  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) We caught a break in that the last ball did not leave the ballpark. Technically we didn't catch a break though, a break would be a bad call or an error or something of that nature, that was just a hard hit shot and I would have been shocked if it left the building. Had it stayed ruled a HR than it would have been a break for the Tigers.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) We didn't use McCarthy yesterday, so I think the best we can hope for is to get 1 more inning from Freddy and somehow still have the lead, then have McCarthy take care of the 6th and 7th, and maybe part of the 8th. That I wouldn't have as much of a problem with, but you can't go in the 4th inning, thats way too early.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) I think winning today is more important than having a fresh bullpen for tomorrow. We could use McCarthy and Cotts in long relief today. No, winning today will be harder if we turned things to the pen NOW. We don't have a guy that can just go out and throw 3 or 4 innings since Ozzie doesn't seem to use Bmac in that way and well thats life, we can't just magically change things. It would be absolutely assinine to go to the pen right now, after using it yesterday. We can't just destroy our pen consistently using 4 or 5 guys a game. IN the post-season you can chance that cause of the off-days, you can't do it when you have the stretch of consecutive games that this team has right now.
  4. QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) we've got KC next, sure we can. KC has one of the best offenses in baseball over the past 6 weeks (if not the best).
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) Ozzie...please get someone up in the pen. Your family member is the worst pitcher on the entire roster. No, do not use the pen now. That would be dumb, we can't win games throwing our pen in the 4th inning. We just used the pen yesterday so you can't just sit out and throw a 4 inning game with the pen in the regular season on any consistent basis if you watn to play winning baseball. Freddy is gonna suck but we need him to throw a few more innings.
  6. We just have to hope the other 4 guys stand up and carry this team cause Freddy is long gone at the end of the season. Hawk and DJ are trashing him every start, you have the Sox trying to move him last year, its just a matter of time.
  7. What the heck are tehy calling? Oh its a double. A little better I guess, still two straight rockets.
  8. Freddy is bad. We just have to hope our other starters can develop into a 1-4 combo with Freddy being the 5 that we just hope keeps us in a game. He's so terrible without his velocity. Luckily they only have 2 runs to show thus far, but thats not really that impressive considering thats in 3 innings of work and he just gave up a leadoff double.
  9. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) Liriano Pitch Count for first 10 starts: 68 - MIL 83 - SEA 105 - LAA 91 - SEA 98 - BAL 101 - PIT 97 - HOU 86 - LAD 103 - MIL 95 - TEX So you are talking about stretching him out with 105 pitches in his third start? I would've assumed that he would've stayed around 80 pitches for the first couple, then 90 for a few more. 105 pitches in his 3rd start out of the pen seems pretty quick. If there was a pitch limit it must have been around 105 then. He had a no no going in that game against the Angels, I think thats why they went a little longer with him (I was at the game and he was pitching lights out).
  10. I know one thing...I'd rather be going head to head for the division than the wild card, cause we may have that as a fall back plan. Not to mention we have a bit more control over the division (since we still have a few more games vs the Tigers) than we would in the wild card race.
  11. Astros or Dbacks
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) This is kind of ironic to me and I'll let you guys figure out why. Its cause if you watch baseball and ignore the ludicrious OPS stat (which I Think is a good stat by the way, but not an end all be all) you'd realize he's a pretty one dimensional player and is ridiuclously overhyped by any statitician.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Calling Jeter overrated is ignorant. He has 4 rings and he's posted consistently solid numbers throughout his career. I'd say a .316 career batting average is awfully good. His OPS for his career is also in the mid .800's which for a SS is respectable. How is he overrated? I completely agree. Jeter does all the little things and is a heck of an all around ball player. I realize its the sexy thing to hate on him, but all you got to do is watch the guy play game in and game out and you see why he has all those rings and why people in New York absolutely love him. Overated Player: Vlad Guerrero (gets more hype than he deserves) Manager: Ozzie Guillen GM: Billy Beane (this is so easy for me) Underrated Player: Joe Mauer, this guy is ridiuclously good Manager: Bobby Cox (this guy does an amazing job year in year out and never gets any love; he has failed to win the big games though) GM: Terry Ryan (great organization) QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) Dunn must get a lot more press than I am aware of, because I have no idea how he could be considered one of the most overrated players in the game. After this year he will have his third 40/100 season at the age of 26 and the only s*** I ever hear about him is from the host on Sportscenter, making some lame joke about how his latest home run hasn't landed yet. To stat lovers he is by far the most overrated player in the game, imo. Since they all gush about how he is insanely good because of his OPS, when in fact he is not. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) I'm with Boz on Jeter. Jeter is like the Kobe Bryant of MLB (although Kobe himself is a big reason he's so hated). Its just become hip and cool to hate on Jeter for some reason. The guy has the most hits in all of baseball since 1996. Yes. 1996. He consistently hits anywhere from as low as .295 to as high as .346 this season EVERY year. OBP is always good. He has decent pop for the position he plays. He's one of the best in baseball when it comes to fighting off tough pitches and making pitchers work. Playoffs? Do I even have to talk about what this guy does in October? Now, yes, his defense is overrated. He wouldn't sniff a GG if he played anywhere else but NY. But c'mon, the guy has made some pretty amazing plays in the field over the years. The play he made against Oakland in game 3 of the LDS in 2001 is legendary. If Jeter is overrated, then overrated is really, really good in this case. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) I'm in the same boat as you. It's a joke that a lot of people think he's the MVP. Ever hear of Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard? When Jeter retires he will pass the torch to wright. God I hate New York. What the hell do two guys in the NL have to do with Jeter being an MVP candidate. The guy is the leader of a Yankees team that is totally over-achieving. Ya, he deserves to be in MVP talk. He won't win it but if the best MVP got it, we'd be talking about JD at this point. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 08:56 AM) A couple months ago, anyone would've taken Miguel Cabrera over any young player in baseball. Now after enough fluffing from ESPN, Wright is better than Cabrera? Wright is a better all around ball player than Cabrera. Cabrera may be the better hitter though, but I don't care what the stats say, Wright is superior defensively at 3rd.

The backend and front end ratio's are really the only two ratio's that look at your income (from the lender's perspective). The only other thing you obviously need (depending on the loan) is the funds for the down payment (if you aren't doing a 100% loan) or enough funds in the bank to show you can make the payment for a couple months. The credit card fico score has zero to do with your income and is better when you have your credit balances down and obviously there are tons of factors in that. So whatever you can do to improve the credit score (usually one of those things is having a few larger credit cards, not balances, rather credit limits and one other source of major credit). Obviously you need to be paying everything on time consistently. And credit card balances (if you have a few near the max) can really hurt the credit score and one of the wisest things someone could do is take out a 2nd or get a home equity line to pay down there CC's because the interest they pay on those is usually a hell of a lot higher than what you pay on the loans (plus the loans you have the interest as tax deductible).
  15. Lummy was pitching to contact because the Sox wanted him to not screw around and put up ridiculous pitch counts on his return path from the injury. When he needed to he could get the K. I have no idea if now that he's in KC he's not being harped about it as much and instead is trying to finish everyone else on his own. However, I can't speak of what they are telling Lance Broadway so we can't make assumptions that he's throwing to contact (however, I think most pitching coaches preach pitchers being aggressive and attacking the hitters; the key is for that guy to ocassionally be able to get the big K when you really need it).
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 08:00 AM) I'm pretty sure he was released. Yep
  17. Whatever happens happens in that series, I just want the Sox to go out and work on playing good baseball each and every day. We do that and we should be just fine.
  18. I say any scenario that gets us into the playoffs. After taht I don't care who we have to play because you got to go through the best to win it all. Whether thats the Yanks, BoSox, Tigers, Angels, A's and than Mets or whoever in the NL. We don't pitch and play good baseball it'll all be moot, but I really could care less how we get in, as long as we do get in (ie wild card or division and who we play). I do care that we get in by playing good baseball cause that would give us a fighting chance in the post-season.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Yeah I'm aware of it, which is why we probably won't see him here. And Jose Cruz. btw, USED to be better than Wilson, not now though. Ick. Nah, I don't think Cruz was ever better than Wilson. Cruz was insanely talented but struggled to live up to his hype. That said he's a superior defender at all 3 positions to Wilson and hits lefties very well in his career and is used to coming off the bench.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Ok, maybe I'm a liar then. I have no clue why but I remember him having one decent start there. He did, but his debut was nasty. The 2nd start was solid and he's been crappy since too.
  21. Oh and Lendale White (while I think he has the ability to be an awesome powerhouse back) is an absolute turd. The guy was wearing a 100 pound circular thing of bling because he's a total prick. The type of guy I would not be shocked if he failed out of the league because he thinks stuff should get handed to him as opposed to him earning it.
  22. Boomer is an idiot. Plain and simple. Nice guy, but he's living in the 90's.
  23. I just saw this. Was watching NFL network and they were talking about it, ROFL. Vince Young sprained his ankle in the 4th quarter when he was scrambling, got hit and just threw the ball into the air (horrid pass). Packers are getting shellacked. I LOVE FOOTBALL.
  24. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Well, it's the FS reverse jinx. Ya, everyone we interview sucks or gets traded immediately after, but they eventually turn things around and kick butt (or so I hope). QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Omogrosso will definitely be a fan favorite if he ever makes it to Chicago just cause of his name. I'm interested to see where you guys have Wes on your list considering I know Gage has never liked him. He actually is a lot higher than some would think...I think he's ahead of a once highly touted lefty pitching prospect that is ranked lower than Dan would like (Liotta).
  25. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) Ever since a rough start Omogrosso has been lights out. Heck, even Enuco has been on fire lately. Omogrosso is kicking complete ass. He got rocked early and is unhittable now. The guy has a great arm and will look real good in our pen in a years time. This guy will be a QUICK mover.
