  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) Is that good enough for you Freddy? What are we nuts here Willie. We need some more runs.
  2. Freddy is up to the 89-90 MPH range now.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) My ideal off-season would be picking up Dye's option than trading him and either Vaz/Garcia whichevr the Astro's want for Oswalt and maybe a bench player or minor leaguer or something. Resign Riske assuming he doesnt tank the rest of this season. Sign Gary Mathews Jr or Mark Derosa... both having great years for Texas.. preferably Mathews. Than trade either Vaz/Garcia whichevr wasnt involved in the Oswalt trade plus Uribe and a prospect for Jimmy Rollins SP:Mark Buehrle SP:Roy Oswalt SP:Jose Contreras SP:Jon Garland SP:Brandon McCarthy bullpen: Bobby Jenks, Matt Thornton, Mike MacDougal, David Riske, Neal Cotts, ??? Lineup: SS: Jimmy Rollins RF: Mark Derosa/Gary mathews DH: Jim Thome 1B: Paul Konerko 3B: Joe Crede C: AJ Pieryznski 2B: Tadahito Iguchi LF: Josh Fields CF: Brian Anderson It probably isnt all that realistic but its what my ideal off-season would consist of. If Derosa and Mathews jr. prove not to be near as good as they are with the bat this season just switch them with Iguchi. But I think both will be pretty good maybe not as great as they have been this season. I'd have absolutely no problems with that.
  4. Alex Cintron hits it to Shealy who than turns a DP. We failed to get in Crede with
  5. Crede gets to 3rd on a Gload single off of Shealy's glove.
  6. Jermaine Dye is destroying the ball...dead center, Sox lead 2-1
  7. Everything Freddy is throwing has some good movement.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) Si senor. What he say?
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) His stuff is pretty nasty. I usually don't give pitchers credit, but I'm very impressed. Ya, if he keeps locating we'll need Freddy to limit the Royals and for the Sox to scrap out any sort of run(s) they can get. That or just hope they can get Hudson out early due to the pitch count and get to the Royals pen.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Hawk loves Lump. As in Lumsden?
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) Gload is faster getting down the first base line now, as he hustles his ass off. Well in general Gload is a very good base runner and a pretty heads up player. He's so consistent that i have no doubt that he could hit .300 or near .300 as an everyday player. He lacks pop but I also think he could hit 15 Hr's. Problem is he's always stuck on the wrong teams (behind so many good 1st baseman whether it was in Colorado, the Northside or here). QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) I've been calling for Mack to lead off for a while now. A long time. The one flaw I'd have with Mack is I don't think he does a good enough job working the count. But Mack would be a major upgrade defensively and like Gload, Mack is an above average baserunner who does the little things.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) I absolutely agree. Gload is bad on defense, but it's almost impossible to be worse than Pods out there. I actually think people are overly harsh on Gload's defense. He was pretty solid in the OF on ocassions in Charlotte when I saw him play and I think in his case you give him some consistent time out there and he'll be far better than Pods and is already no worse than Pods (yes, Pods really is that bad). Plus Gload has a great approach at the plate and since Scotty can't steal bases, Gload really isn't much of a downgrade in terms of speed.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Ok...could have been worse. Maybe that inning will be a positive...and lead to more Mackowiak in LF. I think Mack and Gload should just start and leadoff. I'm not kidding either.
  14. Really Freddy has pitched good thus far, but we give up a run thanks to a bleed single (on second look it probably wasn't Freddy's fault, it just found the right place) and than our piece of spiff left fielder made yet another blunder that cost us a run and made Freddy throw XTRA pitches.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) I'd be thrilled if our SP and LF were on a different team next season. It's too guys that have seen their physical skills deteriorate way too soon in their career.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) wow, hawk with a comment about freddy right there. What he say? I got teh Royals announcers.
  17. spiff. Freddy dogged it to 1st and thats an infield single. UGLY, should be two outs.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Apparently, you've never watched Pablo out there. I have no doubt that if Pablo consistently played LF that he would be lightyears better than POds. Pods is freaking terrible. Adam Dunn is the only guy worse.
  19. Couple of hard hit balls in the inning, but just a walk and 3 outs to show for it.
  20. Gload has pretty decent speed. I'm not opposed to him running, especially since Hudson doesn't look all that quick to home.
  21. I love Ross...he works the count well, fouls off a bunch of pitches and draws the walk.
