from the Indians. I also know the offense will get better and when it does this team will be sick, especially with the rotation/pen. I am more confident in this team than I was last years team.
  10. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ May 1, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) At this point in time we've been patient enough. Let's face it, we're not in a division where we can sit back and relax. We are in a highly competitive division, and if we continue to hit like we are...we are going to be 6+ games out within the next couple of weeks. It's time for a change, otherwise we're going to have to end up playing .800 ball for three months to make the post-season. ( A la Minnesota Twins) Wow...the team is only 3 games out and the pitching has been fantastic. This team would be running away with things if the offense was performing so I think you are greatly over-reacting as far as the whole .800 ball. That said I want the offense to pick up because it can get really frustrating for the pitchers (and you could see them blow up eventually) if they always have to throw shutouts to win.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) I have a bad feeling the Warriors might sandbag tonight and put all their energy into winning this thing in Oakland in game 6. I know that crowd is great and they play well out there, but I hope that isn't how they go into tonight. I have a bad feeling it will be though. Are you kidding me...teams would be assinine to do that. THe Mavs are an excellent team and the series isn't over so if they are dumb enough to give up a game so the home fans can watch, than I hope they freaking lose by 40 each of the next 3 games. Note: I don't think any team would ever do this (maybe a player waiting to get his 3000th hit at home, that I could maybe buy, especially if his team is out at the time) but you play to win in the playoffs (in fact I'm of the belief that you always play to win).
  12. I'll say this, the guys look absolutely horrid. I don't think Walker is a bad hitting coach, but I've also noticed in baseball that sometimes hitters just need a change every few years because for whatever reason the coach just stops having that positive effect on them (maybe the hitters start ignoring him or the hitting coach gets comfortable and isn't able to think as creatively when it comes to fixing guys problems because he's gotten so familiar that he always thinks a certain thing will fix it). So I wouldn't be opposed to it. I'm also hoping the Bats pull out of this because I do think Walker is one of the better hitting coaches in the league. However, like I said, maybe these guys need to hear a new voice.
  13. I don't like the fact that Terrero is our best answer, however, I prefer him on the major league roster than BA. Anderson needs ab's and he wasn't at all contributing our helping the major league team. While I don't think Terrero is going to be much help either, he is at least able to play all 3 outfield positions and contribute a bit with the bat (like it or not terrero is a better hitter, albeit he's not what I'd call a good player and I do believe he's one of the worse players on any active major league roster). This is a major plus because Terrero is better than BA at this point (sorry but its true) but more importantly this will finally let BA get a s***load of ab's so he can work on correcting his flaws and get things figured back out (so we can trade him with some trade value or bring him up later on this year). Plus I think this move means that Terrero will play against some LHP's but for the most part we will see a lot of Ryan Sweeney and I think thats a good thing because when Thome comes back we may see Sweeney stay up and play a lot for Pods (in fact, I wouldn't be shocked if by seasons end Sweeney was 3rd in AB's on the Sox when it came to outfielders).
  14. Just make sure you ask a general question to each of them where they quickly discuss there arsenal of pitches.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 1, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) No, but it's apparently his fault Jason will not finish thte Top 25. Preach on. Nah, you can blame my computer for taking a complete s*** this weekend. I'm still trying to restore a lot of the s*** it lost (including the top 25, but don't worry, I have backups...just got to restore them). I have no idea how it happened either because I wasn't even home when it happened (I think my mom did something to it). As far as BA goes I'm not going to comment. I don't think he isn't going to report, that would be a real poor move by him considering it wasn't that long ago the organization went out of its way to give him AB's and an opportunity and Ozzie has said all the right things since BA's demotion (about BA just needing consistent ab's so he can become the player the org thinks he's capable of). I really think this is best for Brian Anderson and if he goes down there, works hard and makes adjustments and gets some confidence he'll be able to come up and in a couple years people may forget all about the start of his career (obviously there are a lot of if's in there, but he's capable, I don't doubt that, its just a matter of him getting more mature and realizing the massive amount of work he has in front of him and that it won't get easier, no matter what he'll have to always work very very hard).
  16. If somehow I don't have to work and I can find a reasonable last minute flight than me, but the odds are against it (cause I'm supposed to be working than).
  17. If you go after someone, you go after an outfielder that could play a couple positions that way he fits in with Thome out as well as once he gets back.
  18. I may have a couple open tickets for those that mentioned they are looking. I'll know for sure early next week.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Garrett Wolfe is the same player that Fred Russell was a few years ago. God did I love watching Russel play in college but I think your right. I hope your wrong and Wolfe has a good career but I'd have much preferred Bush or Pittman.
  20. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Neither can Cintron, but here we are. Are you kidding me...Cintron has a terrible eye but he's hit for a good average most of his career and he's also been one of the best pinch hitters in baseball the past couple years. No, Cintron isn't a starter but he is a very good bench player.
  21. Well heads, the Bears now have an ISU guy. My Hawks helped lead the Colts to a superbowl so maybe your Clone can help lead my Bears to a superbowl.
  22. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) I agree Anderson needs to be in AAA and then to leave the organization, but he did have a good spring training under a decent amount of pressure. So, I don't it's accurate to say doesn't deserve to be on any major league roster this season. Floerida could use him right now. I meant to say at this point in the season (ie he shouldn't have been on the major league roster at all so far this year, but I'm not going into the future). I just felt he doesn't have the swing to succeed at the ML level and he shouldn't get enough ab's to develop that swing at the ML level (because quite frankly he has a long ways to go) so he should have just been down in Charlotte from the start.
  23. s***.
  24. QUOTE(joeynach @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Just saw something on Post Game Live on CSN about it. Ozzie saying hes going to AAA. Did this happen earlier in the day or just now. And if he gets send down does that free a spot on the 25 man roster. Sweeney is already in for Thome and Logan for Pods so who else is coming up, Terrero? If so does this mean we roll out the clown car again for fill ins in the lineup with a different character playing Left or DH everyday. Makes sense. I said it before and I'll say it again, I expect Sweeney to get a lot of Ab's and I wouldn't be shocked if he earned a boatload of at bats for the remainder of the season (and if he doesn't, he'll go back down to AAA). Sweeney is the future outfielder in this org, not BA. Good luck down in AAA BA, maybe you can figure things out because you really don't deserve to have been on a major league roster at all this season. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) There's a struggle going on between KW and Ozzie. He could start for the Marlins right now. The fact is that Brian Anderson couldn't out hit a lot of pitchers right now. Broadway leaving early is bad news because the Sox aren't about to call up another pitcher. However, a trade could be in the works (now that is a possibility as I know they have been trying to work out a trade as of late but I'm not sure just how realistic it is since most teams aren't quite ready to give guys up).
  25. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) Maybe DJ knows something. I bet Sweeney would be a good DH for a few weeks for us before he makes his annual trip to the DL. It is true. Actually a guy I wouldn't mind having is Jacque Jones of the Cubs. I know he's not a star but he's a very good role player who can play all 3 outfield positions (albeit he's a lefty bat which I know doesn't help the Sox issues against LHP) but I've always been a fan. That said the Cubs aren't going to give up that soon. However, I think Jones is a guy who not only makes the team stronger while Thome is out, but would make them strong once he gets back as well. Plus it means Anderson can be down in AAA and Erstad/Pods would get more rest with Jones getting a ton of Ab's (as well as spelling Dye out there).
