QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) If we can sign Walker? HELL YEAH! The Red Sox wouldn't go for that, though. Red Sox would be dump not to make that trade. Coco had a poor year from them last year. That said I wouldn't mind picking up Coco...but only if the Sox are able to get someone good to replace Neal. What if we signed Clemens to a one year deal...dealt Garcia for prospects...dealt Buehrle for Michael Young. Clemens enters the rotation along with Bmac, we get Young...and we get some good prospects for Garcia. Or say Jason Schmidt's agent calls and says he will take a 3yr 30-36 mill deal with the Sox. At that moment we have 2 good offers for Buehrle/Garcia and could swing them to other teams for prospects and Michael Young and than have a starter like Schmidt signed for a couple more seasons (since Buehrle/Garcia are potentially gone). We clear some salary...add a front line starter to replace one of the one's we lose...add a bat like Young...add prospects.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Clemens or not, I don't think we'll come as close to 3M in 07 as we did this year. I expect a bit of a dip. You'll be wrong. Just like everyone laughed at me when i said we'd get 2.8 (than right around opening day people started believing my prediction)...than they blew past it.

Wow...LT is amazing. Threw the guy off him on the facemask to get a TD...than they get a sack and recover a fumble on the first offensive play following the kickoff and LT bursts in for another one. 4 Td's for LT and he's 2 away from being the fastest to 100.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) not me.... hes gonna cost 15+ million, will probably only make 25-ish starts, only go 5-6 per start....yeah, hell draw attendance, but i dont think in the end its worth it for the kind of money the sox will have to pay Umm....one of the best pitchers in baseball when he's on the mound. Ya, I'm all over that. Plus its just a one year deal and financially there are so many rewards to signing him (all the national exposure....the jersey sales...would help make it almost a lock for 3 million in attendance, barring a complete collapse by the Sox). The rotation needs help, if you could move someone like Garcia or Buehrle (who are likely gone in a year) and than sign someone like Clemens to 1 year (yes for more money but its just a year) all while getting two top prosspects (in Buehrle's case I say three) that can help position you for the future. Basically the way I see it you replace the guy you trade all while getting a couple top prospects that will help ya a year down the road. Not that I think Clemens will come...although we could have had him instead of Navarro.

YESSS....TD Chargers and its now 28-21, Bengals may blow this one afterall. Oh and the Titans were whooping the Ravens last I saw.

I'd be giddy if we got Clemens for a year. I love Roger and he would guarantee sellouts every 5 games.

So, Wisconsin should have lost. If Iowa had any WR's we'd probably be a 2 loss team (only losses to OSU and Michigan). We played hard yet lost. Definately a tough season but they got some legit talent coming in but wow it sucked we couldn't have given Tate some play-makers during his senior year. Wiscy's QB who played for Stocco looked damn good cause without him you guys get demolished (since they had zero rushing game). -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) Gage never went to Riverside, but I'm sure he knows they suck, and hard. Next up, Louisiana Monroe, the FIGHTIN Warhawks. Duh...Fullerton's basketball team is better than Riversides...therefore....Fullerton > ISU Hawkeyes destroyed Buena Vista in there final preseason game. -
Ya...Borat was freaking brilliant.

The man can flat rake. Sure they gave up a good pitching prospect but last I looked the Tigers have a ton of those and needed that middle of the order bat. They got exactly that in Sheff. He may whine and complain from time to time but when on the field he always produces at an All Star level. Plus he didn't really have any problems in Florida en route to winning the world series with Leyland/Dombrowski. This seems like one of those win/win trades.

Jermaine Dye and Joe Crede win Silver Sluggers

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) I could just seem them doing a presentation before Game 1 of Opening Day. I could be wrong. They did that with Vladdy in Anaheim (also they do the same with gold gloves) so yeah there will be some sort of ceremony. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) I've always been of the belief awards should go to the most deserving candidate. Obvious enough, but often people are blinded by homerism and insist their team's players should receive everything. However, this is just sweet justice. Even though Rodriguez did hold an advantage to Crede in about every offensive category. For the fact it's Alex Rodriguez I'm less inclined to care. One less award on his mantle. Now, watch Crede's win set off a storm of controversy. No one does this to a Yankee. Restructuring of the entire damn system may occur. Boras is gonna be pretty excited over this award. -
QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) i'm looking forward to the jim-dwight moments more than i am the jim-pam moments. The Jim Dwight moments are absolutely amazing. Of course Jim/Pam moments usually involved Dwight so those were great too.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 09:03 AM) J.D. Drew is an absolute moron. The whole idea of opting out of your contract early is that you'll get more money if you do so, not less. He's going to wind up in the Jeff Weaver role of last season...taking a 1 year deal somewhere because no one will give him the big contract he and Boras want. Unless he was just really, really, really unhappy with the Dodgers, which is always possible I guess. I think he figures things like this. If I opt out now, I can get myself another 5 year deal....setting me up till I'm 35, probably at similar money. If I wait three more years, I will be 33 and now teams may be reluctant to give me anything more than 2 or 3 years and who knows what I'll get at that point. If he opts out now and gets a 5yr 55-60 mill deal it will all be worth it. When he's healthy he's easily worth 11-12 mill a year and it seems like his latest leg operation got him past most of his injury issues. Funny thing is if I knew he'd be healthy I'd deal Thome and stick Drew in the lineup for a long long time (because he's a superior all around player and fits into Ozzie's mold, plus with him and Dye between LF/RF) we'd have a pretty damn impressive offense. That said it would never happen and since there is no guarantee of his health there is no way I'd give him that type of deal, but someone will. He'd be a pretty awesome 2 hole guy (or 3 hole).

QUOTE(R.Sweeney @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) I dont know what to think either .Thats great if he doesnt need surgery but he didnt need it in the 05-06 offseason and he ended up with problems . Luckily the Sox have Herm Schneider to keep an eye on it. Lets remember he played through this problems on route to a career season.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) I just hope people read the article before they post in this thread. Because the rehab work Crede's going to be putting in sounds just as good, if not better than going through with the surgery. Ya, it sounds fine to me. As long as he does the work good deal. It was also interesting to hear the treatments/programs he has planned for other guys. I wonder what Garcia's program is (don't smoke as much victory weed).

Cool article. Wish Joe the best in his rehab program.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Ah, the ol' Uniter not Divider comes back. Yup, there's a way to create amity between the White House and its new working partners...ram through 2 nominations, one possibly controversial and one ungodly controversial, before the new working partners have a chance. Good to know that the Presidential "Middle Finger" still works quite well...because that's what this is to the Democrats. Especially the re-nomination of Bolton. I just want to point out that Bolton is not going to get another hearing. Of course if it were up to my party he probably would have, but Chaffey (a moderate repub) is completely against the Bolton hearing and because of that they will not have it. I'll take the direct words from Bill Frist over the NY Times. Oh and this is my first post over in these parts.

QUOTE(joeynach @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) You do realize that even for his age, 34 i think, his MLB service time is rather low. I think he broke in in 1999 which means hes played for 8 years in the league. Compare that to someone like Dye who is 32 but he will be going into his 11th year of service, he broke in in 1996. The points is hes older year but hes not as much as an aging veteran as you think, in reference to years played. He's still playing all those other years in the minors. And you get wear and tear there just as much as you do at the major league level.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) The 2nd option is a hell of a lot more likely than the first, at least based on the last few years. Your right and I wouldn't be shocked to see him help the repub's from time to time. Although he will not change to being a republican. He gave his state his word that he wouldn't and Joe isn't going to go back on his word.
