When comedy worlds collide
It was a funny South Park, I loved the big wheel chase scene.

Thome vs Big Frank
With the shape Thome is in, if he stays healthy I could seriously see him winning an MVP. He is freaking amazing. I like watching him hit more than anyone in baseball. I really hope he stays healthy.

Like these?
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:10 AM) I've seen a few of these football and hockey jerseys around. I'm not sure I'm feelin them. http://www.prosportsmemorabilia.com/Produc...6442&fc=bizrate Not at all. I prefer a classic jersey as opposed to this new age stuff (such as the hats that are weird colors; I understand pink for ladies but thats it).

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 07:45 AM) IIRC Sanders landed with a Japanese team. Anyone have a similar recollection? Ya, I think thats exactly what happened. I know he's out of the org though.

Did Jenks lose weight?
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) He was up to 99 on the Comcast gun, and supposedly on the stadium gun also, a couple times today. He had only 1 fastball that fell below 97 that i saw. And he also was firing that slider up there at 91. Man, a 91 mph slider...you combine that with that 99 fastball, and nobody's going to be hitting htis guy. He hit 100 on the comcast gun once and Hawk mentioned he hit 100 on the stadium gun either once or twice. And as Addy said they also brought up how he was throwing in the 3 digit range in his last few pen sessions.

Did Jenks lose weight?
I'm surprised no one mentioned this, but while he gave up a HR and Crede had to make a couple great plays, Jenks was throwing gas. Was clocked as high as 100. It just looks like he's got a bit to go with his breaking ball. He's looking better though.

Game Advice
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) Ah, so I should just bum around the dugout? That's before the game, right? Ya, get there early cause thats the best time, imo. Dugout and over by the outfield when they do stretching and all that good stuff. I've never tried at the cell but thats where people usually sign at most stadiums.

White Sox Cocky To Open the Season
White Sox Cocky to Open the Season By Mike Matha Soxtalk.com For the first time in close to 90 years, the White Sox are not only the defending champions, but they’re also the team to beat—and maybe rightfully so. Yet this brings along an honor that perhaps the White Sox aren’t yet ready to cherish. They’re the big boys on the block now, but to be a bully one has to be tough, determined and downright mean.MORE

Game Advice
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) So otherwise there's still a chance I can get to another of the guys and say a few words and stuff? As long as the starter isn't pitching, sure. I haven't gone for auto's in a long time, but usually anywhere from the dugout down the line on either teams side and your in a good spot.

Game Advice
Ya, pitchers do not sign on game day (the starting pitcher that is). They ahve to go through all there stretching and get in there long toss (to warm the arms) and usually they have a bit of a meeting before the game with the catcher and pitching coach as well where they discuss the approaches and all that good stuff. Plus the Sox are going to have Freddy warm up a little longer for this start to see if they can get him loosened up.

Scotty Pods????
QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) He is kind of starting to worry me, he looks lost at the plate right now, in order to win he has to get on base. Hawk and Dj kept mentioning how this is like is spring training, if that is so then why isent he in triple A or something? I really hope he gets on track soon. You need to remember he had a short swing. However, despite going hitless today he was able to hit the ball on the ground 4 times (just one flyout) and I think he's getting a bit closer (swing wise). However, right now he's also pressing and because of that he's swinging at pitches he usually would take. Right now I'm not near as concerned as most because over the long haul good teams win and we are a GOOD team. No guarantee we make the playoffs but I'd be shocked if we aren't in the thick of things come August and September.

Weak Broadcasting...
I've only listened to a few games this year, but I know the Knights have some pretty quality announcers or at least they did the few times I was there. I've never had a problem with it though, mainly because I'm listening to find out whats going on with the prospects and don't pay much attention. Plus in the minors a lot of these guys announce along with doing other key jobs for the organization so its a real busy thing where they can't focus on just one thing.
-
Leo Daigle
He was a minor league free agent and while he had an amazing year he isn't considered a prospect, rather a solid minor leaguer who can help a minor league team win (will never help a major league team win). The O's signed him for organizational depth.

AL Central Central
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) I didn't mean to give the Indians credit for developing him. A sizable portion of the Indians club was assembled from trades as it is. I know Sizemore and Lee came over from Montreal during the Colon trade, and I believe Belliard was aquired from Colorado (?). I'm sure there are several I'm forgetting. Belliard was a top prospect who bellied up with the Brewers and than went to Colorado and sucked. I don't think the Tribe traded for him nor did they ever possibly expect him to figure things out all of a sudden. Him whooping like he has was like how Elo came in and kicked butt and won the Cy Young that year for us (a total shock).

Not going to panic yet, but something bothers me
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) We're not 1-4 because of Logan and Thorton. Technically one of those losses could be pinned on Logan. However, I'd rather put the blame of that game on our offense for stranding 20 plus. Today Politte got hit up and it was one of our so called better relievers who got the loss. I only saw the first few innings and the last few, but we look completely flat right now. Vazquez looked real good though.

4/7 Games
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) Would I be correct in saying that Broadway's ceiling probably isn't that high? I mean, even if he has a great year, it just doesn't seem like he's the type of guy who's got the potential to be a top of the rotation starter. Of course, that's certainly not a bad thing -- if Broadway develops into a #3-4 type who will give you innings along with an ERA around 4.25 every year, I think that'd be a good payoff for a mid-first round pick. He does have that cuve which is a plus plus pitch. But right now I think its too hard to make projections. He'd be one of those aces that doesn't blow you away with stuff, but if he can improve his changeup (and considering that our org is really becoming good at teaching the change, I think there is a good chance at that) he could really turn into a pretty damn good prospect. He's got a solid fastball which he can control, his curve is freaking filthy, if he can mix in a good to plus change with that in time and command all 3 pitches thats enough to be a #2 or so starter in this league. Sure he won't have the arm scouts ooze over but being able to throw 3 good pitches for strikes worked good for Bmac. Actually Bmac and Broadway have similar stuff. You got to remember up until Bmac really refined his change, his curve was considered a plus pitch (and still is pretty good) but his changeup blew past that and he can spot his fastball. They both have similar velocity and similiar stuff, can Broaday become that type of control guy and find a grip that works on his change.

4/7 Games
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) With a good season he can be the B-Mac of the team from 2005. Id say 06 but I dont think they would want to stunt his growth that much. I'm not near ready to put him in the same sentence as Bmac. Its been a long time since we had a pitching prospect of his caliber.

Note on Chris Young
QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:35 AM) Stephen Drew is their future SS. That boy can rake too. If Drew can be healthy he can be a good version of his big bro.

Note on Chris Young
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) Actually I think Upton is still play SS for them currently and its most likey that with Chris Young Upton would play LF. No, they officially announced they were going to move Upton to the OF. However, I disagree with everyone. Upton has not proven he's more talented than Chris Young. I realize Upton has a lot of tools, but Young is about as talented as it gets at the Minor league level. We'll see how that transcends to the major league. Plus I'm hard pressed to see someone come in and play better defensively. The Dbacks have 4 damn good OF prospects (including Upton, Young, Gonzalez, and Quentin) and my guess is at least one of them won't pan out, so they really don't have anything to worry about in terms of positions.

Note on Chris Young
But he's getting close to coming back from a broken bone in his hand.

Jeff Samardzija
It will be interesting to see what he opts for. He's a studly athlete with a great arm who has a lot of upside as either a baseball player or football player. Because of him being a two sport guy he may be a guy thats available when the Sox are picking.

4/7 Games
I'm expecting a big year out of Broadway this year. He was tired last season for us. I still have some doubts about him but he has a real good feel and a damn good spike curve.
