  1. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) then he says he was a great athlete, not saying anything about his baseball game The dude suggested he could play RF. RF
  2. QUOTE(atrain081 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) i may not like juan all the time, but it's hard to argue that the guy's got a cannon He turned a DP a lot of guys don't turn there.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) You know how I know you're gay, cuz you love Ross Gload.
  4. TIE GAME. NOW BUEHRLE...MAN UP
  5. Uribe had a nice double. Now come on BA
  6. Wait, did Ozzie just say something to Juan?
  7. Buehrle is really struggling. But he's not throwing near as bad as the past two games scores would indicate. Lets score some runs for Mark. For a few years this guy has been our ace and its time the offense picked him up and gets him back (of course they've done it a ton with Mark just giving the lead right back) but lets do it again and this time Marky Mark will hold the Tigers down.
  8. One mistake and its 2-0. Wish we turn that DP. Doesn't show in the scorecard, but that hustle mixed with a slow give to Iguchi by Uribe gives them this. Come on Sox, please pick Mark up.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) I wonder how much confidence he has right now? None...Ozzie does a great job tearing players apart.
  10. Last year we turn that. We were so good at helping our pitchers out with the DP, this year, not near as good (got no stat to back it up, just going off my eyes).
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) I agree with that, but it's still the pitching's fault above anything. No doubt. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) You have Kenny Rogers pitching. He's a freaking cat on the mound. Nah..he's a tiger
  12. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) Dumb idea, but what about Gload in LF batting lead-off? I suggested it once, but thats cause I love Ross Gload. One of my favorite hitters in baseball (and I'm being serious when I say that).
  13. Guys, Thome had the best AB of the game though, so hopefully Mark can make it a quick inning and get Paulie up and we can start working Rogers a bit more and having quality AB's and getting things done. However, to answer some of your questions...Rogers is the type of guy you should get early when he's throwing strikes because if he gets ahead of you, his breaking stuff is rarely in the zone, but guys will be chasing it. So if you get an early FB, go for it. Problem is he's locating exceptionally today and doing a great job mixing his stuff up. We'll just have to hope Mark matches Rogers and than some and that our offense can figure things out eventually.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:15 AM) Dayn, you douche. We are not in second due to lack of Rowand in the outfield. Technically speaking, we have a few more wins if Aaron is playing everyday. Simply because it means we don't have Mack in center but a handful of times.
  15. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) That last pitch by Rogers to Scotty was sick. Ya, that high FB to set things up was really nice too. Guchi likes ending no no's.
  16. Thankfully Pinella isn't managing cause we would have Pods in RF.
  17. Guys, Rogers has a NO HITTER GOING.
  18. Yanks are freaking rocking the Angels. Put up 5 runs in the inning to take a 5-1 lead.
  19. Back to back great moves
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:52 AM) I've been saying for a long time that the writing appears to be on the wall and that I think we'll make a push for a Jimmy Rollins type to replace Uribe and be our new leadoff hitter.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:28 AM) Absolutely. JD's been everything we could have asked for, and more. Best of all, he's all class. It was a fantastic move and JD will always get cheered by me for what he's done in a Sox uni. I hope we can get a few more good years out of him with him eventually moving to LF. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) Dye is having a career year where I think Maggs is past his prime. He is still good, but his dominating days are gone IMO. Maggs is one of those guys I would want up in a clutch situation. He's a very good all around hitter, a solid defensive player and he's 100% healthy. He's got plenty of above average years left, imo. However, thus far this year, Dye is on another league than pretty much any other RFer in baseball. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) I hope your kidding.... I love his arm in the OF and the balls that are in his zone he tends to always make the play but he has such a small range in the OF and he seems soo slow when he is out there too. I'm 100% convinced that he is one of those guys that looks slow, yet has just fine range. For example, you watch Vladdy run and he looks ridiculously slow, but the gigantic strides he takes makes him actually fast. I'm not talking about Vlad's defense though, cause I'd be the first to say he's as bad of a RFer as anyone in baseball. I think JD is a little above average defensively.
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Preach on. Aside from Brandon Allen and Vernon Carter he has more power potential than anyone in the system.
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) And the Colts fan says Peyton Manning is the best QB in the league. And the Bears fan says that he's the biggest piece of garbage in the league

    QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) Not true Jason. The more avaliable credit you have CAN harm you. It's seen as an opportunity that at any time you can run yourself into the ground in debt. Best bet (unstated rule I have heard from several in the mortage business) is to NOT have avaliable (unused) credit of more than 20% your yearly income. Nah, its a double edge sword and its better to have the credit untied as opposed to tied. An more importantly its better to have those few things on your credit report than to not have it. I know my score is damn near perfect and one of the biggest reasons is I constantly pay off my cards. I'm not saying you should never use your cards, on the contrary, but the key is to always pay off your balance (if you can) and you'll have the best possible credit rating. It keeps your balance down, yet at the same time you'll have some sort of balance anytime the credit report looks because you are using it.
  25. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) When you're back 8.5 games in the division, I would say series against the more immediate threats to our playoff spot are bigger (Twins, Red Sox, Yankees). Twins coming into town next weekend will be a much bigger series. I still say you go for the division. We have too many games left against the Tigers to call it quits. Not to mention, if we can go after the Tigers its just one team we have to pass as opposed to having to compete with numerous teams in the wild card race. You always go for the division first and until we are completely out of that race, the biggest games are those against the team or teams that are ahead of you. In that case that would be the Tigers. With a series win (or even better a sweep) and we find ourselves in a great position.
