  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Game # 1 blown by our bullpen this season. I hope this doesn't become the norm. 2 runs in 5 innings isn't exactly horrible. 20 plus men left on, now thats horrid. I chalk this up to our offense failing to execute.
  2. Ends the ball chasing one in the dirt. God what a pathetic loss. Better learn from this one cause we should have beaten the Tribe and beaten them pretty good.
  3. Can't do that Paulie, you can't go down looking like that.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) how did it look without the gun? Using my eye it looked like he had a few around 95-96 where you could see it was popping, but when he fell behind he took a little off and it looked more 93ish. Thats just a ballpark but he wasn't throwing any super gas.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) How was Jenk's velocity WGN hasn't had the gun on all game, so we can't tell.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) It's painful to watch him pitch. He just isn't fluid on the mound. We're going to need him to be good though, or else our bullpen sucks. You can't have 2 or 3 dependable arms with the way Ozzie manages. Right now he will get hurt if he can't lose a few pounds and give himself the flexibility to have a proper throwing motion. He's just too bulky and its effecting his range of motion which is leading to improper mechanics and some wild pitches. I remember reading where the trainers were working with him during ST on this and I hope they have him on a diet full of salad and tofu until he drop 15 more pounds.
  7. Jenks is too fat to properly throw the ball right now. He isn't following through completely and with that he leaves his shoulder open just a bit and he's missing way outside because of it.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Hows bobby's velocity? WGN doesn't have the gun on.
  9. That was a freaking strike.
  10. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Lack of execution all day long and some questionable managing. Cotts in the 8th would've been good. Where are Jenks or Thorton? Cotts and Politte do not need to go more then one inning with Thorton and McCarthy. After last seasons ealry game agains the Tribe in which Viz was hung out to try, Ozzie always makes sure he'll have people ready in case things go extra. He always leaves that extra guy. Jenksy is in now. Cotts is a durable guy, there is no problem in running him out for 2.
  11. QUOTE(joeynach @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) And there goes the game to a guy most people have never heard of. How the hell did he go 4-5 against pitching he has never seen before. I think he was the best hitter in the NL against LHPing. So it should come as a surprise that he hit Cotts.
  12. If we don't end up winning this game it will be an early season lesson learned by this club. We should have won and they will have to focus and be better prepared in these type of games. I know Ozzie will help use this game to set a lesson. However, it ain't over yet. Lets keep it at 1 and see what Guch, Thome, PK can do.
  13. Tribe takes the lead.
  14. Sizemore is good. He gets the bunt down and a runner is on 2nd. God damn am I jealous of the Tribe for having him. He's so fun to watch.
  15. Pods pops out. He needs to hit the ball on the ground, too many fly balls thus far this season for him. You can see he missed a bit too much of spring so he's just not quite ready yet.
  16. I like the idea of sending Cintron. Plus I got little faith in Pods anyway so worse case you have the top of the order for the 11th.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Was it an over-the-shoulder catch by Sizemore? Ya, he wasn't in control but made a nice catch. Made it look relatively easy but it was a play most CF'ers don't make, in fact I think 90% of them don't make that grab.
  18. Great play by Sizemore at the track in dead center to haul it in on Uribe. Damn.
  19. Game.Over Danny Graves is in. We'll take care of him.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Seriously, how can anyone like Belliard and Sabathia, those wanna be thugish homos cant even put their hats on straight. I give Sabathia a little leeway since he's a lefty. Its almost proven that lefties don't know how to wear hats perfectly straight (hell I do it all the time when I'm on the field and I think its on straight). But mine isn't quite as off as Sabathia's. But I'm also just a wee bit slow, but nothing like Heads
  21. Popped up into right field on the first pitch and Iguchi makes the catch. Inning over. Sox got another shot at trying to win this thing.
  22. Flied out to Anderson.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Just by basing on what I read, I'm more disappointed that Pods didn't draw a walk. Everyone in the world knows that the Sox struggle with offspeed pitches with a 3-2 count. Pods done a poor job at that so far this year. I expect that to change cause I'm sure Ozzie will be reminding him how important it is for him to get on base. But with him still being tentative I Think he thinks it means he needs to swing more and get hits as opposed to just get on.
