  1. f*** Ozzie. You know what, we know its going to be a low scoring game so what the f*** do we have Mack again. This team is worthless thanks to its clueless dumbf*** manager. I'm sick of this bulls*** and the media giving him a million excuses and putting s*** on other people. The guys a f***ing idiot when it comes to managing a baseball team. He got the best out of his players last year but it ain't going to work out that way too often. Last year we had the pitching to overcome his idioticness, this year we don't. Oh and I'm not saying BA catches that ball, but he'd have a better shot than Mack.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) It absolutely boggles my mind people actually think the White Sox hitting coach needs to be shown the door. If Greg Walker is doing a bad job, what's Don Cooper doing besides stealing a check? At least the hitters have performed better than anyone could have hoped this season. The pitchers have a collective ERA equal to the Cleveland Indians, and look at their record. FYI I don't blame the pitcher's inability to consistently pitch good games on Cooper. I think he's a good pitching coach who people gave way too much credit to last year. Of course apparently the Indians rotation is amongst the best in baseball, the problem with the Tribe is there pen which is absolutely brutal. That said the Tribe has a good offense yet somehow us with our offense has been able to put together a far better record (like you said DA).

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) If he's getting called up, does this mean Thome is being DL'ed? That could very well be the case. Its interesting considering he last played on August 10th. That said he was making some strides prior to going down. You just wouldn't think a guy that hasn't played in two weeks would get called up, than again with Ozzie sometimes our callups make little to no sense because if he likes a guy he wants him up regardless of how he's doing in AAA.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) It's definitely not a fact. I found this study when I googled it. First thing that came up:

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) Right-handed people live an average of 9 yrs longer than left-handed people. Damn I didn't realize it was that much of a difference. Does anyone have any idea why this is the case. This is from a concerned lefty
  6. Its looking like Monday. We got one problem fixed, one final hurdle left Brian.

QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) So Good, i recently found out you can order chicken and steak for the same burrito and they don't charge extra , imagine the possibilities . Also it doesn't really bother me that they are owned by the McDonalds corporation. Ya, one of the first ones was opened by me about 4 years ago and I live off that stuff whenever I want fast food. For me its either Chicken Burrito with black beanes, rice, medium salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce or Chicken Taco's (I ask them to put rice in it, its free too). Both are freaking outstanding. And every once in a while I'll go with there chips and guac and its awesome. They have great guac. Plus at least out here if you show student ID you get a free pop so its a pretty heatlhy, clean meal thats damn tasty for 5.50 or so.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) So? I mean, yea, he'd have to clear waivers since he's on the 40-man roster, but its still possible to trade him. Especially if the trade was with one of the poorer teams in the AL.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Um, it's after July 31. And the Mets just acquired Shawn Green. Trades can still be made.

QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:27 AM) Chipotle is delicious, I'm a proponent of both their Chicken Burrito(rice, black beans, chicken, mild, cheese, guacamole, sour cream) and their chips; lime salt? is awesome.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Jerry Owens was on White Sox weekly a few minutes ago and said he heard through his agent that 'something' might happen today. Thats all he said. I wonder if that something would be him getting traded or him replacing Pods in the outfield.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Sox fans love to blame the hitting coach. The guy whose actually done an oustanding job and right now is probably considered (league wide) as being one of the better hitting coaches in all of baseball.
  14. Anyone taking there time to post about the Sox on an internet board is a real fan. Case closed, imo. There are rare exceptions that aren't but you lost me when you try to make yourself out to be a bigger/better fan than anyone else. We are all Sox fans here, and saying your better than any of the members at Soxtalk, well its like walking into an AA meeting and saying your a bigger alcoholic than anyone else in the room.
  15. Guerrier is so good. I was a big fan of his and hated when we dealt him for Marte (obviously that was a good move for us though). But man we are gonna have trouble hitting him, it always seems like we do. Hopefully Javy can stay strong and stay out of the big inning.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) I hated Super Troopers, so I'm going to pass on this. A typical critic you are, hating on the good movies like super troopers while you watch BrokeBack mountain for the 20th time.
  17. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) You did a lot of leg work on this one. Looks good to me. Complete games from here on out is absurd, but 2 to 2.5 runs seems doable. I think all you guys are ridiculously optimistic. He's due for at least a bad outing and that would pretty much throw that 2 to 2.5 runs theory out the window. I just hope he pitches like he has and goes 6-7 innings giving up roughly 3 runs per.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Mackowiak did homer off Radke the last time he faced him there for Mackowiak >>> Anderson. Career Vs Radke: BA: 1-2, 2B Mack: 3-8, 2B, HR We'll never get a f***ing answer from Guillen simply because of the pussies who run the media in this city. It's unbelievable that Ozzie could do so many god damn interviews every week and not a single member of the media has the balls to call him out on his love for Mack/hate for BA. Mike North did an interview with Oz this morning, not even a mention of Mackowiak. It's sickening that we'll never get answers to all the questions we have. I only have 3 and I'll never get a real answer to either. 1.) Why would you EVER start Rod Mackowiak in CF over Brian Anderson? 2.) Why was a REAL 4th outfielder never acquired for this team? 3.) What the f*** happened to Freddy Garcia's arm? Couldn't have said it better myself. Although I wouldn't mind asking him why he retarded McCarthy's growth.
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) I would LOVE to hear a reason for Mack in CF tonight. I usually dont go that hard on Ozzie, but unless Anderson broke his arm diving for that ball yesterday, there is no excuse for Anderson not being in CF. There isn't one. Ozzie's use of Anderson and Mack has been absolutely retarded just like his use of Bmac. I thought he had figured things out with Anderson but apparently he hasn't. Whats even worse is Javy is on the mound and he wets himself like a kid whenever a blooper falls and those are for more likely to happen with Mack out there than BA.

I bbq'd a piece of chicken and had it with rice and sauteed mushrooms. It was delicious.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) I think Ozzie is very close to pulling the plug on Pods as a regular. Just from his comments, he seems to be getting little digs in lately. All season that appears to be the case. The thing that dissapoints me is he's made an example out of Uribe and he's done it to other guys at times, yet he really hasn't done it to Pods. I really dont' get it.

QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) I need to watch super troopers again. Farva is possibly the best character in any movie ever Does that look like spit to you? Ah f*** it (he takes a bit bite into the burger).
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:31 AM) I have to say, Jim and I are struggling with the 61 home games this year. The # goes up every year it seems and we are never home over the summer. We are thinking about scaling it back next year. Season seats are hard cause you can't possibly make it to all the games. We give out a lot of ours for work purposes but we've also started selling them on the exchange which is really nice. Of course I don't think we are gonna pony up for the Angel playoff tix. 5200 bucks thrown down in advance for next years seats doesn't seem like that good of a deal to me (considering our playoff tickets are a little more than the entire regular season). I just know that we are guaranteed our seats as full time season ticket holders, but maybe that changes if you have in the lower level (we have UD seats). OH and of course I'm not talking about the White Sox.
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Why I let this team screw with my hopes, I really dont know anymore, but I am pumped about this series. I have an odd feeling Vaz is going to step up tonight, and this team is going to show some fire. God I hope im right. Way to set yourself up. Best thing I ever did was write this team off (unless Vaz mans up and develops into the pitcher scouts think he can be) because now I can just watch the games and enjoy them. Yesterday's game was one of the most enjoyable Sox games in a long time. I've finally gotten over the high expectations and learned to relax and just enjoy the games. If we win great, if we lose, not the end of the world. You can't win every game and you can't win every year. Obviously I'd like to this year, but for that to happen Jose and Javy will have to really man up so I guess this series will be a microcosm of the remainder of the season because if those two can step up we win this series and if those two step up (to go with Jon) we officially become the team to beat in the postseason, imo. I'm bolding that cause I really think that will be the key to our season, Jose and Javy developing into front line guys to go with Jon.

Ya, I think I'm going to have to check that out simply because its the same cast as Super Troopers. Than again Club Dread was awful but It looked awful in the previews too.
